Hi,

Here’s a new thread!

I forgot to say: There was also one sample rail of men’s clothing.

Talking of Plumo. I noticed this, which looks like the same jacket! Just different lighting. First jacket £130 from Plumo. Second, Amazon £49!!!

@neveradullmoment99 That jacket is listed as one of their own Plümo Studio designs! It's top of my somewhat more realistic but still likely unachievable wishlist :)

faustina · 23/08/2025 12:44

@neveradullmoment99 - I can't find that on Amazon. Do you have a link please?

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2025 12:49

No problem! They also have a beautiful red coat that's similar to one they had on plumo too

@IlovePond I’m heading to that part of Wales to visit my farming cousins. 12 miles to the nearest pint of milk! Did the shop have a good selection of men’s archive stuff?
diolch!

Stravaig · 23/08/2025 12:51

I've found a couple of other recent Plümo-like floral quilted designs on Amazon, but at least one review suggests the actual garment received might be a counterfeit made in cheaper fabrics. Never tried clothes shopping on Amazon though, unless a recognised brand outlet store.

Think it's the red coat that had a worrying review! Though the others were good.

The French review on the jacket is also dissatisfied with the fabric, but doesn't specify why.

IlovePond · 23/08/2025 13:18

@TheErrantDaughter - one length of the wall of the shop is men’s archive and I noticed some nice jumpers and a couple of coats on there. At the front of the shop today, (and tomorrow), there is also a small rail of men’s sample stock.

Btw: Toast Llandeilo is usually closed on Sunday, but they are planning on opening tomorrow at 11am as a one-off.

I left at 11am today and there was quite a lot left, but if anyone is making a special trip tomorrow, it might be worth giving them a call to check how much is still available.

Thanks @neveradullmoment99 . it is the same one isn't it! Before giving up on my own search, I found a longer padded cotton coat in a really nice brown/black design which I've put in my basket, but like @Stravaig I've never bought from Amazon before. Nothing on either the Plumo description or Amazon says anything about the factory, who made it, etc etc. At least with Toast you get the impression they know and take an interest in who makes their garments

IlovePond · 23/08/2025 13:57

Have you gone @mizu ?

Thank you. I’m there Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I can’t wait to get my Llandeilo fix, even though it’s going to be rubbish weather. If you’re still there I really recommend the food at Y Castell in Llangadog near Llandovery.

IlovePond · 23/08/2025 14:08

Thanks @TheErrantDaughter - will check that out next time I am in the area, (we are currently enjoying the delights of the M4😹)

@IlovePond I have just got back! Yes, I was there and think I carried that lovely tote round for a bit before deciding I need something more waterproof. If either of my DDs were with me, they would have very firmly said, mum you do not need another tote!

Thought the staff were great, really helpful.

Saw a lady pick up the Xmas decs and thought pond?? But pretty sure it wasn’t you.

I tried on SO much - attempted to avoid blue things but two denim dresses were tried on but were not quite right. Cardigans too but either too expensive (still around £155 ) or too small.

Ended up with a lime green / yellow linen dress, some socks and a lovely checked scarf that was £20.

Spent £105 so very restrained this time.

IlovePond · 23/08/2025 14:58

@mizu - I was there 9.30-11. Were we there at the same time? Glad it was a success for you.

Every time I came out of the changing rooms I found more things to try 🙀

I didn’t touch the baubles, (didn’t dare 😹) but I was the one who opened the large cardboard box to discover it held a large paper star and suggested leaving it open so people knew of its existence!

I carried socks around for a while until I realised I didn’t need any more!

I am still on the M4, but am looking forward to getting home to test my theory that the woolly tote is reversible!

I have just looked at my account on line and not only have we ‘lost’ our wish lists it looks like my old orders don’t now show the individual items purchased- only a blank plus the price. I am quite sad about this as it gave me a good history of shopping with Toast - think I will email and ask what happened. I imagine ‘new IT system’ will be the answer…

Popplebop · 24/08/2025 12:54

I have emailed Toast - will update when I hear from them

Popplebop · 24/08/2025 13:25

Well Toast were super quick on their reply! …

’Unfortunately, our website was temporarily taken down due to some technical issues, which has meant that our web team are working on putting back all of the features that were once on our site.

I understand that this is frustrating, but we hope that you can grant our teams patience whilst they work to get our site up and running as it once was.

Regrettably, we have been made aware by our web team that they are unable to recover customer wish lists.’

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 24/08/2025 14:26

@Popplebop I hadn’t realised about the past orders, that’s annoying, but hopefully toast will restore these eventually. Shame about the wish lists.

Stravaig · 24/08/2025 21:27

@Popplebop That's interesting to know - thank you for asking.

Poplinskirt · 25/08/2025 10:32

Lovely to hear about Llandeilo @IlovePond

I've ordered the Black Pepper linen dress and the Navy Wool/ cashmere large bandana .

Excited for the new drop and hoping for a chunky yoke donegal .
Bought last year's in both colours and love them

Wonder what the Kindred gift is?

IlovePond · 25/08/2025 10:41

Thanks @Poplinskirt - I am currently berating myself for buying that tote bag and leaving behind a beautiful skirt 🙈

The napkins, however, are huge and will make great bandanas!

Waiting with baited breath for the September Kindred gift to make an appearance…

Do we think there will be a mini sale in September?

November ?

ScottishMouse · 25/08/2025 12:17

There was a short “fading summer” sale last year starting on Thursday September 26th according to my email. I seem to remember it was mostly whatever was left over from the summer sale.
