Vinted sizing change!!

Aaargh!! WTF have they done?!

it was terrible before but now it’s going to be absolutely impossible to find the right size.

now if I want a size 14 I can only choose medium which will show me all size 12 and 14s. 🙈🙈

Was about to post this myself! I’ve got stuff listed for a size 28-30 or something now that is an 18! What a mess.

This is a good change! Finally the SML sizes equate to the proper dress sizes. There’s no way a 10 should ever have been listed as a Medium for example. A medium is indeed 12-14 so I think this is a fantastic change.

Except that I can no longer search for a single size, and any search will bring up 50% of items that won’t fit me. The only way to tell which ones will be ok is to check each listing, hoping they’ve put the actual size in the description and included a picture of the label to verify that.

I just bought something that is sized as a 12 and it was listed at 16-18, luckily I knew exactly what I wanted but otherwise, there's no hope of searching like this.

I think it’s an improved relationship between number and letter sizes. But they’ve assumed that the letter size was correct in existing listings, and then updated all the numbers. Which is bonkers, surely most clothes listed on there were accurate to the number size!

What a mess Vinted have got into. Have spent last half hour editing all my clothing sizes. Why can’t they just have individual sizing I,e, 10,12,14 etc Everyone will now have to edit all their clothing sizes what an utter fiasco Vinted

I search by number sizes 14, I'm pretty much a true 14, possibly a 16 in old money. I can't be searching from 12-22 which is the current range of 14 size clothes!

I didn't like 14 being an XL, but at least I could bloody find the right size. I don't want to wade through all the 12s to see the 14s, why can't they just list the bloody size it says on the label. I won't buy anything until they have sorted it out.

It's certainly not universal but Next, H&M, Next for instance all use S = 8-10 M = 12-14.

I don't think that many brands say S = 8, M = 10, L = 12 which was the universal vinted assumption until now.

It would be MUCH better if you could list items by the actual size given on the label.

I'm not sure their new approach is going to help me that much as I normally fall between 10 and 12. If S and M now cover the range of 8-14 it's going to throw up loads of clothes which are an 8 or a 14 which will definitely not fit me.

So annoying! I’ve been trying to find some size 12 jeans today and getting 8s and 10s.

What a mess - feeling relieved I trawled a ton of cardigans last night before it changed!

It doesn’t though. An XL is not equivalent to a size 20-22 in any uk clothing shop!!

I've never used Vinted, so apologies if this is a silly question, but don't you have the opportunity to include the garment's actual measurements in the description?

I have just started going through my listings and amending all the sizes of my stuff in line with the new system. I didn't like the old system but Im not sure that this one is any better. Why oh why is it so hard to just list a '12' or a '14' or a medium etc

Yes, the sensible sellers do, which is great. The problem is now when you want to search for a specific size, they now put a Small as an 8-10 etc so that Next dress you like in a 10 now brings up all the 8s as well. Very tedious

I cant search anything anymore. I want to look at just 14s but cant. Its a fucking mess.
I cba to resist my 14smfor sale currently listed as 22s but the message ive had says thisbis here to stay.

It’s frankly bloody ridiculous. What is so hard about just listing numerical sizes and S/M/L as separate options and making it clear you’re to list the items as it states on the label?! I’ve just hidden all my items for sale as they’ve gone completely bloody haywire.

They've really misunderstood their typical female customer (at least in the UK). Trying to align lettered and numbered sizing is one thing, but grouping numbered sizes together like this just doesn't reflect how we shop or search for clothes.

I wonder how many women were involved in this decision. I'm imagining a group of male software engineers patting themselves on the back for managing to neatly align the letters and numbers across the full range of sizes, and completely overlooking the fact that this is now going to make for a horrible user experience and probably lose them a lot of future sales.

Thank you OP for highlighting this change. I’ve been through and adjusted my listings. I do put a picture of the labels so the buyer can see.

Nothing for sale on there at the moment but have bought in the past, Won't be again until they sort it out. The need to ditch the L/m/XL/XXL stuff entirely for women's wear and stick to 8, 10, 12, 14 etc.

I had similar thoughts about the sex of the developers who made this change. Clearly no UK women consulted.

I thought I was going mad! I was searching for size 14 and it gave me all size 20s. Some coats I had favorited were now showing as size 26 (instead of large).

I cannot believe they’re doubling down on this. Asking sellers to go through and change all their items. What about buyers who now can’t find anything they want because all items are listen incorrectly?!

im done with Vinted. Can anyone recommend alternatives?
