After loving the tiny sample of ds durga coriander I ordered the liberty freshy box which has a 10ml coriander, swimming pool, adelphi sun and i am verdant. Also to cheer myself up after lying in bed for a week. I could pretend im training my nose after illness induced insomnia, but really I just wanted it.

I've been lax with this thread. I was feeling a bit down because I couldn't find one of the body mists I wanted to get, but I found it online yesterday morning and ordered it, so I'm just waiting for it to arrive! Very excited. It's another So...? one. I've a few more to buy then I've caught up.
Scent of the day is Next Pear Blossom, top is bergamot and pear, heart is peony and jasmine sambac, and base is patchouli and musk. (Just had to Google it because I couldn't find the box and I know it's somewhere!)
It smells like pear, then you get the floral bit after a while, and then the musky bit. Very nice. 😊

@IDontHateRainbows That's the best reason to buy something!

I'll have to give Swimming Pool another try. My recollection is that I just thought it smelled like toothpaste.

@IDontHateRainbows If you have Blenheim Bouquet or Juniper Sling in your Penhaligon's testers, you might like those in your current phase.

Interview went well so I went for a sniff in Byredo, quite liking the Blanche Absolu so I’ve ordered a sample size from Cult Beauty along with a few others.

I’ve just got my Liberty BD and am trying Bibbi Swimming Pool. The mint is very fresh but overall I like the unusual minty note.

I hated swimming pool at first, couldn't stand it. Like cough medicine. Now I love it. I think its helping with my lurgi as Eucalyptus and Camphor are known remedies for congestion.

DS Durga Cowboy Grass today, which is fitting in with the zingy astringent cravings I am getting. Herbal, sharp. I'ts SO STRANGE. Literally like I have a new nose since having this bug. But it's good, as I always found sharp, zingy fragrances a bit much and wondered what it was like for people who liked them. A bit like my mum who doesn't like spicy food and wonders how it can be nice for some people.

It will be interesting to see if my nose goes back to normal after I recover or if this will be a new permanent olfactory avenue. It could be that my 'too strong' setting has gone down due to congestion and the impact of what I think could be covid on the olfactory sensors. So what was yesterday's vindaloo is now bhuna, to use the spice analogy.

Good luck. Blanche absolu was in one of the advent/fragrance calendars so there are probably some genuine ones on ebay or vinted at reasonable price. It was the mini dabber if i remember correctly.

Hi all, can I join? I have been lurking but was smiling at the Banana Rush discussion as I just bought a bottle last week after testing it in John Lewis and not being able to stop thinking about it.

I was a bit "WTF" on first spray as it smelled to me like someone had thrown a packet of foam banana sweets onto a bonfire but I've found the dry down really addictive......like caramelised banana pancakes. My children seem to love it too and keep asking to sniff me ..... I'm not sure that's a selling point 🤣. I didn't know about the bees though!

Today I'm wearing Givenchy Irresistible. It's not one of my favourites but a good day to day one for me.

Do take care wearing it outdoors. The Bee thing is serious, the banana aromachemical can make them swarm. Scary stuff!

I put I don’t know what on by itself and with most things apart from oudy ones. It’s one of those ones which is all or nothing. Enjoy the others- I got the peony one from JM and it last longer than any other JM Ive tried ( only 4)

Cowboy grass again as I'm still craving astringents, and want to make the most of it before my old sense of smell returns. I am definitely on the mend and not feeling so sick at certain smells/tastes although coffee still tastes weird.

It was Matiere Vanilla Powder again today. Still surprising myself at how much I like it as it’s so much not what I normally like!

SOTD Jo Loves Pomelo - first impressions on this are a bit mixed, there's a lovely pomelo/pink grapefruit opening, but it's so fleeting and now it seems to have settled into quite a masculine vetiver note. I really wasn't expecting it to smell so much like aftershave! I think this one might suit DH more, but I'll see how it wears.

I've been using up the Glossier You Soie sample for the last couple of days. It's really grown on me and the longevity isn't bad. I think it might be my favourite so far from this range. Very summery soft coconutty scent.

I thought I'd give JHAG banana rush another chance, but nope, it's not for me. I thought it smelt really smokey and then just disappeared, so I'm glad I sent back the travel size. I need to decide what I now want to wear for the rest of the day or even just til lunch time 🤔

Yesterday was PDM Meliora, I love this one, it's so spring like and not too strong for the office. Plus I can take my little 5ml in my bag for top ups 🥰 In the evening, I sprayed on Brompton Immortals - in the beauty chat, I'd mentioned that I'd not used the fragrances from the Harrods FAC much recently, so I decided to go for that one. My husband commented on it saying I smelt especially nice 🩷

My husband has very little sense of smell so never comments on scent! Means I can please myself I suppose…

SOTD is Liberty Tana Meadows. The description mentioned citrus, I’m not getting any of that at all. It’s very much on the sweet end of things for me. Not unpleasant but very samey for a lot of scents I’ve tried in the last year or so.

I want something that surprises me. This ain’t it.

Already familiar with swimming pool as it was in a liberty edit last year, and I think I am verdant was to. Excited for the Coriander!

Update, the coriander has been opened. I would have preferred a travel spray to oil rollerball but hey ho. Still like it. Its zingy, green and peppery. A few months ago I wouldn't have imagined ever liking this.

Sotd Jo Malone. The pearl one. Lovely I never thought id like a pearl scent but do 🥰

Tried Adelphi Sun, not a fan. It's quite grapefruity and although not as sharp as some grapefruits, I don't think I'm a fan of grapefruit in perfume myself. Coriander is definitely the better of the two and whilst I prefer spray to rollerball/oil I am getting used to it.

Still not feeling right which is affecting my sense of taste and smell, I was finding heavy gourmands and sweet frags a bit too much but I'm hoping it won't be long before I am back to normal.
