Holy grail of lip balms

happygertie · 21/10/2025 21:45

This time of year my lips get so dry which I absolutely hate! I can’t bear dry lips, I have over a dozen lip balms in the go and use laneige lip mask before bed every night but nothing is working right now. I am definitely hydrated so it isn’t that.

I don’t care about the cost, can anyone recommend the world’s most hydrating lip balm?

Blitzeze-white tube with red lid. Then Carmex once that’s soaked in. It’s minty, a bit stingy but the best lip combo ever.

Dr Sams. Great dermatologist on harley street that has her own line. I have used her for years and she transformed any major skin concern I have had. Her lipbalm is around 13 pounds I believe, lasts a long time. Have used every other one under the sun from super expensive to cheap but this one is the best one. https://drsambunting.com/products/flawless-lip

Good old Carmex in the wee pot. Never fails me.

Doobeedoobeedoobee · 21/10/2025 21:49

Carmex is the best imho!

ThatsNotMyNameAlan · 21/10/2025 21:49

Blistex lip cream in the tiny tube. Can’t be beaten.

HermioneWeasley · 21/10/2025 21:50

8 hour cream

Lanolips multi balm is AMAZING! So hydrating as it's basically pure lanolin with a tiny bit of fragrance. I put it on throughout the day, and thick like a mask at night. Struggled with sore, dry, chapped lips for years before finding this. Not found anything better.
And... they've just come out with more scents too- I recommend strawberry but have just got peach and it's lovely.😍

magpie234 · 21/10/2025 21:52

Nuxe! But honestly good old Vaseline is what loads of dermatologists recommend. It traps the moisture in your lips.

Babyswearing · 21/10/2025 21:53

Nuxe reve de miel but only from the jar. The chap stick type is a different formula and it's not as good. Thick, non greasy, non sticky, lasts all day, and works well under makeup. I kissed a lot of frogs to find it and will be devastated if it ever goes out of production.

Carmex! It tingles for a few seconds but not in a bad way. Nice satin shine too. Never had dry lips in 15 years since using the stuff!

JazzyBBBG · 21/10/2025 21:56

Egyptian magic cream

Werp · 21/10/2025 21:58

Carmex or blistex in the pot. I usually like more natural products and have tried lanolin and all sorts as I get very chapped lips but really those two are the best. Got to be a pot not a stick though

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 21/10/2025 22:02

Blistex in the metal tube with the red cap and nuxe Miele de reve in a glass jar combined.

This is my favourite too.

BlueEyedBogWitch · 21/10/2025 22:03

Nuxe or Bioderm.

frugalkitty · 21/10/2025 22:04

Burts Bees with dark blue lid day to day but Blisteze cream tube, red lid if they're sore!

MerylSqueak · 21/10/2025 22:05

Dr Lipp. I used the pink one at might and on my hands and the black one at work. I've had eczema and dry skin for 30 years and these are the dog's bollocks.

Palmer's cocoa butter always does the trick for me. Or a bit of lansinoh when breastfeeding!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/10/2025 22:11

I use Laneige sleeping mask overnight and find I usually don't need anything else in the day unless it's dry and windy, in which case I use Nuxe reve de miel (glass jar, I haven't tried the stick version).

My favourite flavour Laneige is vanilla, but the matcha is pretty good too. My first choice would be unflavoured, but they don't seem to do that.

smilesy · 21/10/2025 22:13

Carmex in a pot. Cheap, easy to use, works a treat

MoominMai · 21/10/2025 22:13

@happygertie i had very chapped lips and a skin condition which I was sent to a hospital dermatologist about and he recommended his professions favourite Aquaphor Lip Repair. Fragrance and paraben free and just works.

Thanks so much all. I love eight hour cream for other things but can’t abide the taste so don’t use it on my lips. I’m pretty much going try all suggested that haven’t already

Lansinoh nipple cream on lips at bed time. That’s it. Nothing else is needed.

i currently use the laneige sleep mask in berry and the mango one but they aren’t doing the trick now the weather has turned and heating is on at work. I have tried their day lip balms too but not working for me.
