Hi,

Here’s a new thread!

Has anyone ever generated a return label but then not posted the item back until quite a bit later (so that it arrives beyond the return period)? Some confusion meant I thought my return had been posted by the daughter, but now we are on holidays and she just told me she forgot to send it! Won’t be back until late next week, it’s a sale item so 14 days is up today. Arrrrggghhh. The return label was generated a few days ago, so I wonder if I can just send it the day I get back…🤔

Snowyowl78 · 07/07/2025 12:35

@ScottishMouse i’d email them to ask, a few times they’ve let me return late.

OftenOrange · 07/07/2025 14:47

Last hurrah , Textured Poplin V necked Top in Red ……I dismissed this before as being scrubs …but I needed the freshness of a bright red top .
I’m glad I sized down , it’s a great neat but airy shape , above elbow sleeves and the red is gorgeous.

Hi,

I have just received the pottery bowl, which unexpectedly came back into stock. Unfortunately, Toast have sent me one with a badly cracked glaze, rendering it unusable. I know it’s not supposed to look like this as I almost bought one in store on several occasions when they were first on sale.

I’m annoyed, because it’s obviously a return that someone sent back for this very reason, which Toast have promptly resold rather than withdrawing from sale.

Of course it’s OOS again now!

I have emailed CS with pics to let them know I am not pleased. I am also annoyed with myself for not buying it in store - it’s so lovely.

I also returned a large/expensive order over a week ago and haven’t yet had a return. I am going to have to chase that up too, but I find a phone call is usually more effective for refund issues, so that’s a job for tomorrow.

Thanks @Snowyowl78 , that’s good to know. I will need to email them so.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 07/07/2025 16:05

Not much help to you @IlovePond but when I received the Willow bowl with cracked glaze they sent me a replacement and didn't ask me to return the damaged one.
And previously when I sent back an obviously faulty item of clothing I put a large note in with it to alert the returns dept. not to send it out to another customer.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/07/2025 19:10

@notwavingbutdrowning1 😅😅

I bought the olive Franca gingham dress in the sale, I really like it apart from the slightly lumpy shoulders and it seems to pull slightly when I put my arms forward.
I’m really undecided as it’s a colour dress I haven’t got and I can see it will be useful. I’m wondering if the lumpy shoulders might steam out and the dress relax across around the arms. Has any else found these issues with it?

I bought that dress last year (or the year before), and like it a lot, even though it is a bit tight at the bust.

BettinaInDenmark · 08/07/2025 13:52

I had the slate brushed cotton linen herringbone trousers delivered a couple of days ago, and am wearing them today with the batik dot print tank top bought december last year and the cross stitch cotton check jacket from 2021.

I love how Toast items just combine so well across the different collections.

IlovePond · 08/07/2025 13:53

Thanks @Theteapotsbrokenspout - I did the same with a damaged/faulty dress once - hopefully they paid attention,

I have finally got my refund for the large order I returned 9 days ago- far too slow, but at least I have it now!

Sale is ending on Thursday - presumably at 12 noon as usual for added drama/weirdness.

I am wondering if there will be a last minute restock. There have been a few more reductions, but everything I have my eye on is OOS in my size.

OP posts:
IlovePond · 08/07/2025 13:57

That’s true @BettinaInDenmark

I am disappointed that there’s been nothing really for me this sale. I like the Shoal kaftan, (although I have no idea what I will use it for), and the oat/lapis top is perfectly ok, but I was hoping for a lovely new dress in the style of Pond.

I thought the Madder dress might work but the colour was awful on me and it was far too tight on the bodice.

TosstTastic · 10/07/2025 13:40

That's it for the Sale.
I nearly had a last minute wobble over the netball bib but if I can't garden in it, it's probably not going to see a lot of use.
There was a flurry of returns and I grabbed a Birch jacket. It really works with a lot of my wardrobe, dress, skirts and trousers. I'm particularly pleased that it works with a Toast red & yellow check skirt I bought years ago, that rarely seems to get an outing.
It funny the pieces that do a lot of heavy lifting - the space tank was such a good buy for me. I was tempted by the hand framed striped tank in pretty much the same colours but stayed strong and minimal.

AmethystMoonShine · 10/07/2025 16:58

Yes, thankfully it's over so I can stop nipping back in 'just to see'!
I bought a second pair of the cotton/linen herringbone trousers that came back into stock in my size a few days ago. They are such a good fit that I can see me wearing them out and then being sad...so I got a second pair. I've done that before with trousers as I struggle to get a decent fit,so when I do, I multi-buy.
Sad that there was nothing in the home department for me this sale - that is unusual. I'm still loving my little wooden pinch pots from the last sale and have various candle holders and hogla baskets about the place as evidence of my Toast sale shopping.
I was in the Mayfair branch last week and tried on a few bits. It was too hot though and I was worried I'd buy something I'd regret as I was hot and bothered and at the end of a day in a conference, so had a frazzled brain. The dresses with the flower print, in blue and olive were beautiful, very striking. I think the other problem was that my head is in summer mode and the stock was more Autumnal and I couldn't fathom wearing any of it whilst I felt so hot.

Stoic123 · 10/07/2025 17:20

Well, I've ended up with just the Pouring Bowl - and very nice it is too. The most restrained Toast sale in 5 years for me.

The hot weather is making me pine for Winter and Toast jumpers. I bought a Toast shearling coast off Vinted recently and am looking forward to wearing it too.

IlovePond · 10/07/2025 17:21

That Birch jacket is lovely @TosstTastic

I found the homewares on sale this time disappointing @AmethystMoonShine.

I cracked and ordered a Kantha coat and the ‘deckchair’ Raft skirt this morning, (even though I know that I will find the Kantha too stiff/garish/gowny and the skirt too tent-like!)

Yesterday I also decided to give the Troentorp sandals yet another go in a bigger size, the blue/black striped top in a small and finally gave in on the Kite pjs, (which I suspect will be too small).

In my defence, I do really like those sandals, and I did mean to try the blue top in a smaller size too. I have no idea what I was thinking with my other purchases 🙀

OP posts:
IlovePond · 10/07/2025 17:23

Was yours ok @Stoic123 no cracking in the glaze?

I am still annoyed that I didn’t buy one at the beginning of the sale - it had been in my wish list for ages.

OP posts:
Stoic123 · 10/07/2025 17:26

@IlovePond - this is mine. No cracking.

Jealous now @Stoic123 😹it’s so lovely.

OP posts:
Stoic123 · 10/07/2025 17:29

Was on my wishlist too then saw it in a shop and wasn't sure.Thought I'd take another look and really liked it. Looks bigger at home.

Sorry yours didn't work out.

IlovePond · 10/07/2025 17:29

I love that blue grey glaze.

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 10/07/2025 20:47

Well I ended up returning everything I bought in the sale! So a no buy sale for me, which is unheard of. I am now eyeing up the new navy wrap jacket, even though I tried it in the previous colour and don’t think the shape worked for me (though I can’t remember why)…does anyone have either colour?

IlovePond · 12/07/2025 15:24

Hi, all.

My sale parcel is all going back:

Kite pjs in M - the bottoms were lovely, (although I agree with reviewers that the elastic on the waist was too tight/thick/stiff). However, the top was huge and ballooned unflatteringly, (just like the orange blossom pjs and lounge dress I tried).

Pinwheel blue striped top in S - the M was too big, but, although this fitted nicely everywhere else and really suited me, once again the armpit/chest intersection was all wrong.

I think Toast mean this style to hang baggily over a flat chest with material ‘rippling down’ from the neck/shoulder intersection, (looking at the online model pic). Personally I don’t find that a good look, but it certainly isn’t going to work on me 🙀

Troentorp sandals in 5 - too big. Clearly I need to give up on this brand, which is a shame.

Very disappointed, especially about the pjs and top as they are lovely.

OP posts:
Theteapotsbrokenspout · 12/07/2025 21:03

That’s a shame @IlovePond .

I reordered the Olive Franca Gingham dress, it’s a better fit, no pulling when I lift my arms (ridiculous how the same dress can differ in size) . The shoulders still seem a bit lumpy but I think they’re just pressed wrong. When it’s a bit cooler I’ll be able to make a proper decision.

IlovePond · 12/07/2025 21:16

I really like the Franca dress @Theteapotsbrokenspout but the shape of the bodice doesn’t suit me, unfortunately.

TosstTastic · 13/07/2025 09:16

Lovely styling of the Franca dress on a Toast tiktok.

I do like seeing Toast clothes out and about in real life on social media.
The poor model on the page looks like she's playing statues.

Sweltering away here ... but entertained to receive emails from both Poetry and Brora signposting their Autumn/Winter collections, now online!

What to do? Accept that this weather is the new normal and work on acquiring a proper summer wardrobe; or take heart that it will soon be snow and ice season again, and start swithering over woollies and corduroy?
