Anyone want to talk Autumn shopping wish lists?

I know it’s not even August yet, and I’ve still not gone on my summer holiday yet - but there’s a chill in the air, I’ve packed a box of freshly picked blackberries in the freezer for autumnal crumbles and while looking for school uniform today, noticed quite a few burgundy items in shop windows.

So what’s on your autumnal shopping list?

Im after a pair of black knee high boots. (My old ones finally had to be retired last year, beyond what could be repaired.)

I’ve just bought a dark brown cashmere jumper on vinted. Am now going to start the hunt for the perfect dark green cashmere jumper or cardie.

I think I need new work trousers but not sure what shape we’re doing this year. (Wide leg ? That doesn’t work well with puddles.)

Anyone else with a list for when the new season starts arriving in the shops?

Ive been on the hunt for a pair of navy ankle boots. Navy is obviously not in this year, as the choice has been rubbish.
Ive finally found a Spanish company that are selling some chunky heeled boots. Fingers crossed they will be ok.

Navy boots really are difficult every year. I ordered a couple of pairs in my hunt.

First ones (Hobbs) went back, as they were just a bit staid.

Ended up ordering and keeping these Jones ones, after noting and considering the reviews that the top is a bit solid - it is, but made sure to wear them a bit carefully at home first before committing to keep, and they're doing me fine.

Your Spanish ones look lovely for a more casual boot, really like them - report back on what they're like ...

Thr good thing about burgundy and brown is it stops me spending money. Burgundy makes me think of a particularly hideous school uniform plus it takes me back to the year of 1970 or thereabouts 😂 ! Brown is not for me even as a former Brownie plus having lived through the 1980s well .. no! It has surprised me how sheepish people are this year - how flooded the shops are with brown and how people are embracing it. They have really done a great job in prying the money out of our hands this winter!

I like toning colours- so for example find a top in a toning shade of pink would be nice. Or a neutral like warm grey.

I agree on the pink with maroon / dark red. Today I 'm wearing maroon trousers with a pale pink sweat shirt.

another agreeing with pale pink with maroon. As well as the grey suggestion, pale blue can look good. White and cream also would work. Perhaps if you got any of the sage green that was everywhere last year, try with the trousers, although this can depend on the shade of maroon you’ve got.

I love burgundy nd pale pink together. I’ve been trying to find a pale pink shirt that’s not got stripes though.

Hmm, pink. Pale pink is a little wishy washy on me but that’s definitely worth exploring further. I need to get all my autumn stuff down from the loft this week and see what I have. I made a start last week but only got as far as shoes, boots and coats!

I'm loving pink and burgundy and pink and brown together, sometimes all 3 😁 I've bought some wide leg leopard print jeans from next, which I'm going to pair up with a pink jumper from tu and a burgundy faux leather jacket from m&s 😍 ahhh!

I had a pair of burgundy / wine coloured velvet trousers which worked really well with grey. I either wore a darkish grey top which had a subtle shimmer to it or a paler grey sweater with some texture. Both worked really well. Sadly they are too big for me now otherwise they'd be on regular rotation this year.

Very boring purchase but I have found some lovely wool, cotton and cashmere mix socks which are wonderfully cosy. I suffer very badly from cold feet in winter but these feel toasty warm. Bargain too - £20 for 8 brand new pairs on vinted!

I've just bought this large fringed cashmere triangular scarf from Tk Maxx. It can be worn a multitude of ways & I'm a lover of fringing. I'm hoping this will be my only scarf purchase of the season. Joining my leopard cashmere bandanna I bought recently.

I’ve just tried a brown jumper dress on. It wasn’t pretty. I looked like a fat little monk.

Whether the world is ready for #MonkCore or not, the shops are intent on inflicting it upon us.

I’d really like to find a wool or wool mix jacket, single-breasted, and with a high/ funnel neck, not something with lapels. The kind of jacket that looks good worn casually with jeans or dressed up with smarter clothes. I did have the perfect one but I lost weight five years ago and since then I’ve been forever searching in vain.
The closest I’ve come recently was at John Lewis but it was just too short and boxy to be flattering.

This reminds me - I have a shades of brown cashmere given to me by a relative last year I must put on Vinted.
