Anyone want to talk Autumn shopping wish lists?

I know it’s not even August yet, and I’ve still not gone on my summer holiday yet - but there’s a chill in the air, I’ve packed a box of freshly picked blackberries in the freezer for autumnal crumbles and while looking for school uniform today, noticed quite a few burgundy items in shop windows.

So what’s on your autumnal shopping list?

Im after a pair of black knee high boots. (My old ones finally had to be retired last year, beyond what could be repaired.)

I’ve just bought a dark brown cashmere jumper on vinted. Am now going to start the hunt for the perfect dark green cashmere jumper or cardie.

I think I need new work trousers but not sure what shape we’re doing this year. (Wide leg ? That doesn’t work well with puddles.)

Anyone else with a list for when the new season starts arriving in the shops?

Beginning to look for a dress or jumpsuit to wear for a late autumn corporate event. I'd like something I can wear to more casual events too. Will probably be in burgundy or green as they are two of my favourite Autumn colours.

Can't post any links for some reason but have my eye on a The Fold burgundy silk top but don't love the price tag. Waiting for The Fold to have a sale or my next pay day.

Am I the only one feeling uninspired by all the brown? I don’t mind brown tweed, but otherwise it’s not my cup of (light brown, Earl Grey) tea.

Same here. I like brown tweed or brown boots, but it doesn’t suit me or excite me for clothing. I much prefer grey, khaki or olive green for autumn.

Both lovely and just what I want but out of stock in my size. Sezane has some lovely trousers. I will look there again. They haven’t been much on my radar until now.

Haven't seen this before. Same looking shoes except wide and slim fit. Big price difference.?

I love olive green and burgundy in autumn.

I’m very happy that brown’s going to be around a bit longer. I’ve waited a long time. We must have had 20 years of grey.

I’m happy too, chocolate brown suits my red hair.

sorry for the brown haters, but black and grey are hard for me to carry off, brown’s a neutral we’ve not have a lot of for a while, it works with navy, green, burgundy, beige.

Bur I do hate a lot of the brown that’s around - this orangey “tobacco” shade that’s everywhere. I’m hoping for more dark chocolate shades.

Last time brown was a thing I treated myself to a silk cardigan from Hobbs in a really dark espresso shade and was dismayed when it got a stain down the front. I’ve not shopped in Hobbs for well over 2 decades so I know it’s taken at least that long for brown to come back and I’ve still not seen that shade yet. I don’t know why they make it so hard to find - it goes with so many other colours and it’s much nicer than black in my opinion.

I do love brown as a neutral but unfortunately it's a colour that does nothing for me whatsoever (Clear Winter.) It's nice to see something different though!

Me. I don't suit at all. I also don't suit black 94 khaki. I feel there won't be much around to choose from this Autumn and winter with yet more sludgy colours.

I'm very happy that Brown is back. Black & grey are too harsh & cool on me.
I suit virtually all shades of brown as a soft autumn. I used to always have a brown suede jacket on in pics from 40 odd years ago & my kids now wear my old ones from 20 years ago.I'm also very much embracing Rust & Khaki this coming Autumn.

With the weather this week, I'm mildly irritated that the autumn stuff isn't actually in yet, feels totally appropriate to be shopping for cooler weather.😡😆

@WoolerOwl- those are nice trousers. I might have to pop into whistles next week and see if they have them in stock. (Don’t know what size I’d be in whistles at the moment.)

Hi I’ve just picked up my black kilt from TU it’s amazing !! Not lined (of course for that price don’t expect it) but a fairly heavy fabric so hangs really well. Pleats are wide. Needs a good steam as was all scrunched up. Straps aren’t bad quality at all. I’m 5ft 6 and it’s about lower to mid calf on me. Everyone needs to get one ! I’m going to add a kilt pin to mine ! Just watched some episodes of the Wednesday series on Netflix and she’s wearing a lovely long pleated skirt with black brogues which looked good together.

Also on the label it says “matching item available” I’ll look and report back

Oooh! Looks good. Mine is ready to pick up when I get back from holiday. I have black platform brogues (Grenson sale last year) to wear with it. Waiting for thick tights weather though!

The Grenson sale is amazing. Prices nowhere near their usual ones and for shoes that still look like new a year later and should last for many years.
