Anyone want to talk Autumn shopping wish lists?

I know it’s not even August yet, and I’ve still not gone on my summer holiday yet - but there’s a chill in the air, I’ve packed a box of freshly picked blackberries in the freezer for autumnal crumbles and while looking for school uniform today, noticed quite a few burgundy items in shop windows.

So what’s on your autumnal shopping list?

Im after a pair of black knee high boots. (My old ones finally had to be retired last year, beyond what could be repaired.)

I’ve just bought a dark brown cashmere jumper on vinted. Am now going to start the hunt for the perfect dark green cashmere jumper or cardie.

I think I need new work trousers but not sure what shape we’re doing this year. (Wide leg ? That doesn’t work well with puddles.)

Anyone else with a list for when the new season starts arriving in the shops?

I still haven’t worn the kilt! I’m hoping it becomes a staple for autumn but I haven’t reached for it yet…

I'm still looking for the perfect bomber jacket....too many options and nothing has been that special so far.

It is. The angles make it difficult to see the length on the 5ft9 model, and there are no garment measurements, and only a standard length (whatever that means) available. But definitely not maxi.

Twice the price of the Sainsbury’s one (admittedly a bargain!) and it doesn’t look any nicer, either.

It's driving me mad that so many sites don't seem to give measurements this year. I don't want to know how tall the model is - she may have completely different proportions to me - just tell me how long the bloody item is! 😆

I would like some fine-knit jumpers. Not wool as that’s itchy. Yes, even merino. Yes, even cashmere. I want v-neck or square or scoop-ish. Not crew and def not polo/turtle.

In brown, burgundy, soft dusty pink, a good green, maybe a nice burnt orange.

That kind of thing.

I have these - can confirm they are long indeed, I struggle with getting trousers long enough (even though I don't think I'm THAT tall) but these will need to be turned up a decent chunk.

That’s lovely. I have a similar Maje kilt that I bought last year and have just re-bought in a smaller size when it popped up on The Outnet this week.

Also nice! I wore the Sainsbury’s one last night with a band t shirt, Chie Mihara boots and All Saints jacket and it got compliments. I must say it really works (but I am only 5.5) and it didn’t look ‘cheap’ compared to the other pieces!

Oh gosh, very similar desires, in almost exactly those colours; slash or boat or wide neck, maybe with puffed sleeves. Where are you no-wool fine knit!!

I’ve just bought a wool knee length black and white tartan kilt on Vinted for £6. 😊

Have you had a look at Albaray? I got this jumper recently (fine knit, not itchy, comfortable) and I’ve others from there in past seasons.

I know you said no merino, but have you tried Uniqlo’s merino jumpers? They’re easy on the itch factor for me.

Yes to this! My other pet peeve is that places like Zara have started to do some trousers in S,M,L. I mean, 10, 12, 14 etc. isn’t brilliant, but men usually get waist and leg lengths for trousers, so why can’t we?!?

I need to try to get to a Uniqlo but I’m not too optimistic, I can feel the itch even when I’m wearing something underneath! It just dulls it to just-about-bearable!

I’ve just bought a lovely check heritage style coat from F & F (too much Traitors!) and while I was in there I got an olive roll neck to wear under it and a burgundy satin cowl neck top which is beautiful for £5!

I also wanted a studded belt from Hush but it was £70, so I bought a really good dupe from Tu , in gold and silver for £5.10 each!
