Holy grail of lip balms

happygertie · 21/10/2025 21:45

This time of year my lips get so dry which I absolutely hate! I can’t bear dry lips, I have over a dozen lip balms in the go and use laneige lip mask before bed every night but nothing is working right now. I am definitely hydrated so it isn’t that.

I don’t care about the cost, can anyone recommend the world’s most hydrating lip balm?

Nuxe ‘Rêve de Miel’ in a jar. Been using it for 25 years, and - imo- nothing else comes close. They did reformulate it about 10 years ago to make it less sticky, which I think was a shame, but it’s still good stuff.

O'Keefe's, it's fantastic!

Sun Bum Original Spf30 Sunscreen Lip Balm is worth a gander.

Another Nuxe fan here, and one jar lasts forever for me

Burt's Bees original in 'vanilla', the one with the navy lid, cheap anyway and regularly on 3 for 2.

It's just a really good product and stays on overnight without spreading everywhere.

I second the blisteze with the white tube / red lid, like a cream rather than a lip balm. Amazing stuff and properly soothes.

Byoma lip oil is amazing and only thing that keeps my lips hydrated for hours!

I also have these and I do absolutely love them! I got 2, one for my bag and one to keep in the car. However if the tube lays on it's side it leaks - and since it's so sticky it's a deal breaker for me, unless anyone has any tips on how to stop them leaking?!

Penhaligon’s lip balm this one specifically:

I've tried most lip balms - including more than half a dozen on this thread - and always, always conclude that Burt's Bees is the ONLY one that actually feels as though it's moisturising/hydrating my lips, rather than coating them with something.

Vaseline rose tinted lip balm in the ittle round pink tin. Lasts for ages, really keeps moisture in, is a nice base for lipstick.

Blisteze overnight, Pleasing Big Lip during the day.

curious79 · 22/10/2025 00:16

Starface balm. I don’t mind if gets in my mouth

Chinapattern · 22/10/2025 00:19

Bepanthen at night only as it has a white cast but great for dry lips!

Blahblahmama1 · 22/10/2025 00:21

Nuxe

Rawleighs ointment. Look online. A New Zealand product. See if they ship to you. You won’t look back. I use it for everything.

Rituals repair lip balm is divine and healed my lips very well after becoming severely chapped on holiday

paristotokyo · 22/10/2025 02:49

O’keeffes overnight treatment lip balm! The one in a round pot, not tube. Truly one of the best I’ve used

DrowningInSyrup · 22/10/2025 04:13

Carmex is actually really bad for your lips long term and full of irritants. On top of that it does nothing for me. Palmer's Cocoa butter lip balm in a tube or good old chapstick are my favourite. I love the cherry one, but stick to non perfumes if you have sensitive skin.

I didn’t realise the red lid Blistex was back. I’ve been missing it like crazy so I’ll have to get some. I also swear by it when you have a cold and end up with a dry, chapped nose during it.

For lips I also love these lip butters from Blushberry. I usually prefer ones in tubes but I make an exception for these as I’m badly prone to dry lips and these last for ages and feel really nourishing.

I found that carmex makes my lips shed.

I’ve tried Vaseline, blistex, any moisturiser and a few others. I just thought my lips were always going to be chapped.

Then I tried avene lip balm. My lips were so soft and stayed soft.

Eucerin Acute Lip Balm, the one for very dry lips. It’s amazing stuff

Vaseline is petroleum, so whilst it is a good lubricant again is not good gor your lips. Hydration and Vitamin C E & D are also a necessity
