Do you wear leggings ?

I have worn them in the past with a longline jumper. When I say leggings, I mean the cotton type. Not something like Sweaty Betty lycra type leggings which in my mind are quite sculptured and shapely.

I only really wear them for exercising, I used to wear leggings/sportswear day to day but it made me feel quite sloppy.

No.

They are children’s clothes to me.

How bizzare. I love leggins as casual wear as they’re so comfortable, not too thick, not to hot. I wear with a long cardigan. I hate wearing jeans now as they’re too tight and uncomfortable and anything else feels too formal. Leggins all the way

RaraRachael · 30/10/2025 12:38

I wouldn't know what to wear as an alternative to leggings in the winter. I have great fleece lined ones from Primark that keep me lovely and warm.

Jeans are too cold and I didn't buy into the wide flapping leg trousers that were everywhere in the summer, not that they'd be very warm.

AtomicPumpkin · 30/10/2025 12:40

Only under clothing.

Strangesally20 · 30/10/2025 12:42

Very occasionally I wear them with an oversized denim or white shirt. I like the ribbed ones from next, nice and thick so no risk of them being see through! But generally I don’t as I just don’t find them particularly comfortable, much prefer wide legged joggers for comfort plus I hate not having pockets!

MoominMai · 30/10/2025 12:42

Yep.

Versatile and especially helpful whilst I’m trying to lose weight. I only wear the cosy jeggings from Primark which are thicker and my bum is always covered as I wear either with a longline jumper and boots in winter or longline plaid shirt and trainers in summer.

oustedbymymate · 30/10/2025 12:42

Yes but thick squat proof ones but I am not stylish at all

TheeNotoriousPIG · 30/10/2025 12:46

I only usually wear them for work (I need something comfortable enough to wear all day, and stretchy enough to cope with a manual job, as my jeans kept splitting at the crotch!), but I wear another layer (work wear) over the top. Sometimes I wear them if I'm having a day at home, but I would feel conscious of wearing them out and about, just in case they turned see-through when I was crouched down to inspect something in a supermarket!

DiscoBob · 30/10/2025 12:46

No. They're not comfortable, they feel almost as restrictive as tights. I don't understand people who like 'slobbing around' in leggings. To me it's too restrictive. I wear baggy trackie bottoms and going out I wear wide jeans or baggy combat type pants.

Char345y · 30/10/2025 12:48

Yes Jean style ones from next £22 pound love then look like jeans cheap and comfy

Lifeisnotalwaysfair · 30/10/2025 12:50

Yes all the time. I'm appleshaped with slim legs. Anything else now feels tight around the tummy and waist. I know I supposedly shouldn't but I can't find anything more comfortable.

3beesinmybonnet · 30/10/2025 12:51

Yes but only with a top that covers my bottom so anything from tunic to midi length. I'm short and find just above the knee dresses suits me best, preferably with boots.

I also wear jeans and loved wearing wide-legged trousers in summer but they're not really practical in winter wind and rain.

I'm old enough to laugh in the face of the fashion police.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 30/10/2025 12:53

No only for the gym

TimSamandLulu · 30/10/2025 12:53

No. Briefly when I was pregnant or post partum around 10 years ago, worn with tunic topics, which was already a look that was out of fashion then.

TheAphrodite · 30/10/2025 12:54

yes absolutely love them, especially the thermal ones. Leggings are nice to wear with a baggy jumper. just make sure your bum isnt showing and it's fine.

Meadowfinch · 30/10/2025 12:55

Only for running/cycling.

Catonacoldfridgefreezer · 30/10/2025 12:55

I wear a thin pair to bed but would love a thermal pair - Can anyone recommend some that aren’t too pricey?

I ordered supposedly thermal ones off the Internet, can't remember the brand but they weren't much use.

I swear by Primark fleece lined ones, just wish they had more colours. They also have back fleece lined tights which are great too.

WFHforevermore · 30/10/2025 13:02

Absolutely! all the time! Spanx ones are pricey, but amazing, i love them

InBedwiththeBeddie · 30/10/2025 13:05

Yes, mainly for dog walking. Got a lovely fleece-lined pair for the cold mornings and I've never been so toasty. Don't really care what they look like when they're so warm!

Starlight1984 · 30/10/2025 13:06

Yes every day when I'm home. Although I probably wouldn't wear them so much if it wasn't for dog walking...

Mrsnothingthanks · 30/10/2025 13:08

Yes and I don't care what anyone else thinks -too old for that at 44! Perfect for my work (SEND/EOTAS Tutor) and for home life with a 5 yo.

RaraRachael · 30/10/2025 13:10

As long as I've got a long top to cover my bum I'll carry on wearing my leggings.

At my age I don't give a stuff about trends

BitOutOfPractice · 30/10/2025 13:11

No. Only for the gym. Very very occasionally at home.
