My Wishlist is back too - just edited it in preparation for any sale that might be forthcoming. However, I suspect the fading summer sale won't have much to tempt me. I am hoping it's the 24th onwards as I am away for a week prior to that.

I hope so too. 24th is payday for me.

However, I got a bit restless and ordered the charcoal cashmere roll neck and charcoal cord trousers today!

Gloriousgoard · 09/09/2025 04:27

Just bought the slate wide leg trousers for £175!!! Worried the ankle skim is going to make me look like a clown and hoping I’m short enough for this not to be the case. Are they good with returns/ refunds?

IlovePond · 09/09/2025 08:06

@Gloriousgoard - Toast do free no-quibble returns. Refunds are usually quick, although occasionally you do need to chase them up, (but that’s mainly at sale times).

@ScottishMouse I have a previous season charcoal grey cardigan very similar to the Eden. Mine bobbles slightly but It is a couple of years old and still looks great. I tend to air and lightly steam it rather than give it a full wash and I use my Philips shaver on it occasionally and it still looks great. I think keeping on top of it is key. I once saw a member of Toast staff wearing a very bobbly cashmere neat jumper. It perhaps didn’t bother her but it would me - I have a low bobble tolerance !

PeonyBlush10 · 09/09/2025 10:56

@ScottishMouse the shaver is great but don’t push down too hard when using. I created holes in cashmere socks ( yes, I’m a dedicated de-bobbler), it was irritating but I was just grateful it wasn’t a jumper.

ScottishMouse · 09/09/2025 12:47

Thanks @PeonyBlush10 I also have a low bobble tolerance, and love my knitwear shaver. I have had a couple of cashmere wool items in the past with varying amounts of bobbling, but I’m not sure I can be bothered with the maintenance. I’m leaning towards returning it, I have tried it many times over the last year or two and have managed to walk away, and I probably should have done that yesterday, but I was on my way home from a horrible hospital appointment and it was probably emotional shopping.
I thought my cardi for this year was going to be the grey donegal one, but I can’t get the sizing quite right - either too wide or too short. Has anyone got that one?

ShrankLastWinter · 09/09/2025 15:18

Sorry to hear about the hospital appointment, @ScottishMouse

IlovePond · 09/09/2025 16:19

Hope you’re ok @ScottishMouse x

Thanks @ShrankLastWinter @IlovePond all fine I hope, just had to have a nasty procedure which was far worse than I had prepared myself for. Feeling all ok today though.

MiracleToast · 09/09/2025 16:44

Glad you’re feeling okay today @ScottishMouse sorry you had to go through that. I vote keep the cosy cardigan : ) but if you return it, hope you can find one you love

faustina · 09/09/2025 20:10

I'm so sorry you had such shitty news @ScottishMouse - I don't have any Toast cashmere/wool but I find any darker colours of cashmere don't show the bobbles so much - oh and I saw something you might like today. Have you ever had a look at colourful standard t-shirts? Last time I looked they were all very basic but they've branched out and do some very nice looking cropped boxy ones in all the colours of the rainbow and organic. Very reasonably priced too!

ScottishMouse · 09/09/2025 20:59

Thanks for thinking of me @faustina! I haven’t ever seen colourful standard tees in the flesh, but shall take a look. I am still enjoying my Ivy cropped tees, they are washing and wearing well, and it was still warm enough here today for just that.

Bimblesalong · 10/09/2025 00:13

So sorry you’ve had to go through that @ScottishMouse i also vote to keep the luffly stuff.

Bimblesalong · 10/09/2025 22:29

I’m back north after the adventure that was the tube strike. It felt like the hunger games on parts of my journeys around London.

I had a lovely visit to Toast Bloomsbury. The team there were very pleasant and helpful. I’ve come away with the cord skirt in the greeny colour and the beautiful cashmere scarf in yellow moss. I may also have bought the pen and ink dress as I love it. No more spending for me for a bit! The store is really nicely done and it was great to handle a small selection of ceramics as well as to see some of the new collection - including the gorgeous red funnel neck jumper I’d admired. That’s a hard no at over £400 though!

Me too, I spend hours shaving my jumpers. Its always such a relief when they get old enough and bald enough for it to stop. Of course by then I’m darning the elbows…

Hi y'all experts - I bought a toast dress last year (Bryn) and it fits my quirky body perfectly. It was an expensive treat but I have worn it loads.
There's another two dresses I like - when / if will there be a sale?
One of the dresses is the blue and white cotton arty one, maybe from the summer...

I saw that blue and white ‘arty’ dress in the Harrogate shop a couple of months ago. I would have bought it but the only one they had (and it was my size!) was covered in makeup and they were out of it online.

So annoying. I’m resisting looking at the new season as I bought an eyewateringly expensive Alexander Manamis dress in a summer sale a few weeks ago and can’t afford anything else yet.

Time to go through my past season Toast and see what needs mending and what new outfits can be drummed up..

ToastCosILoveIt · 11/09/2025 00:10

@ScottishMouse sending best wishes, yes, I vote keep the cardigan too, a cashmere cardie is such a luxury to feel and wear.

I bought a handful of things that arrived today. The Dianthus print dress is absolutely gorgeous, supremely flattering and feels lovely. I ordered my usual high street size, a 12, perhaps could have sized down but prefer a relaxed feel and the dress drapes beautifully anyway.

The stripe wool cashmere half sleeve in red multi: I already have this in green/navy from last winter and love it. I sized up this time as the medium last year was only just big enough. I think the large just about looks okay and gives me a bit of leeway when I wash it for minute shrinkage.

I also got the pleated wide cords in antique olive and the bold stripe cotton sleeved top which I sized down to a small in having read the reviews. The jury is out on these two, tried them on very quickly between Teams work meetings, need to try them on in a more considered way.

mizu · 11/09/2025 08:23

@Bimblesalong hunger games 😁 that TOAST shop sounds lovely. I’m going to now take a look at the yellow moss scarf as the colour sounds lovely.

weareallcats · 11/09/2025 09:20

The apron dress has arrived and I am in two minds - it has a lot of very lovely fabric and is very comfortable, but I am not sure whether it looks quite right on me. It seems to bunch up a bit at the back, plus it is pretty shapeless, even with the ties. Not sure, so I’ve put it away for now and will try it on again in a couple of days.

I have since ordered the macro gingham freya, the donegal cardigan with the necktie, the burnt sienna neat cashmere jumper and the round collar cord jacket. I will almost certainly keep the dress and the jumper, as I know I get on with these. I love the look of the donegal cardi, excited to try.

PeonyBlush10 · 11/09/2025 11:46

Loving hearing all about your new purchases. I’m eyeing up the pink cord jacket but not sure if it’s the right shade of pink for me.

@Faustina I bought the Harris Tweed jacket from Plumo but it’s going back. It is truly beautiful. The fabric/colour/cut are gorgeous but my tummy pushes out the front (my least favourite area) - the back is also designed to waft out so from the side I look like a ship in full sail. From the front I love it but I think I’m better suited to longer length jackets. The fabric is thinner than I expected - not in a poor quality kind of way - it’s just lighter weight than I imagined. Really easy to layer under a coat because it is not too bulky. I love it in so many ways but at price it has to be perfect.

PeonyBlush10 · 11/09/2025 11:49

@Faustina I meant to add - I’m a standard size 12 ( with bit of a tummy) and 5 ft 7 and I ordered the 12. If I were keeping it I’d go up a size as the jacket tugged over my chest when fastened. Sleeves are quite long but not a problem as they look fabulous rolled up to expose the lining.

weareallcats · 11/09/2025 12:10

I have kept all of my plumo purchases, which is unfortunate as I was thinking I’d need to send at least one thing back and could then justify more purchases. The Anja pinafore dress is absolutely gorgeous - worn twice already. The Rosewood coat is a bit scratchy - the lining finishes before the end of the sleeves, so I think I’d need to always wear long sleeves with it - but it is so beautiful and unique I couldn’t bear to send it back. I also got the peony jacket - I already have the longer version in red - really lovely.

I really like the look of the Clodagh dress, the Cormack coat, the yellow kimono and the sigrun coat, but I need to stop!!

IlovePond · 11/09/2025 13:47

I’m jealous of all your lovely purchases - I really like the sound of the scarf but I am on a scarf/hat/gloves ban as I only have one head/neck, etc. and dozens of each!

@PeonyBlush10 - that's a shame it didn't work for you, but think how much you can spend on something else nice now! 😂

I am busy having a small wardrobe cull before I buy anything else new (or new to me). No news of the Toast Kindred gift yet? <<still hopeful>>

Oh and I wanted to sk something else: has anyone ever tried the Colourful Standard chore jacket? They have one in oxblood which looks really nice:

Bimblesalong · 11/09/2025 15:21

A wardrobe cull is on my mind too. Has anyone used thrift plus for a clear out? They advertise to say they’ll sell stuff on. Obviously not as much profit as selling yourself but I’ve had so much nonsense on Vinted.
