Today’s been much colder and cloudier, so SOTD is Artisan Parfumeur Il Etait Un Bois. Calming, soft and woody, maybe even a little creamy?

Lurkingshark · 11/04/2026 19:52

sorry to hear about illnesses. I’m on de los Santos ( Byredo) - an old tester, didn’t last long and smelt like I dropped tequila on me. I vaguely think I nearly bought a bottle. Please I did not!

Yeste, was the marks Warmth (dupe of santal 33) which lasted 45 mins into town. I tested out Tam Dao from Diptyque and I think it might be a good replacement for sandalwood temple . @JoRaRaRa you were the other fan of that? I will go and test as they have a EDT and EDP and Reddit says they are very different

IDontHateRainbows · 11/04/2026 21:57

Apparently it is recommended to 'train' the nose after a period of illness induced anosmia by smelling particularly strong smells, of which i have many. Bibbi swimming pool at the ready, it has camphor notes and is quite astringent. Don't want to waste it tho.

SOTD Vesper Glitz - love this one so much - am going to use my beauty drop vouchers on the 20% off fragrances day in the beauty drop week to get a 50ml bottle. It reminds me a bit of Libre but the mimosa, powdery, vanilla dry down after the initial orange blossom and pink pepper make it a deeper scent imo. Love it

MotherWol · 12/04/2026 11:11

SOTD Commodity Moss Personal, from the big box of samples. Nice bergamot and oak moss zesty spring scent. Undecided between a few travel sizes on Vinted as my fragrance purchase for the month, thinking possibly Byredo Blanche Absolu, Chloe Cedrus or LL Eucalyptus. Anyone tried any of them?

TragicMuse · 12/04/2026 13:48

I had a sniff of PDM Valaya in a shop yesterday, it is rather nice isn’t it!!

Today is a bit grey so I’m not in the mood for citrusy spring scent. I think I’ll opt for an old comforting favourite. Not too winter-jumper but not sleeveless-summer-dress yet.

It might be Thameen Cullinan Diamond. That made my heart skip a beat when I first smelled it! It’s so…rich! I don’t wear it often, but I always feel very luxurious when I do!

Yes, I love sandalwood temple, I do have a few in my stash that I picked up from vinted 😊 I've been wearing dedcool Taunt a lot recently, but also trying to get more into my spring fragrances. After initially saying I didn't like ex nihilo the hedonist, I do now and wore it again today 😊

IDontHateRainbows · 12/04/2026 20:52

Sense of smell has come back a bit so I've been indulging in my sharpest, zingiest perfumes. Mainly Fragrance du Bois Lucius which is a lovely citrus with a delicious dry down. Also Bibbi Swimming Pool which is quite unique - lots of mint and herb and does give the sensation of diving into a wonderful cool pool at a luxurious spa.

I think Swimming Pool is a grower. I wore it a couple of times last summer, I'm going to try it again when we get a warm spell.

IDontHateRainbows · 12/04/2026 21:54

Any liberty beauty drop members can expect a mini swimming pool in the next drop.

Hi. I’m a first time poster and a long time lurker here and I’m after some recommendations.

I had a sample of MFK Feminine Pluriel and for me and my sister is how we remember our mum to smell. Must be a perfume she used in ‘80’s - ‘90’s.
Is anyone familiar with the perfume and is there something very similar?

It doesn’t come in smaller bottles and a big one is a big spendy.. Thank you!

TragicMuse · 13/04/2026 11:33

SOTD Jimmy by Bruno Fazzolari. I only have a tiny sample and have been eking it out as he disconned it.

I love all his scents from around that period, very sad they he disconned this and Seyrig which was also wonderful.

potplantsinparadise · 13/04/2026 11:37

Does Swimming Pool have any similarities with Le Labo Eucalyptus?

Not tried that one, it does have eucalyptus as a note but also lots of other things so I'd say it's probably more complex.

SOTD is Summer Fridays Sunlit Vanilla. I can see myself buying a FS of this, it's beautiful. I saw the sunshine this morning and then couldn't wait to put it on 🌞

IDontHateRainbows · 13/04/2026 12:00

Still retraining the nose. Tried Halfeti today. Definitely gone up in my estimation
Got the 10ml size in the selfridges edit which I am surprised didn't sell out.

Still finding smells and tastes weird and feeling yuk so trying not to over do it. Working from home so periods of rest in-between work.

OP posts:
IDontHateRainbows · 13/04/2026 13:52

Decided against Halfeti, it was making me feel sick. I was kind of on the fence with it. Best scents for me at this time have been the citrussy freshy ones which usually aren't my favourite. The more gourmand or spicy ones are a no no. Happy to have my olfactory horizons challenged even if it's not due to a situation of my choosing.

Just tried Tana Meadow from my beauty box drop - I love it but think it smells very very similar to paradoxe - will see if it smells any differently as it dries down

I just tried it too. After waiting ages to try this one I'm not keen so far. 😁

Lurkingshark · 13/04/2026 15:57

me too on BD samples. Tana meadows is nice but like many cheaper ones I think. I’ve not smelled paradoxe so useful to know.

swimming pool is fab! Very interesting. The mint/ herbs is not overwhelming at all. A swishy blend of smells. I love when perfume is like this.

IDontHateRainbows · 13/04/2026 16:37

Oh my, its like I've got a whole new nose, after having this bug all I want is freshies and zingies! Ds durga coriander today. Lovely herbal freshy. Wonder how long this will last, will i go back to my old faithful in time, vanillas and saffron, or is this the start of a new era?

OP posts:
JoRaRaRa · 13/04/2026 17:53

I'm liking both of the perfumes in the BD. I now have one on each arm and keep sniffing them 🤣 I like that they're both good for Spring but also both so different. My favourite is definitely tana meadows, so I'm interested that it smells like prada paradox. I wonder if LF still have that fragrance edit 🤔🤣

DH has returned from his work travels with a full-size Diptyque EDT and a bag full of airline amenity kits - mostly Ex Nihilo and Lanvin. I think he finally understood the assignment!

SOTD: nothing as I have an interview today, but will swing past the fragrance counters once it's over. Wish me luck!

JoRaRaRa · 14/04/2026 11:33

Good luck with your interview @MotherWol 🤞

SOTMorning is You Doux - I felt like I wanted something soft and cocooning today and this does just that 🤍
