Anyone want to talk Autumn shopping wish lists?

I know it’s not even August yet, and I’ve still not gone on my summer holiday yet - but there’s a chill in the air, I’ve packed a box of freshly picked blackberries in the freezer for autumnal crumbles and while looking for school uniform today, noticed quite a few burgundy items in shop windows.

So what’s on your autumnal shopping list?

Im after a pair of black knee high boots. (My old ones finally had to be retired last year, beyond what could be repaired.)

I’ve just bought a dark brown cashmere jumper on vinted. Am now going to start the hunt for the perfect dark green cashmere jumper or cardie.

I think I need new work trousers but not sure what shape we’re doing this year. (Wide leg ? That doesn’t work well with puddles.)

Anyone else with a list for when the new season starts arriving in the shops?

I’d like a skirt in a heavy fabric for work, maybe a pencil skirt (apparently they are coming back in?!)

Some tailored trousers in a winter fabric, maybe wool/tweed.

I’ve already ordered a smart black coat for work (MaxMara) from Vinted. It looks gorgeous and seller seems legit, so hoping I love it!

Brown is my absolute worst colour, sadly, but I read that ‘head to toe black’ and cherry red are also on trend for this winter…love both, so that’s encouraging.

Just ordered the Hush Millie skirt in plum. I bought the charcoal version last year and got way more wear out of it than I thought I would so I couldn’t resist it in one of my favourite colours.

Still looking for the perfect brown cord mini skirt, three years so far and the nearest I’ve come to finding one that ticks all the boxes was on Shein (it fell apart after about four wears). It’s a mission at this point.

Look on Vinted for seasalt knitwear- it often has merino in it which makes it really lovely and soft. Things like the Fruity jumper have been around for years and so you may well get some nice choices.
I find pure wool doesn’t really need a full wash, spot wash and hang up to refresh.

I’m getting the itch for Autumn now, much prefer it to Summer. I was having a browse of Brora’s new stock, and am very tempted by some of their leather boots 😍 Brora boots

This M&S black organza bomber is being my nemesis at the moment - not online (or I can't find it, and I have the code) and have been back in twice to get it with no luck.😡

(I am like a 2 year old having a tantrum when I can't get something I want.😆I'm sure it's just too early for it, rather than having missed the boat. If anyone sees it appear online, though ...)

Have ordered some Hobbs navy ankle boots though, which was something on my list. They'll come today, see what I think of them. Quite bargainous if they're good.

@WinWhenTheyreSinging it was in the huge Marks at London Colney yesterday, limited sizes, I can’t find it online either!!! FYI it comes up big, so I’d size down. Minute I see it online, you’ll be first to know, M & S next day delivery is back now too 🙌🏼

I really need new basics to be honest. I’ve sold so much on Vinted, I barely have any clothes left, ooops 😆 So I need to sit down and write a list and kind of start from scratch really. It feels refreshing though.

I am loving brown, cream, and plum this season.

They've had it in the Camberley branch, but only in bigger sizes.

@Mydoghealsmyheartthere's a very good seller of new M&S cashmere cardigans auctioning on eBay. He often seems to have larger sizes. I never buy second hand cashmere in case it introduces moths into my wardrobe. I have so much cashmere it would cause absolute devastation.

Bizarrely, I keep seeing these boots pop up at £129, instead of the £89 I ordered them at yesterday - so even more hopeful that I like them.

Also on the look out for a cord mini skirt or knee length, I’m after either brown, grey, or dark green.

I love this look. I have a beautiful crochet skirt that I only wear on holiday. This is a great way to wear it in cooler weather.

This is my year for new DMs. I'm eyeing the anistone pull on boot in tan at the minute.

I’m going to mostly be wearing dungarees, Lucy & Yak cropped-leg jumpsuits, and barrel cut trousers in different fabrics. And my 501s. I already have boots from last year which will be fine for this winter, but no actual shoes (I like a shoe when it’s too warm for boots and too wet for trainers).

@AlertCat these shoes are right up my street. How did I not know Birkenstock have shoes and boots?! What a revelation 😁

IKR!? Have you seen the shoe version of the famous Birkenstock clog (perimenopause means I can’t remember the name of the style 🤦‍♀️)? I’m torn between that and the one I posted.

@SunnyPrague have you seen the puff pants from Manners London? They’re very flattering once you work out where to wear them on your individual body, and super comfortable as well. They look quite smart with the right sort of top- but can be worn very casual too.

Can I join? Another one who’s lost a fair bit with MJ and is in need of a new wardrobe. When I’m fully awake tomorrow I will add a bit of a list but lurking for inspo too.

Be careful with DM’s and Birkenstocks from Vinted. Lots of fakes from Hacoo on there now.
