Kindred cull and the new drop have sparked such a lively and interesting chat ; sorry those of you feeling PO , it’s so counterproductive for Toast to disconnect and leaves such a sour taste . Just make it once Kindred always Kindred for heavens sake!

I so enjoy the deconstruct when the new drop appears , especially Late Summer/Autumn though in fact it’s the one Season I don’t often shop as my wardrobe is geared more to Mediterranean Summer and then straight to needing thick woolllies as I feel the cold.
This is the first London Summer for a while as DH has been ill , so we’re hoping he can travel September and October instead , fingers crossed.

Anyway today I spent with an old friend who often buys the same pieces as I ( this year the pen and ink shirt ) We went to Tate Modern in different outfits this time, she in a pretty white stripey Toast dress from a few years back and I in my black boiler suit , we complimented a lady wearing a lovely sleeveless denim dress and she said it was ‘Toast’ , I reckon quite a few other ladies wearing Toast too. In fact I always find TM crowd to be my cup of tea sartorially , whereas Royal Academy crowd aren’t .

We then approprately paid Toast a visit and admired the new collection .
@ToastCosILoveIt Your painted tweed set are superb, so unusual and arty and the cut looked fantastic.
My friend felt the linen woven skirt was very me , and urged a try on which I resisted because boiler suit fatigue.
It really is. piece of art too @gobbl As has been said it’s very substantial and carries a really Bloomsbury vibe , quite divine!
Friend tried on a green stripey dress with stitched pleats to the bodice , it was enormous and had a tent like shape , and we agreed it needs a tall person.
Both loved the olive / black huge check dress with a waist seam .
Lots of fun and didn’t spend a thing!

Thank you @IlovePond . I hoped it would be.

If anyone is interested in the reworn pouring bowl I’m returning it. It’s very flat. Nothing like the one I got in sale.

Like you @ToastCosILoveIt I’m January. I , too, would be disappointed to lose it. Most of what I buy is Toast. It’s also handy for things like that bowl when you don’t actually want anything else.
Sounds v like a great afternoon @OftenOrange

I'm after help please. I have a one day appointment at the London passport office and need to return after four hours to pick up my renewed passport. Here's the address:
HM Passport Office
Warehouse K
2 Western Gateway
London
E16 1DR
Does anyone know which would be the easiest Toast shop to get to by public transport from there? I'm dying for a look through the new collection and this is a rare occurrence when I'll be on my own!
With many thanks indeed!

Bimblesalong · 04/08/2025 09:54

I’m not sure, @Allwellthatendswell but I usually pull up Google maps and put the word “toast” in the search bar to bring up the shops. I click on their icons to make sure they’re clothing rather than cafes!

Enjoy your visit - a few of us feeding back about the new collection in the coming weeks.

RockaLock · 04/08/2025 09:57

I don’t think any will be particularly near! But probably Shoreditch or Bloomsbury (although Bloomsbury doesn’t carry much womenswear, I don’t think).

You’re probably looking at 40mins travel each way.

AFingerofFudge · 04/08/2025 10:51

@Allwellthatendswell I think if you’re near Customs House tube on the Elizabeth Line, then take that heading West to Bond St tube (which will take around 20 mins) and then the Toast store on Dering Street is about a 30 second walk from there (as long as you come out of the Bond Street Elizabeth Line exit at Hanover Sq and not Davies St)

Thank you so very much. Fabulous. This will make an annoying trip much much better. I love this thread and all the wisdom!

Countmeout · 04/08/2025 14:14

Yes and I think that Toast has a good range. If you want to spend more time you could walk up St Christopher’s Place to Marylebone.. some lovely shops up there .

I received the new bigger bandana this morning. I went for green. Great size. Couldn’t pass it by as I wore the orange one so much last year. This is fine like the wrap scarf but less overwhelming. I love the jacket it’s shown with that’s not in stock yet.

ScottishMouse · 04/08/2025 15:06

I have my eye on that bandana in the yellow moss colour @Countmeout. It looks like a great size.

ScottishMouse · 04/08/2025 15:11

in case anyone is interested, it has light to shed on this….
The black leather Bleu de Chauffe bag shown online has a style code which in reality links to a smaller version (which they have stocked previously). So if you order the one online you don’t get that bigger version. Having spoken to CS, they can’t say where this bigger version is/what its style code or name is/what the dimensions or price are//if it even exists at all 🤷‍♀️ They have two variations on their system but the dimensions are only 1cm different, so I am guessing it is the same one and the elusive larger size has not been entered into their system correctly. So I have no idea how to get my hands on one. If anyone sees it in a store, could you let me know and I could call them and ask about it. Thanks.

Countmeout · 04/08/2025 15:45

@ScottishMouse the bandana is a good size.

I have the Bleu de Chauffe bag in brown. I bought from blue de chauffe as I don’t pay duty. I am not sure which one I have

It worked out cheaper as postage was free and there’s £10 off for first time customers. I can’t remember if I was charged in euro or ££. In any case it was cheaper than Toast. I’m not sure if that would balance up the duty. If paid in euro would be cheaper again.

Countmeout · 04/08/2025 15:47

@ScottishMouse And I think you get a free wallet atm. There are 2 sizes of bagon the website

ScottishMouse · 04/08/2025 15:55

Thanks @Countmeout i hadn’t thought about ordering directly from Bleu de Chauffe. I would be worried if it wasn’t quite right though and I had to return, how much that would end up costing.
But yes, it does look like the size pictured on the Toast website actually exists!
How much can you fit in your one? I need to fit a glasses case, phone, purse, keys, and a wee pouch with some cosmetics & meds. I think looking at the smaller one in store, that it would probably be a bit of a squeeze.

Countmeout · 04/08/2025 20:39

I don’t think it fits all that @ScottishMouse . it’s quite flat if you know what I mean. Takes my purse, glasses, tissues. Card holder. Lipstick. Can’t remember if anything else. I’ve not used it since winter.

ScottishMouse · 05/08/2025 09:51

Not Toast related, but does anyone have any tips for when you accidentally put a beautiful, previously unwashed, expensive white cotton shirt in the machine on 30 but had already left all the black and navy laundry in there earlier in the day and forgot!! I am so particular about doing the laundry (I won’t let anyone else in the house near it!) and cannot believe I did this, and worse still with something I love so much and cannot replace. I have thrown it back in at 40 with some colour catchers, but the wet laundry was sitting in the machine all night and it definitely looks old grey and manky this morning. What else can I do to revive it without having to wash it at 90 oh wise ones? Thanks so much.

Stravaig · 05/08/2025 11:14

@ScottishMouse Oh no! So easily done.

Hanging out in bright sunlight is an effective but gentle natural brightner. At the other extreme, white cottons have been successfully bleached and boil-washed for centuries. So don't worry too much, there will definitely be a remedy which safely restores your shirt. Try not to rush through multiple random solutions in a panic and inadvertently make things worse (I have done this). Researching historical garment care and textile restoration techniques might be helpful if is very precious and irreplaceable.

ScottishMouse · 05/08/2025 11:49

Thanks @stravaig. It has come out of the second wash looking better. I’m going to hang it out in the sun and see if that helps too. And if it still looks grey, I will figure out next steps then. So annoying.

faustina · 05/08/2025 12:28

I use Dr Beckmann Glowhite for white sheets etc. They're little sachets you just add to the drum. I don't think they're particularly harsh but they do keep things white. You can find them in supermarkets. Hope they work for you @ScottishMouse !

ScottishMouse · 05/08/2025 12:52

Thanks you @faustina. I came across these (amongst other products) when searching this morning, so I will look those out in the supermarket later.

neveradullmoment99 · 05/08/2025 13:12

You could try a colour catcher.
Imo, don't dry the shirt. Put it straight to wash again on its own with bio liquid. I think it takes some of the residue out

neveradullmoment99 · 05/08/2025 13:17

Ah...see you did that already! Glad its looking better. Ive done this. Its so annoying!

Bimblesalong · 05/08/2025 14:07

How frustrating! I washed my “washed linen” shade toast vest top with a couple of nice white t shirts from white company. The whites have come out pink. The only non-white item in there was the toast top. So annoyed with myself!

ScottishMouse · 07/08/2025 08:28

Thanks @faustina the Glowhite did the trick. The shirt was originally slightly off-white and it now white white, but that is far better than dirty grey, so thank you!

faustina · 07/08/2025 10:18

@ScottishMouse - glad it made things better for you! I use it for slightly off white things too and it doesn't make them white white. Which temperature did you wash at?

ScottishMouse · 07/08/2025 10:30

I washed it at 40. I threw in a few other greying things and it didn’t work so well on those so maybe it needs to be things that have recently become off colour, rather than things that have been slowly greying over time?
