I’m 27, and see my peers wearing things like this all the time, but I also feel like they’re not quite right 😂

Well they’re very fashionable, I guess it just depends whether you personally like them or not.

TokyoSushi · 28/05/2025 09:30

They're very, very popular, not sure about the brown though, maybe a different colour?

Coffeeishot · 28/05/2025 09:31

I mean do you like them? If you do get them, my dd has a pair she wears them for work.

survivechuckleshowaffection · 28/05/2025 09:32

My DIL wears these and she's 23. They are fashionable but to me they look like the ones my DH wore in the early 90's, but i guess everything comes round eventually!

I’m really on the fence about them, I need a good pair of “mum” shoes but also don’t want to look like I’m wearing my nan’s shoes!

I think if you are just looking for trainers to run about in they are fine and probably comfier than the flatter soled trainers, the colour is meh though.

Imicola · 28/05/2025 09:36

I hate this type of trainer. I get they are fashionable, but to me they look like you're about to go to the gym or for a jog, and so i would never have them as "normal wear" shoes. But, I'm not trendy at all so I guess I just don't get it!

Coffeeishot · 28/05/2025 09:37

My dog walker is in her 20s she wears new balance, i do think they are just practical trainers probably for all ages so not necessarily "nan shoes"

Is it?😅 I like the outfit the model is wearing, but I’m pregnant with twins so I don’t think I’ll be wearing a skirt that small ever again!

I have an aversion to beige/natura but that's just me!

Shangrilalala · 28/05/2025 09:40

My DS has these for school sports. I don’t get the hype - or the price - but he loves them. Definitely not nan shoes!

vinavine · 28/05/2025 09:41

They are a bit overdone now

Icedcaramelfrappe · 28/05/2025 09:44

I have some and they are very comfy but they are literally everywhere

Oh I’m not too concerned by being the same, I’m very much a beige/neutral dresser 😅

They don’t look like nan shoes. They do look more sport like than regular every day wear trainers though. I wouldn’t wear them with a dress for example.

Corknut · 28/05/2025 10:22

I would say they are on the way out, I’m wearing mine less and less so probably wouldn’t invest now

WombForTwo · 28/05/2025 10:24

I also like the look of these from adidas, but again I’m just not sure! I feel like I have okay fashion taste, but my shoes always let me down

I love NB but as you have pointed out OP, they can look a bit too "grandma" or just plain sporty if not styled appropriately.

I'd personally style them with mom jeans, a nice oversized shirt, and a blazer. And nice accessories.

I have really fallen in love with some brown linen trousers from M&S, but they’re not selling online!! I tend to go sporty or jeans at the weekend, so it’s just styling them I think

@WombForTwo , try Marks & Spencers.
The adidas ones are too brown, and they're not supportive. The NBs might be trendy and comfortable but they're ugly.

Hoolahoophop · 28/05/2025 11:03

I have a pair almost exactly the same in style, only slightly darker. I was painting in them at the weekend as they were my go to runners about 15 years ago and are now my 'work' trainers. Nice to see I'm back in style!

Oh no! Why are they ugly?

I want a mix of everything, I’ve not bought any new shoes in a long time and my trusty Adidas have worn a hole in the sole, so it’s time!
