Need to change my mother of the groom dress helps please

Been told by my son that the dress I bought is "basically white"
So I have to get a new one in 2 weeks.
Obviously I didn't think it was white or unsuitable when I got it but hey, I don't want conflict and upset.
It suits me so can anyone help me find an alternative in a size 10 please?

I mean the colour is described as ivory. I agree that it’s not bridal looking but can understand why they might want you to wear something different.

Well, I don't think there's anything wrong with the dress but I suppose if you want to get along then go for a different one.

With the right accessories, honestly cannot see the issue with this dress.... however

I actually think it is too white/ivory for the mother of the groom or any guess at a traditional wedding. I can see PPs have made some lovely suggestions.

I saw that blue one @Moier but it's out of stock. Nothing came up on your link for the pink one though. The Roman one also fits the too much white category. I will send the dress to the bride but possibly she'll say it is ok when she's not happy.

I think your dress is perfect, but your son’s opinion is more important and so you need a different dress. What a pity as that dress is fab.

I'm pretty baffled by most people saying they think it's fine, it's clearly in a bridal shade. Might not be a pure white, but given bright white is not flattering on most skin tones, I don't think I've been to a single wedding where the bride hasn't worn a cream/ivory/off-white. The decoration is also fairly evocative of some bridal gowns, certainly when seated (and you can't see the length) this will look bridal IMO.

I doubt your son came to the conclusion that it's "too white" on his own. This message is almost certainly coming from the bride, please don't message her about it.

I think it's fine and if you accessorise with grey it'll be grand. But if they're going to kick off then I guess I'd (grudgingly) get something different. Shame the blue is out of stock.

Some people lose themselves when wedding planning. I watched an otherwise rational woman cry about ribbon- it was the wrong shade of purple (like it was mid violet not deep violet 😵‍💫). Nuts.

Try eBay. They usually have quite a few Phase Eight tape work dresses. I have one in black and white I bought for £10 recently.
