IF YOU ARE NEW TO BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDARS AND WOULD LIKE IDEAS PLEASE READ THE THREAD FIRST

Annual Style and Beauty Advent Calendar discussion thread. First AC reveal this year was 23rd June. First luxury reveal was 2nd July.

Thread 1: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5360770-2025-style-and-beauty-advent-calendar-discussion

Thread 2: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5388836-2025-style-and-beauty-advent-calendar-discussion-spoilers-thread-2

Thread 3: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5396898-2025-style-and-beauty-advent-calendar-discussion-spoilers-thread-3

Thread 4: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5403558-2025-style-and-beauty-advent-calendar-discussion-spoilers-thread-4

The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

There’s a separate thread for GWP, discounts and other deals here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5389635-beauty-chat-freebiesgifts-with-purchaseoffers-thread-four

A thread for the Liberty Beauty Drop here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5253698-liberty-beauty-drop-spoiler-from-the-despatch-date-part-9

MN has a great Christmas board for deals and early gift buying here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas

I’ve also had a reply from Sephora; apparently there will be a second parcel with the calendar in it. I’ll keep this thread posted.

MentyB · 19/09/2025 17:57

With LF customer service, the best thing to do is leave a trust pilot. You should get a better response.

Thelifeofawife · 19/09/2025 18:22

@OvaHere I love that Elemis x Harrods collab. Bit out of my price range though as I wouldn’t use some of the products

RainbowZebraWarrior · 20/09/2025 07:38

Who mentioned in the last few days how to get the Nuxe calendar at a good price? I've read back 10 pages and can't find anything. I have a feeling it might have been @OvaHere ?
Best deal I can come up with so far is £91 on Escentual with a free Nuxe mini discovery set GWP

Thanks in advance for any help!

The best I saw was on CB , a 15% discount plus 2 GWP’s ( gummies and a Nuxe anti ageing set ) so your offer is slightly better depending on the gift

Sunnydaysarehereonceagain · 20/09/2025 07:55

Late joining, but I’ve been quietly following these threads. Having been totally underwhelmed by this years advent offerings (advent fatigue as I usually buy at least 3 or 4?) I’ve splashed out on the Elemis x Harrods offering. Pricey, but I’ll use everything other then the facial oils which are, thankfully, tiny sizes with a low rrp. That should keep me stocked in skincare for a good while, though I am sort of drawn to Fortnums (for the bath / body stuff 🤣

diamondsandrose · 20/09/2025 07:57

My reply to you @RainbowZebraWarriorhas been hidden because I used the word for jelly sweets!!
CB had 15% plus 2 GWPs making it 95
sorry don’t know the code but yours is better anyway !

Yes it was @OvaHere earlier in the week
I actually saved the info because I'm interested :

"Nuxe BAC 15% off at Cult Beauty with code BDAY15. Two gwp also added to basket."

Notino website had it reduced last year but I can't remember when they started offering a lower price.

Thanks. It looks like there's only one free gift now (a Nuxe roll on worth £7) as the other 'gift' is 50% off freddys flowers. Cost with 15% code = £95.20

The Escentuals deal is an £18 Nuxe GWP free and the cost is £90.71. No codes, they just appear to be selling the AC at a discount.

Thanks also to @diamondsandrose I'm pondering what the word for jelly sweet is. (It's probably blindingly obvious)

TrappedPotato · 20/09/2025 08:50

I’m tempted by the Winter Skin but the description doesn’t match the picture so not sure what’s in it. Has anyone bought it? Pic shows a Rituals scrub but description says hair and body mist.

diamondsandrose · 20/09/2025 08:58

@RainbowZebraWarrior one of the gifts was a trial pack of some kind of gum mi es 😜 and MN didn’t like it

IlovePond · 20/09/2025 09:13

That’s true @TrappedPotato - I would want the scrub, not the spray, (which is nice but I have lots already). Also - it says a pack of 4 scrunchies, when the picture shows a pack of one.

I admit I just assumed the picture was correct and the description wrong, but it could just as easily be the other way round.

Can anyone be bothered contacting JL?

It’s very sloppy of them and they are setting themselves up for lots of complaints.

Puravida23 · 20/09/2025 09:34

latest in beauty have released further details of their advent. A deep dive into tick tok . I think it will be priced at £150 but with LIB there will be discount codes and almost certainly under £100 by November on tic tok . Not for me but might appeal to a younger market if you are looking for late teens/20s for a less spendy advent
The Monday product not shown here is 3 items so possibly shampoo conditioner and mask or finishing item full size. Sensory retreats is a heated eye mask , skin cycles is an under eye mask , there is some Kind collegen patches and a set of spectrum make up brushes and this works is the sleep body cocoon body lotion , the coats product I think is a clay cleanser. Don't know about the rest

Yes it was me. It was a few days ago when there was a double gwp offer plus discount. Seems like that's ended now which is a shame, it was a good offer if you like Nuxe.

I’ve ordered winter skin and it’s been dispatched so will let you know what I end up with! I expect it’s the scrub because the description is for the scrub, only the title in the description is wrong.

Branster · 20/09/2025 12:15

@Puravida23 I agree it will probably be around the £100 mark with various discounts
A couple of images from LiB in a part reveal email from this morning, it might take a bit of time to upload

Thanks @MidnightMeltdown - will be interested to know.

I have just ordered the Boots no7 skincare bundle just because it was ‘only’ £35 🙈 so I shouldn’t buy anything else!

Pigeonwing · 20/09/2025 12:36

I would go with the picture. I ordered the relaxation set, which says four scrunchies in the description but shows one in the pic. It arrived yesterday and contained one scrunchie, as in the pic. I wasn't too fussed. Everything else was as expected.

IlovePond · 20/09/2025 12:49

@CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan - did your Rituals calendar turn up?

My Rituals calendar arrived today after Sephora responded to my query/complaint.

They could save themselves a lot of bother if they were just clearer about their delivery practices, as I have no idea if my order was originally meant to come in two instalments or not!

Having said that, they were good at contacting me quickly and I am very pleased with it for £71, (especially as I used £7 of my TCB PP credit to part-pay, making the balance £64).

It’s absolutely massive and quite pretty. Not reusable like previous Ritual calendars, but I think it will all be recyclable.

OvaHere · 20/09/2025 12:51

I ordered the rest and recharge set in the end from JL. I was disappointed it arrived this morning damaged. The candle was chipped and the wax had got all over some of the other products because it was just loose in the box. At the very least a glass candle needs to be boxed or in bubble wrap. Now trying to get past their chatbots to customer services.

IlovePond · 20/09/2025 12:54

Oh no, @OvaHere - do keep trying. I have recent experience of dealing with JL CS and have found that the ‘I am very disappointed. It’s not the sort of service I expect from JL’ often works wonders.

I am a firm believer in shoddy service/goods being politely called out EVERY time - it’s one of my new resolutions!

Do let us know how you get on.

Nightmare. I buy a lot of candles and that's my pet hate as its happened to me twice. They should be boxed, but never are in edits and ACs as they obviously try to shave pennies off by leaving them loose. Must cost them a fortune in refunds! Hope you end up getting it for nowt.

OvaHere · 20/09/2025 13:57

Thanks @IlovePond @RainbowZebraWarrior I am disappointed is exactly how I began. Tbh I am, it's the first time I've bought a JL beauty box and the tiny bit of shredded paper wasn't enough. The box was too big for all the items rattling round in it without extra protective packaging. Even the glass Aromatherapies oil wasn't bubble wrapped. Luckily that was fine otherwise the entire box would have been a mess.

I gave up on the chatbot and sent an email. I have a case number so I'll see what they say. I'm not after a full refund just an acknowledgement of the shoddy packing and maybe a small voucher to cover the damaged candle.

Pigeonwing · 20/09/2025 14:05

Oh yes, the shredded paper served no purpose whatsoever (see attached pic for anyone who is thinking of ordering).

I was surprised at the AA oil rattling about. They usually come in a sturdy little purple box but this was not protected at all. I was lucky but I wonder how many others will arrive damaged.
