I love the outfit. I'm probably about the same age as her, and I'd happily wear that. Not the most flattering photo cos her eyes look a bit closed.

She looks great!

Eyes are closed because of the weight of mascara pulling the eyelids down !

quoque · 24/11/2024 11:35

She doesn't look remotely posh, nor is she supposed to, surely? I'd interpret the point of the image as suggesting that everybody has a bit of punk in them? The whole point of VW was to be edgy and unconventional, and this model/styling fits right in with that.

FranticFrankie · 24/11/2024 11:37

Love that cardy- but I love cardigans
Her hair is lovely but not keen on the eye make up
Agree she does look a bit like ‘Bubbles’ Rothermere!

Jacopo · 24/11/2024 11:37

If this just appeared in your FB feed OP it’s almost certainly a spam site operating out of China. Like all those ones advertising leather goods, saying oh boo-hoo I am having to close down my decades-old family business and sell off all my stock.

DrZaraCarmichael · 24/11/2024 11:39

Is this the OP who posts pics of designer shapeless tent dresses on "I am 50 and don't know what to wear to a wedding" thread?

Or just people who think if you're not 20 and a size 4 or 6 then your ideas are just not worth bothering about?

chickennoodless · 24/11/2024 11:40

I LOVE Viv clothes!

if this has inspired anyone there are some great bits you can get second hand online - a lot of people buy then struggle to wear in real life.

I mix my bits in with charity shop finds- the look is always layered with VW!

note the jewellery is usually classic pearls and the handbags are always structured - it’s a fine line between looking like a lady or a tramp!

mrstumbler · 24/11/2024 11:40

I thought it was Kelly Osbourne for a second !

She is fabulous and I adore her! I want to be her best friend

Haha...that's what I thought when I looked at the photo.
I have no idea who she is, but she looks like someone who would be great company on a night out.
Confidence and happiness (if we are lucky enough to have both) are two of the most attractive features a woman (and a man) can have.

spanglypen · 24/11/2024 11:41

For me it's the makeup that's the problem. I like the outfit and hair. The make up makes her look half dead

spring49ooaA · 24/11/2024 11:42

I love what she's wearing, which probably cost a small fortune. I'm not sure what answers you were hoping to get from your post.

Amarige · 24/11/2024 11:43

Looks like a bloke or a character from a 1979 Hammee House of Horror film.

SweetSixty · 24/11/2024 11:44

Where did the OP go? Did Dorothy's house fall on her?

TheBigSalami · 24/11/2024 11:47

There’s no way that’s a legit Vivienne Westwood ad.

Sugarflub · 24/11/2024 11:49

whatwhatnot · 24/11/2024 11:20

I'm really surprised at the reactions here. This looks nothing like a Vivienne Westwood advert just from the photograph quality and its composition. The campaigns are typically very high definition photographs with clear lines that show off the shape of the clothes. This is a bit blurry and looks like an amateur shot taking at a bonfire or Christmas market. By comparison the Spring 24 ad campaign featured Naomi Campbell.

This is what VW ads normally look like:

https://theimpression.com/vivienne-westwood-pre-fall-2024-ad-campaign-review-2/

This is the Autumn/Winter 24/25 ad campaign and that photo isn't among the images

https://www.viviennewestwood.com/collections/autumn-winter-2024-25/campaign/

So I definitely think that's most likely a fake advert. Even if I'm wrong, it's a terrible ad - the photo is poor quality, the composition is messy, the model clearly looks like a man in drag - which maybe the point @isitsnowingyett an it lacks the clear lines and clarity of showing off the clothes which VW adverts normally have.

I agree, it looks nothing like any of their other campaigns so not sure of the 'very Westwood' comments as its not. It looks like a fake image tbh, but even if not also confused by the comments around people not liking it because it's a middle aged woman; if so then yes, one who has evidently had fillers/botox or whatever else so hardly inspirational.

Uppitywoman · 24/11/2024 11:49

She looks fantastic. Love her hair. I like the way she clearly has her own style.

BeTwinklyKhakiPanda · 24/11/2024 11:49

You're right. None of those clothes are on the vivienne westwood site, sadly. Not that I can afford vivienne westwood, but I thought I might see them better there

Onand · 24/11/2024 11:49

I bet OPs FB feed is usually filled with sweets in pizza boxes and SHEIN hauls 🙄

zingally · 24/11/2024 11:49

I mean, it's not a look I'd go for. She reminds me of some of my friends mums from the early 90s!

She looks like she'd be a great laugh though!

Perhaps they're trying to address the problem that when you use 7ft tall size 6 models with an average age of 19, the women with the money to actually buy your £400 cropped cardigans and £1k jackets think 'nah.'

NearlyXmasTime · 24/11/2024 11:53

It’s refreshing to see a woman around this age wearing something different from the middle aged uniform of wide legged trousers.

Chellybelle · 24/11/2024 11:53

If you're having a dig about the woman's physical features you're mean. If it's about the styling, you're not wrong. In my opinion.

bunnybunnybunnybunny · 24/11/2024 11:54

You ok hun?

The styling is totally on brand for Westwood.

Edited to add that I'm getting so bored of these repellent posts judging other women's looks

Bluenoodles · 24/11/2024 11:55

Looks more m&s than vivienne Westwood, but beyond that don’t get the post ?

Frequency · 24/11/2024 11:55

I love that cardigan. I'm not keen on the eyeshadow, it looks badly applied and dated but apart from that she looks great.

I like it when clothes designers use actual people to model their clothes, it makes it easier to imagine how you would look. Supermodel types would look great in a bin liner. That cardigan looks good on her figure and the colours suit her skin tone.

HoppingPavlova · 24/11/2024 11:55

I think they missed the mark, as on first look I thought it was an advert for the food. But I think she looks fine and my assumption is it would be a fun gathering with her there. I really like the cardigan and think she is a good choice to model it, I’d buy it.

ETA- also no idea what the problem/travesty/hoo haa is.
