Sporty thong back swimsuit

24kPalamino · 01/11/2025 17:02

Looking for a swimsuit that isn’t too low cut, that has a sporty look and a thong bottom.
struggling to find something sporty enough.
If anyone has seen or purchased something like this, then I’d appreciate a recommendation.

Many thanks!

Mosconi race suits were always good for more muscular shapes - and Dolfin Uglies were the go-to for training suits for every shape and size.

Just to clarify, some of them wore a higher cut, but never a thong style.

Thank you. That’s very kind.

I’m not saying I have a nice bottom mind 😂 It’s probably average at best. I’ve definitely not been religiously squatting or anything!

Perhaps I will now that I know I’m being judged!!

To be fair I’m all in favour of wearing what you want and feeling confident but come on, you can’t possibly think people aren’t looking/Staring/judging when you have your literal ass out 😂😂 It’s just part of the deal. I’m not an ass person but love a deep plunge neckline which is sort of the top half equivalent and I just take it for granted that I’m weighing up the risk of being judged as a sort of trade off??

but what I actually came to suggest was thong bikini bottom and a decent sports bra! I find a bikini bottom and sports bra combo way more comfy for water sports as doesn’t get pulled around or twisted in the same way

There's every reason for people to question whatever they chose, particularly when many women have been conditioned into certain ways of thinking. That's feminism and empowerment.

well, quite literally, no 😂

cant argue with blatant deliberate ignorance. So you go about your day and I’ll continue to shop for thongs that showcase my fantastic arse.

SeaAndStars · 02/11/2025 10:58

Thanks for your reply @24kPalamino and I do take your point.

I worked outside all my working life and am also very outdoors oriented, often outdoors for 8 to 10 hours every day. You can always wear a hat. sunscreen clothes, long cotton shirts. I do take your point though. Stay safe - you'll thank yourself later on.

MrPickles73 · 02/11/2025 10:58

Back to the skin cancer thing.. if you're on the water for hours I would cover up more than less. Your ass will fry and you will look like a baboon..

Well, quite literally, yes, actually.
I fully support not arguing with ignorance.

Thong swimsuits are utterly revolting, why do u think random people want to see your arse? The people who do are pervy men.

To want that sort of attention is just tragic

Oh DFOD. There’s no reason for anyone to question anything. She asked for a recommendation not an opinion.

Anyway OP, I can’t find the link sorry!!!

DFOD is unnecessary. Suggesting that feminism is predominantly about choice is reductive - choice is important, but doesn’t trump the feminist principles driving @GehenSieweiter and others’ points, e.g. the freedom to question what may drive certain beliefs and behaviours such as why women’s clothing is typically more revealing than men’s in a society that is arguably still patriarchal. Questioning these things does not equate to criticising individual women for the choices they make within patriarchal structures; it’s about it opening up debate on the impacts of those structures at a societal level.

I don’t have an issue with thongs especially (life is too short to worry about anything and everything that could be problematic for women) and have worn revealing clothing myself on many occasions, but that doesn’t mean I don’t retain the right to question what drives and conditions women, including myself, to make such choices. It’s intellectually lazy to reduce feminism to choice alone; as an example, it reminds me of the early noughties when it was uncool to question glamour modelling, because the dominant media narrative were that these women were exercising their freedom to choose. Of course, at a simplistic level they absolutely were, but that simplistic narrative made it more difficult to look at the wider beliefs and attitudes driving this equivalence between female objectification and empowerment. That’s just an example (and I have no issue with celebrating and enjoying sexuality in a society where the founding principle is one of genuine equality between men and women) but excessive focus on choice at the expense of what drives our choices risks shutting down important, nuanced debate about how we make the world better for all women.

Why flash your bum cheeks instead of your boobs ?

I’m on a beach holiday now and been wondering the same thing - topless to avoid tan lines I get - women walking around with bums hanging out usually next to hubbies wearing trunks almost down to their knees I don’t get. I could never imagine a man walking around in budgie smugglers g strings. It’s like the sexualisation of women is so deep rooted in all societies.
I bet if it was a thing for men to walk around in budgie smugglers G strings there would be less beer bellies as no where to hide them in those.

Because that’s what on trend these days.

NashEnquirer · 02/11/2025 12:23

If everyone (including women) stopped the intense online judging of women for what they wear, then that'd probably make a lot less clickbait money for all the men in charge of the media empires, the agencies, the gossip sites etc. The whole industry literally thrives on judgement. So that's one option.

Yes, I know. There was one girl in DC’s squad that used to hook her training costume up between her arse cheeks and parade around the poolside.

Franjipanl8r · 02/11/2025 13:11

Step away from instagram and into the real world where thongs are unhygienic and unflattering to anyone apart from supermodels.

Sporty costumes flatter all body shapes, thongs not so much.

To you.

im not a pervy man and love to see a cracking arse in a nice thong. I also like looking hot. So there’s that.

LaserPumpkin · 02/11/2025 13:34

Of course people should be able to wear what they want, but - talking about thongs specifically, rather than high-cut swimwear - I don’t want to be swimming lengths behind someone potentially exposing everything at the back.

There’s a time and a place.

I'll just point out that if you overdo the sum you'll be in pain every time you sit down and clothes will be very uncomfortable.

Don't ask me how I know.

I agree that tanned skin looks nice but please be cautious about sun damage / skin cancer - it's just not worth the risk.

This. Cases rising rapidly as climate change ramps up.

Thank you, I can imagine!
I do use a good waterproof factor 30 or 50 depending on the UV index and to be honest, I don’t really burn.

In fact the last time I burned was in the UK! It wasn’t a particularly hot day and I wasn’t wearing any sunscreen due to it being a little overcast that morning. I fell asleep on my mums patio furniture and woke up hours later with burned forearms! Now I wear sunscreen here too particularly through the summer months, even when it’s cooler.

The thing is, when people live quite an outdoorsy lifestyle, there’s always going to be sun exposure and an element of risk. It’s part and parcel. But there are so many health benefits to that lifestyle as well. It’s impractical to wear full coverage when you’re basically exercising in 37 degree weather, but I’m as responsible as possible with sunscreen.

Arseless chaps to work made me giggle.

I am surprised. I felt confident enough to ask because there’s another thread running where the general consensus is to wear whatever you feel good in and don’t worry about what people think. So I thought I was safe.

Not sure people meant this re shoving your arse in their faces.

itsgettingweird · 02/11/2025 17:13

Have a look at the amanzi tie back costumes. They are training costumes but are well known to go up the arse 😂

BigGirlBoxers · 02/11/2025 17:14

Yuck. Not sure that any thong swimsuit could look sporty. Surely 'sporty' implies practical, more concerned with activity than with parading a bottom.

Funny though, if a man shopped for speedos or manikini’s to showcase his fabulous attributes, he’d likely be reported to the authorities.

men in close fitting swimwear is not acceptable. Personally I don’t like thong swimsuits for the reason below, but I also disagree with double standards and no one can complain if men want to parade around in speedos either.

and I stopped my dc swimming when I found out the boys had a WhatsApp group on “ones to watch”. It wasn’t about talent, it was about when they turned 16.
