Seriously who wears these. Yet another collection ruined by the dreaded puff sleeve. Stop

I need to see a link

No puff sleeves. That includes the pointy Vampires Wife type puffs.

No sleeves with tight elastic around the arm

No sleeves with ruffles at the end

No sleeves you can’t push or roll up (ie bell sleeves - balloon sleeves are ok as they have a cuff)

Let sleeves be sleeves.

Yes this is what I mean about the tight elastic. This would be a great summer dress for really hot weather - it’s loose and linen. But these sleeves will have a hidden band of elastic around the upper arm to make them this shape. Which would be so horrible in hot weather.

CrushingOnRubies · 12/02/2026 20:33

I also hate puffy sleeves. Wearing something on top is uncomfortable. So that vastly reduces the amount of days a year they can be worn. Yes I can wear a cami underneath but then i inevitably over heat and can’t do anything about it easily.

Nincompoo · 12/02/2026 20:35

Agree.

I would like to add - no more stupid short half jumpers. Who wants a jumper what doesn’t even reach their waist? Draughty!

No they won’t. They are lined and the lining is shorter than the face fabric.

Ah ok. Yes you’re right that’s probably how they’ve done it. In which case, I don’t mind these sleeves - and I wouldn’t call them puff. They’re not puffy! Puffy ones have elastic…

SandwichMakerHater · 12/02/2026 20:40

If it's well made then it could achieve that effect by having a shorter, slimmer sleeve lining that pulls the main fabric's hem up inside so it would be lovely and cool...but these days, yes probably unlined with elastic!

SandwichMakerHater · 12/02/2026 20:40

Cross post!

Neveranynamesleft · 12/02/2026 20:43

If you're chucking puff sleeves in the bin then barrel leg jeans can keep them company. Ridiculous things.

likelysuspect · 12/02/2026 20:44

I like a puffy sleeve as it manages my bingo wings.

Jigsaw generally does things properly IME. So I think it probably is the shorter inner lining.

Silvermadmonkey · 12/02/2026 20:45

I wear puff sleeves! Not as big as the photo you posted though they are quite extreme! I hate hate hate my upper arms and when I wear puff sleeves I can wear a tighter top but cover the dreaded arms!

Lararoft · 12/02/2026 20:47

I dislike puff sleeves as I have big boobs and those sleeves do accentuate them.

GOAT26 · 12/02/2026 20:47

I bought a pretty puffy sleeved blouse, felt good in it, then wore it for some professional work photos. Haven't put it on since, it made me look like a marshmallow!

user1471548941 · 12/02/2026 20:47

Oh no sorry, I love a puff sleeve 🙈. To be fair, I’m probably in a minority because my upper body shape is odd- I have a very large bust on a really small frame with very narrow shoulders. The puff sleeve gives me balance and draws attention away from my boobs!

However, I find it really hard to find clothes to fit and wear a 28K bra so I wouldn’t say there are loads of people walking round with my shape creating demand for me- if there were, I wouldn’t find it so hard to find a bloody bra!

GOAT26 · 12/02/2026 20:49

I think that's the problem, unless you are waiflike there is the danger of looking like a milkmaid.

LlynTegid · 12/02/2026 20:49

Agree just no.

Spottylittledog · 12/02/2026 20:59

Anne Shirley would strongly disagree with you

Perfectly positioned to increase my width at my widest part. Lovely.

mdinbc · 12/02/2026 21:16

Hmm, I checked their dresses and this is only one of 23 choices. Certainly if you don't like puffed sleeves you can find something else.

I wasn't crazy about the huge collars a few seasons ago, but just chose not to buy one.

letshavetea · 12/02/2026 21:21

I dislike puffed sleeves and can we add no tiers to dresses as well?!?

RetainersinSpainnotontheplane · 12/02/2026 21:22

I do not suit puff sleeves at all. I tried on a really nice (on the hanger) Nobody’s Child dress recently and was immediately humbled in the changing room because I looked like Anne sodding Boleyn.
