Thanks @CakeAndJazz - that does look quite nice. I wonder what the weight of the jersey is?

Snowyowl78 · 06/03/2026 19:38

@MsDastardley id definately go for it! You don’t want to have to get a whole new wardrobe. I’ve only had things taken up so far- trousers, dresses, even tops. All successful!

IlovePond · 06/03/2026 19:41

I agree that is entirely possible @mizu

I rang Kilver Court and got: ‘We haven’t been sent any samples. We haven’t heard anything about a sample sale.’

I rang LLandeilo and the person who answered the phone called over to a colleague to ask and was told, ‘Not as far as we know.’

I certainly believed the LLandeilo staff, (and, tbh, it was so weird that there was a sample sale there last year - the shop is TINY!)

I think it’s entirely possible that Toast H.O. sometimes don’t even tell KC. etc. until the last minute, so fingers crossed that there is a sample sale on the horizon.

Having said that, when I have called KC before in February/March, I have been told a sale was in the offing and to keep an eye out for confirmation/dates, so maybe it really isn’t happening this year 🤷‍♀️

Thanks @CakeAndJazz I've ordered the button through in the blue.

ToastSafeFromMothsAndDogs · 07/03/2026 10:30

I had a look in the Cambridge shop this week, but wasn’t tempted by anything.

Partly perhaps because they didn’t have much out. The rails were weirdly empty.

The first time I went in, I thought this was because they were waiting for the new stock. But when this arrived, it was still very thin, because they’d taken other things away to ‘make space’.

If I get to a shop, I want to see as much as possible! Not a few garments artfully displayed. I asked to see some other things and they were brought up, but they surely can’t rely on people knowing the collection and asking for specific items.

The new green ‘tea towel’ skirt is a beautiful colour but a very light summery fabric which has limited utility for me.

ShanghaiDiva · 07/03/2026 15:36

I also love the colour of the tea towel skirt and love the fish print bandanas.

IlovePond · 07/03/2026 15:41

I remembered my Current Elliott dress today - the one several of us jumped on as a TKMAXX bargain a few years ago.

I’m ashamed to say I have never worn it. I thought about it today but couldn’t work out what to do with the ridiculous sleeves.

Those of you who bought one that are still on the thread - how do you wear yours? (Or are you joining me in the naughty corner and your dress is still unworn in the cupboard?)

I visited a store today to try on some things. The linen cotton knit tee is a great shape. Same fabric as the sleeveless ones from the last couple of years and the linen cotton sweater. I will definitely order this. Sizing was as expected, I will go for my usual M.
Also really like the soft black waistcoat, and it does seem the same size as last year’s. I will order this and sell on my navy one (if you’re interested @Snowyowl78 I’ll likely list it on the fb group next week - anthracite in size 14 (though it’s more of a 12/M I feel)).
I also love the Japanese indigo jacket (from a previous drop) but very thankfully, I am a bit between sizes in it as it is £££ and I cannot be bothered with indigo dye. I’d really like to see the cotton linen wrap jacket appear in soft black this year.
I also tried the beetroot linen buttoned tank, but the colour is not really me. Lovely for someone though.
Nothing else grabbed me. I’m interested in the blue stripe skirt that hasn’t arrived yet, think that would be great for summer holidays.

CakeAndJazz · 07/03/2026 17:27

What a find @IlovePond! I’m going to give them a try, thank you. Am always on the lookout for comfortable footwear.

The weight looks quite decent from the website photos (I think) @faustina, but could be misleading and I’m by no means knowledgeable when it comes to material/fabrics.

MsDastardley · 07/03/2026 18:08

Snowyowl78 · 06/03/2026 19:38

Thankfully I don’t need a whole new wardrobe! I think some things fit better, and I did buy a few bits in the sale in anticipation of losing some weight. That’s a risky plan! Going to give the alteration a go and see how it turns out. I haven’t seen anything I like better.

Snowyowl78 · 08/03/2026 11:24

@ScottishMouse ill look out for it! In the size guid the black and blue seemed to have different hem measurements? Did they seem the same size?

ScottishMouse · 08/03/2026 11:32

Oh interesting @Snowyowl78, I did think the soft black was very slightly wider at the bottom, but I wouldn’t have thought it was as much as 5cm for the size 14.

PrincessofWells · 10/03/2026 18:11

Anybody else watch the Toast spring drop today?
It was quite interesting, but I only really liked two items, the white shirt and the gingham shirt. I felt a bit meh at the rest.

Countmeout · 10/03/2026 20:03

Me @PrincessofWells .
Nothing really stood out as a must have. But nice to see the items on.

ScottishMouse · 10/03/2026 21:23

Thanks for the reminder @Countmeout I didn’t get to watch it at 1pm and meant to come back to it later but forgot. But the link in the snail doesn’t work for me anymore - well, it works but then the video is just blank. Anyone else having this issue?

ToastSafeFromMothsAndDogs · 10/03/2026 21:36

Thanks for the link!

Good grief, what have they done to poor Arri in the first slot? She’s so beautiful and they’ve made it look like she was dressed by preschoolers! And the neck comments!

I’m going to watch the rest but now it feels like dark fascination not fashion…

Countmeout · 10/03/2026 21:42

@ScottishMouse I found that at first. I could only see it on my phone and then only by moving the wee thingy along. The
line that shows how much is left. I’m sorry I have no idea what it’s called. Still just on the phone though.

shoppingred54 · 10/03/2026 21:42

Blimey that woman was obsessed with neck length! I’m trying to elongate mine as I type.

Countmeout · 10/03/2026 21:47

Yes they were a bit pass remarkable about features no one can help.

This years blue skirt is almost the exact colour of a similar style (full skirted) that I bought in Zara in a sale last year. Lighter than Toast’s blue skirt from last year (that I have too 😬) I may have a blue skirt problem.

ScottishMouse · 10/03/2026 21:52

Thanks @Countmeout i got it to work on a computer, but not my phone 🤷‍♀️ I am feeling very self-conscious about my neck now. I have a very short neck but it is also rather jowly these days and I always button things up to the top to try and hide it (and usually wear a big scarf too!)…the neck lady would not be pleased with me!
I like the look of the blue check dress and shirt which I didn’t really look at before. I also like the top Evie is wearing, though I thought when I saw it in store that it was a bit too yellow-ish cream to be close to my face.
i wish they had shown the light blue & ecru stripe skirt a bit closer. I see it is not expected to be in the warehouse until later in the month, I’m hoping it might make a good holiday skirt.

Chickyhip · 10/03/2026 23:08

Hello Toast people!
I hope you don’t mind me briefly invading your thread. I’ve been looking for a specific dress for over a year and it’s driving me crazy, it never seems to come up on vinted or eBay. It’s the Chambray Pintuck dress, in a size L (16). If any of you are thinking about putting one up for sale, or have any ideas of where I could look, I would be so grateful if you’d give me a heads up!
Hope you don’t mind the intrusion.
🙂

Hi, I bought one in the last sale, end of Dec. It comes up very large so you might be OK in a 14. I'm a Toast 14 (new Toast anyway) and bought a 12 and there's still a bit of room. Have you rung Kilver Court to see if they have any? And maybe give customer service a call as we, they can be quite helpful in tracking items down.

Edited to add its the navy linen pintuck I have, but did you mean this one?

Scotiasdarling · 11/03/2026 06:44

I was so looking forward to seeing some new things, and like others I usually buy a dress at this time of year, but the fruit print which I thought I would love doesn't look as good as I thought it would. I think it's something to do with the grapes being a much darker shade than the other fruits which makes them stand out too much. Anyway the Selma dress shape is not for me, I don't like back yokes with gathers.

I just watched the styling video and it had the effect of putting me off things more rather than liking them more! I might be tempted if there were a dress in the emerald green, but a baggy shirt over a baggy skirt just feels like too much fabric on me.

I have to say that all the complicated tucking instructions make me suspect that the actual garments need a bit of help to look good. The best clothes on me are ones that just look good when I put them on and then don't give them another thought.

A plus point is I'm going to be in Harrogate with a tiny bit of time to go shopping, and now I don't need to go to Toast!

ScallopShellWalk · 11/03/2026 08:03

I felt the woman obsessed with fixing short necks and slim hips and all the other misfits she sees by tucking in, elongating twisted scarves, turning up and open jackets was looking for ways to she could look clever. I didn’t like anything she suggested and I didn’t see anything that needed fixing in the women. For me she mainly just distracted from the garments by singing her own praises. I don’t believe the shirts need elaborate tucking in. And I thought the tucking in looked messy and odd. What’s wrong with a short neck? They looked normal to me. What even is a short neck? Unless she doesn’t mean short just that it’s not extra long?
