Beauty advent calendars 2024 #4

We still have 2 months to go so there's still time for dilemmas, decisions and discounts.

We have a few coming out this week including John Lewis, OK and No7. I'm still WAC (without advent calendar) but that may soon change!

Just bought mine, there is a store near me so I went for next day click and collect will be in my hands tomorrow!

Me too! I also had £10 off with my rewards, and had vouchers put aside anyway so treated myself to a little Clarins stocking filler too.
I will be annoyed if there's a further discount, or GWP but I'd be more annoyed if I missed out.

virgocatlover · 03/10/2024 08:14

I didn't have a discount unfortunately, but at the rate I was going I was worried I wouldn't have a calendar at all! I'll be annoyed if it gets reduced but I think it will be popular this year if CB and SNK have both sold out already.

Oh and I also got 0.75% cashback with Quidco. Not amazing but worth doing!

Summerdew · 03/10/2024 08:19

Glad you got a calendar @virgocatlover ! I was all set to get John Lewis too but had a cold look at the contents and am walking away. I’m happy with CB scent with love, Beauty Bay for my tweens to share and the Fortnums tea and biscuits one that PP enabled earlier! Also have a laithwaites wine calendar coming, but that’s more because I like to have a few small bottles of wine knocking around if I only want a glass.

OvaHere · 03/10/2024 07:04

That's true. Products do work differently on people. I'm glad the Moisture Surge works for someone!

It doesn't work for me either. I have very u fussy skin and was surprised as it's a well regarded brand.

Jeremono · 03/10/2024 08:26

Happy birthday @pinkchampagne1 🍾

I’m another that will get JL if reduced.

I usually get latest in beauty as a jadvent but I don’t recognise most of what’s in it this year.

I've signed up to be notified when naturismo goes on sale. I can't find a listing but the picture looks OK. Very little makeup by the looks of it. https://www.naturisimo.com/pages/advent-calendar-sign-up-page

There's a 15% discount on your first order too but may not apply to the advent.

I've gone for the jl! I just think it could be more popular than expected, on a further look it is actually quite well priced

Neversaygoodbye · 03/10/2024 08:36

I'm still hoping the boots 24 day will be reduced so I can use my points to buy it. Last resort, I will probably buy M&S and there's stuff in the glossy box my DD won't want so I can do swapsies.

Caramelandsalt · 03/10/2024 08:36

JL was reduced around the 9th Nov last year by about 10 or 15 pounds or so iirc .

IlovePond · 03/10/2024 08:52

Too much retinol for me in JL as I don’t use that at all, so it’s a miss from me😿

I am just wondering how people who ordered ASOS got on re: quality/packing issues. Has anyone on here bought one recently?

Thelifeofawife · 03/10/2024 08:56

@pinkchampagne1 Happy birthday 💐 and enjoy your calendar.

I’ve also ordered the JL calendar seeing as it doesn’t look like the Harrods one will be restocked. There are fewer products that I want in the JL one but for what I want the price is well worth it.
Sadly no rewards points for me to use towards it but I did go through TCB

I bought the ASOS one. It was fine apart from the eyeshadow palette which was damaged - one shade had come loose and broken. It wasn't a product I was bothered about but I would have passed it on to someone.

IlovePond · 03/10/2024 08:59

Thanks @OvaHere

Happy birthday @pinkchampagne1 🎂

IDontHateRainbows · 03/10/2024 09:46

I had a 15% off beauty reward in my John Lewis account, didn't think it would work on the AC but it does (although max off is £15) so it means I got the calendar for £180.

ElizabethG81 · 03/10/2024 09:53

I ordered the JL calendar and used the Jam Doughnut app that I saw recently on another thread. That gave about £6 cash back, plus £3 for it being my first purchased. You get a gift card through that app, then I also used top cash back and got another £1.95, so about £11 off overall if anyone's interested in using it.

clary · 03/10/2024 10:09

Ahhh ladies I too have caved and bought JL. I did think Space NK was good but too little fragrance for me for that price. Jl a bit cheaper. Plus I won £100 on PBs this week.

Couple of things I will sell on but mostly good. That Votary face mask is very yummy! Have bought it before.

Happy birthday @pinkchampagne1 !!

QueefofSheena · 03/10/2024 10:10

There are a few AC that I’ve seen that are only available in the US that I like the look of. The Replica one for instance. I don’t like them enough to look into international shipping though

Whataboutye · 03/10/2024 10:35

Still waiting on my space nk calender, just had a auto reply email, saying that the last batch of calenders will be send out by tomorrow. (4th October) not going to hold my breathe though, they've mess around so many times now. The excitement I had, for this calender is long gone, I'm just really pissed off now.

Thatsjustnotcrumble · 03/10/2024 10:49

I’m very tempted by the JL one, I have the £5 off if buying through the app, but that expires today. I can see I have another reward coming on the 14th, not sure if I can hold my nerve until then to see if it will be something to get more money off.

I also have a reward coming the 14th, but I didn't want to take the risk of it selling out as it seems many are selling out quite quickly this year

I think the Ted Baker advent calendar has a very pretty reusable tin. Boots have 10% off, which brings it down to £41.40. I am not a huge fan of TB beauty/skincare but this is very cute and reasonably priced.

Does anyone have it? Thanks

MidnightMeltdown · 03/10/2024 11:19

Happy Birthday @pinkchampagne1

Since when did 'need' ever come into advent calendar buying? 😄

MidnightMeltdown · 03/10/2024 11:25

JL looks good but I'm going to pass as I have enough calendars for this year. Excited for everyone getting it though!

Jeremono · 03/10/2024 12:00

I’ve gone for Holland & Barrett. At this rate I’m buying one just for the sake of it so I figured the H&B AC plus maybe a CB edit around Christmas time will satisfy my need to open something whilst costing less than a third of the other ACs I was considering.

Feeling very sensible.

I’ll probably use this as an excuse to splurge should any others get discounted but that’s neither here nor there 😂
