Final one before the opening threads. Who is starting the opening threads and for which ones? Please share the links below. There’ll be Waifs and Strays one, DIY, and possibly Harrods, Space NK, Liberty?

On 1st December, the opening threads start, I’ll ask MN to update this post with links.

If you’re looking to continue the chat beyond BACs there is the Beauty chat thread here by @OvaHere : https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5444855-beauty-chat-freebiesgifts-with-purchaseoffers-thread-six

Both threads are quite spendy, be warned!

In other news, the first delivery of my cheese advent calendar arrived today. It’s taking a lot of will power to leave it unopened until Monday - I might be more excited about this than the BACs

Is that Paxton and Whitfield? It looks amazing. But I couldn’t eat that much cheese!

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 28/11/2025 13:38

The allbeauty 12-day calendar is now £67.95.

MiaN · 28/11/2025 13:50

I got the HN beauty. WIth 30% off it was a great temptation! I am little nervous as I bought it from the shop floor and last year people had issues with used item so I will be checking everything tonight

AprilLady · 28/11/2025 13:53

@BakeOffRewatch yes, it’s the Paxton and Whitfield. I love cheese, as does DH, and two of the DC, so I think it will definitely all get eaten.

I've just bought the Boots Skincare AC for £56 with SAVE20.

I've just bought another at 56 having bought at 70 2 days ago. I'm planning to return the £70 one if i can ...along with an impulse £30 spent on Tuesday .

wohmum · 28/11/2025 14:27

@Growlybear83
That’s a lovely story.

The amount of potential wastage and land fill from BACs is mad.
I always donate my unwanted items to a local women’s refuge.
This solves the wastage but not the land fill element.
No simple answer for this other than all beauty companies manufacturing recyclable packaging.

i've just ordered and received the samples pack from Upcircle, which promises recyclable packaging and more sustainable products .. If they are decent products i;m going to tray and switch to them once I have got through the ridiculous mountain of stuff i;ve ordered!

@wohmumI did this a few weeks back when it went came down in price, no issue from my local Boots in accepting the return with proof of purchase.

wohmum · 28/11/2025 14:38

thanks @MrsBnow12 , that's good to know.. i definitely don't need 2!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 28/11/2025 14:49

I see the JL Home Fragrance AC is down from £120 to £84. I'd probably buy at the £70 mark if it goes down further. My ussue is that the candles are all small this year. Nice box, mind.

I've resisted all other ACs. I really wanted Vogue, Fenwick and possibly JL. Now two are sold out and ones reduced I'm like 'Meh, didn't need or want at all really' Mind, I absolutely scalped Vinted last month and ended up with four separate bargain pots of Frankincense intense which was mostly what I wanted anyway.

😮 Dior has always been the unattainable dream BAC for me and my DD

Cyclingmummy1 · 28/11/2025 15:07

£122.50 direct frm Espa. But will it arrive for Monday?

QueefofSheena · 28/11/2025 15:31

BLC brings Debenhams AC down to £102

Probably doesn't matter. I don't think most people buying very reduced BACs the last weekend in Nov are wedded to opening them from the 1st. 😂I'd like to think not anyway because it's cutting it fine seeing as the first advents went on sale in July.

BadgerFace · 28/11/2025 17:23

Mejera · 28/11/2025 14:46

Lumene advent calendar now £50 buying direct 😅

https://uk.lumene.com/products/8644600

I've ordered, even though it'll arrive after Monday - and will return the one i got from Amazon.

Argh after wobbling on Boots skincare at £56 now I’ve cracked and bought Lumene at £50 to add a third calendar to my stash. I really ought to learn to stop reading these threads after the first BAC purchase! 😂

CocoMascara · 28/11/2025 18:34

Thanks to pp for posting about the Jarrolds kit with the Elizabeth Scarlett bag. What an absolute bargain! I’ve just treated myself after seeing the HN BAC has sold out. I’d been watching it like a hawk, hoping for it to go to 50% off, but am very happy with the kit instead - and saved a bit too!

Talisin · 28/11/2025 18:57

M&S appears to have finally sold out. I bet they’re relieved - it was getting embarassing.

Northernfashionista · 28/11/2025 19:21

Debenhams down to £106.20 on their TikTok shop. Quite a few nice items for the price.

buzzing · 28/11/2025 20:46

toooldforbrat · 27/11/2025 21:47

I do - every couple of months for about 20 years.

i have a mix if treatments depending on skin, time of year etc . Sometimes peels, sometimes dermaplane, or others with lights…. I have been going to same person for yonks and she does whatever she thinks is best.

I would definitely have regular facials - they seem to get deeper into the skin than I can at home & the massage is lovely.

I think that's what I need... someone to get to know me / my skin, though I appreciate that doesn't happen overnight. And then a facial that feels a bit "extra", something I couldn't recreate myself. I had one a couple of weeks ago that basically felt like lots of different moisturisers followed by a sheet mask. And while it was relaxing, I did think after that for £80 I could have bought a pretty nice cream myself. Granted, I wouldn't have spent an hour rubbing it into my face, but whatever.

Thanks for the advice and thoughts... back to the BAC chat. I've got GB & M&S to start opening on Monday. Cannot remember a thing that's in either of them so am very much looking forward to the little daily treats.

I’m very tempted by the JL home fragrance at this price. I was looking at it a few days ago, I think it was approx £99 then

I also decided the other day that I may benefit from a wine calendar! I rarely drink these days, but a few little bottles to try might be nice 😁

DH saw this cheese advent calendar in Sainsbury’s today £13 https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/the-crafty-herd-cheese-advent-calendar-400g

  1. Cheddar With Apple, Onion & Sage
  2. Cheddar with Garlic & Herbs
  3. Mature Cheddar With Pineapple
  4. Mediterranean Cheddar
  5. Red Leicester With Black Pepper & Garlic
  6. Cheddar With Sriracha & Honey
  7. Truffle Cheddar
  8. Cheddar With Peri Peri
  9. Wensleydale With Mango & Ginger
  10. Wensleydale With Mango & Orange
  11. Wensleydale With Chocolate & Orange
  12. Speculaas Flavoured Wensleydale With Caramel Toffee and Maple Syrup
  13. Wensleydale with Panettone Inspired Fruits & Flavours

I like Wensleydale but not such a fan of cheddar. Not sure about speculaas cheese, but if the trickle is the panettone fruit one that sounds lovely.

It was a big error on their part not only increasing the AC price but also the qualifying cost too. Hopefully they’ll learn for next year.

I saw that yesterday too. It looked very small. I'll be checking back on Monday / Tuesday next week when they arr hopefully flogging them for a fiver! 😋
