Sporty thong back swimsuit

24kPalamino · 01/11/2025 17:02

Looking for a swimsuit that isn’t too low cut, that has a sporty look and a thong bottom.
struggling to find something sporty enough.
If anyone has seen or purchased something like this, then I’d appreciate a recommendation.

Many thanks!

I googled brazillian cut swimsuit and iswym - it's not a thong, just high legs on the bum.

The 4th pic to come up was this - any good OP? 😆

Im still really confused about whether OP wants an actual thong (as in a literal string between arse cheeks) or just a very high leg cut over the bum?

I'm intrigued as I've never seen a sporty up top/ thong on the bottom suit.

Wouldn't a thong chafe on a 6 mile paddle?

Oh I love it! Very festive. Hopefully this one has a G string back made from tiny jingle bells and red ribbon. 😂

You could clutch those jingle bells with your arse tighter than some are clutching their pearls in this thread 😉

A cheeky one piece for bad ass mermaids. Low cut front, crossover back, high cut legs and cheeky bottom.

Looks uncomfortable on the model and she’s just gazing out sea. Good luck with that.

24kPalamino · 02/11/2025 20:45

I have a bunch of those bodysuits from Newlook. They are tops with a thong bottom and poppers, so they pull taught under trousers. I wear them often, to work even. They are comfortable and functional. I can’t imagine a swimsuit being a major problem by comparison, and the swimsuit hasn’t got as narrow a thong back either.

Gosh, I had those body things in the 90s, no idea they were still a thing. God, they were uncomfortable, and that was without a ‘thong bottom’. The only plus was the poppers that meant you could have a wee without completely stripping off.

I was thinking the same thing - how anyone could describe them as comfortable I don’t know! Maybe the thong bottom makes a difference.

It’s definitely the thong bottom. Having a thong means that there’s no bunching up of the fabric around your bottom area.

It’s the same with this swimwear. If I need to put my wetsuit on, for example if the water is quite cold then it’s going to be more comfortable and practical not to have bunching. I understand not everyone is going to get it or accept this. It’s personal preference and just how I feel.

If it makes some people feel better, I’m going to be on a paddleboard, and it’s not in a place where there are likely to be families around. It’s not like going to a local lake with a picnic and a paddle board for some recreation. It’s more like rivers through the wilderness, with rapids and not a lot of people around. Last time I was at my one particular favourite place and I can’t remember if we saw anyone else actually.

Although I don’t judge people who wear skimpy swimwear around the pool, I believe people should wear what they’re comfortable in,
you’d be unlikely to see me there. Mainly because I haven’t got the patience to lie down and sunbathe.

No I won't cover up. I like wearing cheeky swimwear. Soz hun

Good for you. The multiple nudist beaches will be glad to host you.

Oh what? It’s only “cheeky” when the swimsuit highlights how risqué you are being?

wearyourpinkglove · 02/11/2025 21:46

I'm really surprised at all the negative comments. I don't see how wearing a thong on the beach is any different to having your cleavage or stomach out?

OP if I had a nice bum (I don't) I would wear a thong on the beach too and I would do it for the male gaze and I would enjoy the attention. I however, am comfortable with taking my top off on the beach but I don't do that for the male gaze I just find it more comfortable than wearing a bikini. Wear what you like, you don't have to justify yourself to anyone.

I get that, actually. The odd time I’ve worn a wetsuit I’ve found it far more comfortable to wear a bikini underneath - less fabric for the wetsuit to cling to.

Glad you’ve found something that works for you in terms of both looks and practicality; it is difficult to get both in swimwear.

Arrrrrrragghhh · 02/11/2025 21:50

Why do you need a nice bum to wear thongs if it’s all about the comfort and empowering choice.🤔

If you don't have a nice bum and want to wear one then have at it- that's your choice. I don't like my bum and would prefer to keep it covered. However I do wear "cheeky bum" knickers under clothes because I find them very comfortable.

RhymeOrRaisin · 02/11/2025 22:29

You should wear whatever you want to wear, but from a sun safety perspective, (and in my experience of paddle boarding in similar temps) a long sleeved rash vest made of wicking swimsuit material is no hotter than a bikini top and much better for your skin. It sounds like you care about your appearance (me too!) and sun is so aging.

RampantIvy · 02/11/2025 22:43

I think I would feel rather vulnerable paddle boarding through rapids wearing just a swimsuit. I would want more protection from grazes I might incur if I fell off.

itsgettingweird · 02/11/2025 20:19

You are right they aren’t.

But the paper said it was acceptable for men to wear tight fitting swimwear. Not it was unacceptable to wear thongs.

Hence why I and many other posters are questioning their opinion because it’s pretty standard in pools up and down the country.

Tight fitting swimwear isn't a thong.

Having a preference not to see arse cheeks isn't 'clutching pearls'.

You have zero right to dictate what other people should wear. OP didn't come here asking for randomers' swimsuit preferences, but for recommendations for a swimsuit of certain style/cut.

Don't like it? Don't look. I strongly believe OP won't be shoving her arse in anyone's face.

This sight is usually up in arms when someone suggests that women should cover up their assets (sorry) if they don't like men perving over them. They can wear whatever they want! They can walk naked and no man has a right to touch them/perve over them! Well, same goes for other women. Don't like it - don't perve.

Love the suit you've bought, OP, and I'm a granny pants/boring-lots-of-coverage swimsuit gal myself. But if you like it and feel comfortable in it - that's what matters.

The funniest are the ones 'concerned about OP's health'. Yea, because if you just cover your arse, you won't get skin cancer, apparently. Same as the ones dissing fat people are always only about the 'pressure on the NHS', of course.

The thing is, when people live quite an outdoorsy lifestyle, there’s always going to be sun exposure and an element of risk. It’s part and parcel. But there are so many health benefits to that lifestyle as well. It’s impractical to wear full coverage when you’re basically exercising in 37 degree weather, but I’m as responsible as possible with sunscreen.

That’s me told!
You're right, though. As a slightly older person, I worry about such things because when I was young the dangers of sun exposure weren’t widely known. Of course they are now. Sorry.
As for to thong or not to thong, well if I still had a young, firm bum I probably would 🤣

Hence why we all said tight fitting swimwear is fine and acceptable and the norm.

To the poster who said it’s unacceptable. Are you this obtuse in RL 🤷‍♀️

Ok, I'll just sit quietly in the corner next time.

notacooldad · 03/11/2025 08:24

Bloody hell, posters are still getting confused between what is a style and beauty thread and the AIBU page 😆 🤣

Its pointless having separate topics if posters are just going to spout their irrelevant opinions and hijack threads.

I found some on Amazon as well as Etsy that may be ok.
