Hi,

Here’s a new thread!

I got my partial refund for the Ikat jacket. Definitely worth checking what you have bought folks, to see if further reduced.

ScottishMouse · 03/07/2025 19:44

Jenny Sue Garcia has posted some photos on instagram wearing the cotton line. Smock top in green, the neckline sticks up weirdly on her too like it did on me. Is it really supposed to look like this??

I returned my birch gingham trousers and jacket today, and so I’ve bought nothing this sale, which is a first for me. I was wondering if anyone has the Fracap sandals in Sand? Are they as pink as they appear? They’ve been reduced again and I’m wondering if they’re worth a try.

@CakeAndJazz
I unpacked my Fracap sandals this morning in order to see if I needed to get another - larger - size; no, because the colour is def not to my liking. It is a very light, yellowish leather, which I really don't like. So mine just go back.

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2025 12:39

Does anyone have the lightweight linen gathered waist dress? Having a last minute packing panic before holidays, and feel like this dress could solve my suitcase gap.

CakeAndJazz · 04/07/2025 14:59

Thanks @BettinaInDenmark, I’m not quite sure I could be bothered to order a pair then, will just keep wearing the tan ones from a while ago instead.

@ScottishMouse do you mean the short sleeved one that came in the blackish shade and the pink? I think it was mentioned on here the sleeves stick out weirdly, but I can’t be sure.

I think it is meant to look like that. I think it would only suit a small bust. She had it on in the live / not live today. I wish they showed more clothes in it.
I noticed on the website that under the Magazine section they show glimpses of a few Autumn things including this years coat. Well obvs one of them.

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2025 19:17

Ooh @Countmeout off to have a look…

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2025 19:20

There’s an interesting looking kantha stitch top in the magazine too @Countmeout.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/07/2025 19:35

How tall is Jenny Garcia? That red skirt looked quite long.

I noticed the cream Kantha top. That must be quite bulky though.

Does anyone have the Lia boatneck top? It is a similar shape at the neck but I find it quite flattering. The smock top however seems to be quite stiff looking.

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I thought it was very long too. I think she said at the beginning she was 5’6”. I thought she was taller than that. I thought the red skirt looked quite formal, the blue I have seems more casual but it, too, is very long.

SuperLemonCrush · 04/07/2025 20:16

I have just returned two pairs of the cotton kick flare trousers - got the sand and the green as I love the denim version I bought at the beginning of the year. I was so disappointed to find that they have a higher waistline - measured the crotch seam against the denim and they are at least an inch higher. This means they cover my bottom rib in a really uncomfortable way when sitting down. Other half said they looked fab, great shape and colour, but why cut differently!
But have fallen in love with my giant Clara hat, great bargain!

Countmeout · 05/07/2025 09:27

Have found a shoe dupe for anyone like me baulking at the cost of the Toast ones.

I’ve just received the Archivist dress in cumin. It is lovely and I will be keeping it. I think it’s the same design as Selma, but sleeves a bit longer. Looks good with my green Fracap sandals.

The print reminds me of my favourite ever dress which I bought from Grattan catalogue in the late seventies. I was so upset when I scorched the back of the skirt. My mum managed to salvage it by taking some fullness out. I loved Grattan, it was much more fashionable than Littlewoods or Kays!

OftenOrange · 05/07/2025 11:08

@Countmeout
Id love a really good pair of ankle strap and missed out on the black Steve Mono.
Just fallen for the Hereu version too after seeing J Garcia et al in the Toast live .
I occasionally visit Anthropology and have tried some footwear but it is always style over content , and they seem poorly made and with no concept of the human foot .

ScottishMouse · 05/07/2025 12:57

@MsDastardley i saw that dress in store and it looks beautiful. I preferred the cumin colour to the blue, the contrast is lovely.

ScottishMouse · 05/07/2025 13:25

Those Hereu shoes are stunning. Thankfully, I have very difficult feet that I know would never fit into them, so I can keep my £360 safe!!

I've never looked at the Toast online magazine before. Great clothes, but my goodness, are they heading for pseud's corner!

'As we journey through the season we arrive at the conservatoire, where melody is interpreted as a sensorial, immediate form of art - felt before it is understood. Donegal knits in flecked yarns speak to sweeping symphonies.'

My jumpers have never spoken to anything. Clearly I'm buying the wrong jumpers.

My knitting and I have some very deep conversations ...

Not really 😂

There is also the Hazel twig throwing

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/07/2025 19:10

@notwavingbutdrowning1 😅😅

I bought the olive Franca gingham dress in the sale, I really like it apart from the slightly lumpy shoulders and it seems to pull slightly when I put my arms forward.
I’m really undecided as it’s a colour dress I haven’t got and I can see it will be useful. I’m wondering if the lumpy shoulders might steam out and the dress relax across around the arms. Has any else found these issues with it?

I'm knitting a cardigan in Donegal wool at the moment and it's certainly sending me messages, but more baaing than speaking. It smells terribly of sheep! One good thing is it's making me knit very quickly so I can wash the horrid thing. I'm only persisting because it's the most beautiful colour (green).

I've got the navy twill Franca dress, bought last year. I've got broad shoulders so I had the pulling thing too, I had to go up two sizes to stop it and then it was loose all over which I liked. It was my favourite dress but I lost so much weight when I was ill in the winter that I've had to put it away this year. I'm building up my wardrobe again very slowly.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/07/2025 20:32

That’s interesting @oddandelsewhere I bought the 12, it’s plenty big enough everywhere else and oos in larger sizes. I think I’ll hang on to it for a while then and see if a larger size comes back into stock

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 05/07/2025 20:37

The hazel twig throwing, @Poplinskirt!! Toast is surely parodying itself here

OftenOrange · 05/07/2025 21:38

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I have the olive gingham Franca bought in the previous sale on a recommendation from here. I havent any noticed shoulder lumpiness issues . I find the overall fit good and like the not-trying-too-hard
low key vibe.
@notwavingbutdrowning1 How pretentious and pathetic , as a musician it makes me furious!
Anyway, I buy the clothes despite the magazine which I find boring and superfluous .

Stoic123 · 05/07/2025 22:02

@notwavingbutdrowning1 - Toast copy tends to be highfalutin but the folks at Toast HQ have really outdone themselves this time.
