Does it really look that bad?

I quite liked these trousers but both my DM and DH they didn’t do em any favours but I still liked them! So wanted to know other opinions :)

Why would your trousers need to do your mother and your husband favours?

They look like they are meant to be full length trousers, so too short.

They both said they looked too small and gave me a belly that I normally don’t have

They look too short and I don’t like the pattern but if you like them OP, wear them. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

I don’t mind them for a casual day.

Too tight, too short. You have a great figure but I'm sure you could get nicer trousers.

Your DM and DH are hallucinating or have very very odd ideas about what a normal body looks like if they think that those trousers “give you a belly”. They don’t.

They do look a size too small

I like the look on you, but they seem a bit tight at the top - maybe size up? That said, I never wear tight-fitting clothes, so my opinion is skewed. If you're comfortable, they're fine. I'd feel like I was in a strait jacket.

I think if they were in a lighter fabric and wide leg (Summery) they'd look great.

TBH I'm holding in my own tummy looking at the fit, they are a tad tight I think, and that's why your Mum and DH are saying you have a belly! You haven't compared to most, but bits can be emphasised when the fit is very snug.

They are too small - stretched across your hips and thighs. Other than that - the length isn’t fashionable (though the next size up might hang better) but they could be made to look stylish. Rather than a bright white top cutting you off in the middle, I would try them with a black or dark green sleeveless silk shift dress or sun dress that falls to just below your knees. And some gold kitten heel slingbacks.

They do look a bit tight round the hips, I prefer a more slouchy fit. Otherwise wear them if you want, you don’t look hideous or anything. I have a similar pair. Maybe different shoes. 🫣

Problem is a horizontal pattern around your stomach draws the eye there and then horizontally.

Thank you for all the compliments! They’re a size 10 and I used to be a size 8 however they’re from Mint Velvet and I think they run small.

I tried some jeans in size 10 at the same place and they were ok to a little too big so who knows!

the jacket is a size small and I think it fits.

Our DD said I looked like the Gilmore girls grandma so she also felt they weren’t “age appropriate “
