It says deleted, but it was just discussing sizes, sleeve lengths etc.

what is weird...before the thread was taken down ,people gave honest reviews positive and negative. now it feels like everyone is just positive, not to get taken down? We are not discussing national security here, it is just clothes. I purchase a lot from them, because I love the style. But over the years it has been hit or miss, and many things do get returned. Same as with any other shopping experience.

I love your style, sounds wonderful. Did you get the skirts you posted on the other thread yet? (not stalking you 😄just wondered how they went with the C&R garments).

I love the fairisle colours and am dropping major hints for Christmas.

Thank you! Yes, I have kept both of those skirts - they are really useful pieces. The Brora one is slightly more blue than I was expecting and not sure it will go as well with the C&R knitwear as I thought, but still a great skirt - I haven’t worn it yet (did get it out today, but changed my mind and put the cords on). I wore the cream one twice last week (once on the day I borrowed dh’s very muddy car…typical) - once with the brown cashmere tank and a silk shirt and the other time with the Toast jumper it is actually styled with on the website.

Hi everyone. We're happy to explain. Certain posts on the thread were reported to us and were the subject of a libel complaint. Part of the libel process we follow means we must be able to contact the posters concerned. If we're unable to do so for any reason (e.g. a poster leaves the site) then we take the thread/posts down.

HothouseFlower · 27/11/2024 11:35

Thanks for explaining Becky.
What a pity all the valuable and constructive information was lost though.

Sureyouareveryhelpful · 27/11/2024 11:41

Thank you Becky, it’s good of you to bring this to light. Hopefully moving forwards the thread will be constructive and objective.

Rosescountrylifecottage · 27/11/2024 12:11

I don’t think I’ve read one post which isn’t objective and fair

Rosescountrylifecottage · 27/11/2024 12:16

This is a copy of what another mumsnetter posted :-

To think most of Mumsnet do not understand libel?

It is really common on here now to see an accusation that what an MNer said is libellous. It rarely is.
Libel is not a criminal offence, it is a civil wrong. Someone has to take you to court.
Libel refers to damaging someone's reputation and character and is based on stating as fact, things that are untrue.
So if I said someone famous who is known to be in a happy marriage was having an affair with someone else, and that was false and I said it maliciously, it would probably be potentially libellous i.e. that famous person could take me to court. Although unless you have an online following, that is very unlikely to happen.
But if I said the famous person was sleazy and I would not trust them, they seem the kind to pretend to have a happy marriage in public while having multiple affairs, that is unlikely to be libellous. It is my opinion and is not presented as a fact. It is the second kind of statement that some MNers keep saying is libellous.
You can say legally that you consider a named politician or famous person to be untrustworthy, sleazy, a bit thick, etc. It is opinion.
So please stop telling people that what they have said is libellous. The only potentially libellous comments I have ever seen on MN (rare) are deleted when reported. The matter is just an opinion that you may or may not agree with.

Rosescountrylifecottage · 27/11/2024 12:19

no one is going to come on here saying something is longer than it should be or whatever and it not be true!.

like I’ve mentioned , I think I know where this has stemmed from . The thing is , we have shared true , fair , unbiased opinions.

I think we can all agree we love the designs in general and are disappointed the brand isn’t making clothes going forward apparently .

if there were problems with items and cabbages decide their plan of action then that would of happened anyway with or without mumsnet.

Rosescountrylifecottage · 27/11/2024 12:21

At the end of the day everyone is allowed honest opinions and chat.

IAm16StoneHalloween2024 · 27/11/2024 12:59

Thanks @BeckyAMumsnet.

So I'd just like to say I love cabbages and roses. Any colour rose, I'm not picky.

I'd never heard of the clothing brand Cabbages and Roses until it popped up in Active last week. I've never looked at their website. Though I now know they sell clothes.

All of their clothes, I'm sure, would fit me like a glove. The sleeves would be perfect. The fabric weight would always be appropriate for the item. I would have no issues with anything. There would be no returns obviously, because measurements on the website would always match measurements on the item.

The only thing I'm sure of is that they read this thread and they are happy to have lawyers on standby.

Have M&S ever sent in a similar message? Or any number of large or small companies that have been spoken about over the years?

I really hope you enjoy wearing your C&R clothing. I think it’s clear to see that the brand is very popular indeed.

Do you own any of the clothing @Sureyouareveryhelpful

TheLeadbetterLife · 27/11/2024 13:15

This thread is even weirder than the previous ones. I love it.

What's your opinion of the fairisle? As I've mentioned before, I'm thinking of buying one or two pieces. Which would you recommend?

Rosescountrylifecottage · 27/11/2024 13:21

👀 people see what I see I think .

But what is the damage?

Sureyouareveryhelpful · 27/11/2024 13:25

I don’t understand this PR statement, please don’t assume. I hope your purchases go well, the fair isle looks very pretty btw.

MermaidEyes · 27/11/2024 13:27

@HothouseFlower well there isn't any on this thread, but presumably was something on the last thread that wasn't accepted by someone or other. Which then makes the brand look bad to posters. I just find the whole posting style of that poster rather....strange

Oh no, it's a perfectly normal style of posting.

They are indeed perfection.

Confused

Totally agree.
It's not doing the brand any favours!

Sureyouareveryhelpful · 27/11/2024 13:34

Please do share pictures of your Fairisle purchase. It would be lovely to see what we are all on her to discuss. I didn’t see anything before so can’t comment. If anything, going by what you are saying people actually like the brand so I don’t think what you are saying happened would have made the brand look bad. Quite the opposite in my opinion.

What do you mean?

Sureyouareveryhelpful · 27/11/2024 13:40

Sorry, I’m just very confused by all this chat. I thought you were happy with the brand so how could that be a bad thing?
