Hi,

Here’s a new thread!

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - yes - that orange nightie/lounge dress and pjs - such a shame that they are so strange around the chest/neck/shoulders. I suppose that style suits some people, but I looked like I was about to take flight!

@ToastCosILoveIt - I am still stalking the skirts - thanks so much for the info. What are they like on the waist? Tight? TTS?

I’m wishing I had bought the pouring bowl, (not that I have any room for it😹)

I almost ordered a Kantha gown today, but I just know that I would find it too stiff and/or the colours not right. I must restrain myself as I literally have no more space for gowns in my house. Plus I have somehow managed to misplace two genuine Japanese kimonos so until I find those, (it’s a mystery where they have gone and I have been looking for a while), I certainly can’t add to my collection!

There’s a few new items coming through. I’ve ordered Archivist dress. I have had a fairly low spend month and thought I might save some money for a change. All out of the window in last couple of days.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/07/2025 17:40

Thanks @MsDastardley I can see there’s some nice dresses in the new drop already.
Also is there a difference between the Freya and the Franca shapes? Or is it the fabric?

IIRC, the Freya is gathered and the Franca is pleated. I prefer the Franca, as the pleats are flattering.

I really like the new black linen shirt dress, lovely shape, though I suspect it would be too long for me. Also love the fine stripe shirt dress and the shirt in the same fabric. I will definitely be trying those three.

Hi, I would say the skirt is very true to size. It has an elasticated waist so some give but I find the 12 on my 12 size body a very good fit. I can see they have further versions of it coming at some point as I was admiring this smock top (not available in any size) and one of the photos shows it with a forest green version of the skirt. That is a lovely shade of green @ToastCosILoveIt .
The shoes I was coveting are Hereu and £360. So much for that!!! A bit spendy for me.
love the green cashmere mix cardigan.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/07/2025 20:14

@notwavingbutdrowning1 Thank you, I can see that now I’ve looked more closely.

ScottishMouse · 03/07/2025 14:21

Went for a wee try on of new things this morning. I was sure I was going to buy thr fine stripe shirt dress, it’s the same style as the linen one this season and the grey check cotton cashmere one from last aw. Sadly it did not fit in the same size (medium). It was far too tight on the upper arms and a little too tight across the bust. Why do they change things that work well? The cotton cashmere one is perfect, I tried the linen one previously and found it a little smaller but still a good fit, but this one is smaller still. I tried the large and that was a good fit on the top half, but the skirt had way too much fabric in it. Very sad as it is so me.
I did buy the shirt in the same fabric, the style has been around a few seasons but I particularly like this fabric. I’m not convinced by the pleats though, which come from the neckline to just above the bust, I feel like they might accentuate my larger bust in a bit great way. I will have to try it on with a few things and see.
I also bought the new long-sleeves tee with the pocket in paper white. It is a better colour on me than all the ecrus of late, and it is a nice heavier weight. I was interested in the bronze colour which looks lovely online, but it is green in person.
I also tried the new off-black linen shirt dress. It’s a lovely shape, but it’s for a taller person than me.
The floral shirt dress looks lovely, I particularly like the contrast of the colours on the olive background. It’s not something I would get much wear out of, but is very special.
Nothing else really jumped out at me.

ScottishMouse · 03/07/2025 15:08

Oh I also tried the ecru cotton linen smock top which looks so lovely on the hanger. The boat neck stuck up inches from the shoulders though in a very weird fashion. Shame as this is one I would have bought otherwise.

IlovePond · 03/07/2025 15:21

Thanks for the info @ScottishMouse

Thanks for the skirt info @ToastCosILoveIt - sounds like I would need to order a 12 and a 14 to try if they ever come back into stock!

Re: Sale

The lovely crinkle cotton dresses that no one except me seems to like are reduced to a fantastic £45 on the Toast site now! I already have both colours and paid £60 for each- they are so lovely and I highly recommend them. At that price, even if you don’t like the top part, you could wear as a skirt with a jumper over it.

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 03/07/2025 15:24

@IlovePond i also noticed that some things have been further reduced. The Ikat jacket I bought is now £145. I paid £195 at the start of the sale, so I have emailed to see if they will refund the difference. Definitely worth it for £50!

IlovePond · 03/07/2025 15:28

Good luck @ScottishMouse

I bought my dresses last sale/at the outlet last year and love them so much. The orange in particular has had a lot of wear. I think I will start wearing the green in autumn/einter/spring too with a jumper over the top.

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 03/07/2025 15:38

The style and the colours are not for me, but that is a really good deal for those dresses @IlovePond.

IlovePond · 03/07/2025 16:34

Hi, there’s a very small restock going on atm x

OP posts:
Stravaig · 03/07/2025 16:38

Think there might be some new things too. Three more colourways just appeared for a pair of socks I've been admiring from afar.

Zeusrules · 03/07/2025 17:10

@ScottishMousethank you for the heads up about the Ikat jacket being reduced. I’ve just been in the Toast chat and they have refunded me the £50. It is my only sale purchase so I’m feeling even more virtuous now!

ScottishMouse · 03/07/2025 17:14

Ah, I thought email would be better than chat @Zeusrules, but I’ve not had a reply so far. Good to know they have refunded you though, it’s quite a chunk less. It’s my only sale purchase too. Apart from the indigo gilet for my sister which I think may have to go back - as well as being smaller in width than mine, the armholes seem smaller too, I have tried it on with a few things and all have bunched up at the armpits which doesn’t happen with mine 🤷‍♀️. I can’t be bothered reordering as I would be away when it would arrive.

CakeAndJazz · 03/07/2025 17:32

I returned my birch gingham trousers and jacket today, and so I’ve bought nothing this sale, which is a first for me. I was wondering if anyone has the Fracap sandals in Sand? Are they as pink as they appear? They’ve been reduced again and I’m wondering if they’re worth a try.

TosstTastic · 03/07/2025 18:00

Tell me @CakeAndJazz about the Birch jacket. Too this? Too that?
I dithered and then got upset when it went out of stock.
Stalking for a restock!

I have kept the hand beaded cotton wrap jacket - I super sized down and this suits my shapeless menopausal figure with its elbow length sleeves and finishing where my waist used to be.

Also kept the blue multi dip dye painterly shirt, it's perfect for not trying too hard, in a actually I secretly do try hard way, for an event...

Just need an invite now; dinner, art gallery, hell you can open an envelope and I'll rock up these days.

Sunnydaysarehereonceagain · 03/07/2025 18:12

@CakeAndJazz I have the sand Francap sandles I purchased instore last Summer. I would say that mine vere towards a true sand shade, whereas a couple of other pairs on display at the time (not in my size) definitely lent towards a slightly darker, more pink hue. I think there is definitely some shade variation between pairs, so there could be an element of luck with what you get? Hope this helps 😊

CakeAndJazz · 03/07/2025 18:46

@TosstTastic the jacket is really lovely. It just doesn’t fit into my lifestyle, and I generally don’t reach for jackets. I live in loungewear mostly, and always opt for jumpers (the swingy linen/cotton ones are my favourite) and cardigans over jackets. What size are you after?

Thanks @Sunnydaysarehereonceagain - I’ll try them then and hope for the best. I really like the Ola style, and a nice neutral light colour would be a good addition to my wardrobe.

Countmeout · 03/07/2025 19:27

@ScottishMouse Thanks for all the information re the new drop. What is the sizing of the long sleeve T with the pocket like? I think they’d be good for updating my Francis tops. It’s good to hear what the brass colour is like in real life?

ScottishMouse · 03/07/2025 19:36

@Countmeout I went for L, I am usually M in Toast but like my T-shirts baggy. It is slightly boxy, rather than a fitted style.
