We still have 2 months to go so there's still time for dilemmas, decisions and discounts.

We have a few coming out this week including John Lewis, OK and No7. I'm still WAC (without advent calendar) but that may soon change!

I just ordered and got it confirmed! Thanks for the tip!

ElizabethG81 · 01/10/2024 12:15

I think I read on the previous thread that there's a Cult Beauty discount code but I can't find it now, does anyone have it?

It was CBAFF15. Try that

My SpaceNK status finally says “dispatched” 🙏 but the money hasn’t left my bank account yet. Strange.

MyStylish40s · 01/10/2024 12:21

And no email to say it has been dispatched

ElizabethG81 · 01/10/2024 12:28

Yes that works, thanks!

psuedocream3 · 01/10/2024 13:17

@MyStylish40s Mine was charged on day of delivery, rather than on dispatch.

I'm still waiting for a non-advent calendar order, seems they are a bit behind.

pinkchampagne1 · 01/10/2024 13:40

Just had a look on the Look Fantastic site and it says the Elemis set is no longer available due to high demand. Good job really as it may have swayed me to buy another calendar that I don’t really need!

JudgeBurrito · 01/10/2024 14:10

Well ladies and gents, it's finally happened. Space NK has been delivered! (To DH, so I still need to check it once I'm home).

@MyStylish40s so glad yours is despatched at last! Don't worry, I didn't receive a single email after ordering. No confirmation, no tracking. First I heard was the Royal Mail text to say it was going to be delivered.

MyStylish40s · 01/10/2024 14:11

Yay @JudgeBurrito 😃

MidnightMeltdown · 01/10/2024 14:54

My Space NK calendar was supposed to be delivered today but it hasn't been. Tracking shows that it arrived at my local depot this morning so hoping it will be delivered tomorrow.

@MyStylish40s I think that 'dispatched' means that they've put a label on it and booked a collection. You should get a text from RM when they collect it.

Some of us were interested in jewellery advent calendars. I saw on F&M that they stock a 12 days Missoma one right now for £395 https://www.fortnumandmason.com/missoma-exclusive-advent-calendar-2024

Still keeping an eye out for the Liberty Jewellery (12 days) and the Oliver Bonas jewellery (12 days gold or silver versions).

I'm doing a very poor job of lurking!

I have 4 calendars this year, Liberty, Harrods Fragrance, hot chocolate sachets and a chocolate one. I think that's my lot, I have all bases covered I would say.
There has also been a lot of advent buying in my office, seems I have set a trend with lots of people having one or getting them for family members. We are all going to very happy when 1st December rolls around :)

You're missing an alcohol one.

Isabelle70 · 01/10/2024 17:18

@OchonAgusOchonOh I nearly turned to that with the Harrods one 🤣
Not really much of a drinker so it would be wasted on me. I have thought of Nespresso but I have had one the last 2 years...

The Harrods one was definitely a trial for you all😀

Jeremono · 01/10/2024 18:57

I had considered a fragrance calendar but I don’t seem to get through perfume very quickly so have a backlog. It also seems to go off after a year.

Odd question but for those of you who wear it, how many spritzes of perfume do you use a day?

pinkchampagne1 · 01/10/2024 20:05

I am the same. I loved the look of the Harrods fragrance calendar but perfumes last me years. I work in a pre school so don’t wear expensive perfumes to work every day & save the nice ones for evenings out.

BakeOffRewatch · 01/10/2024 20:13

@Jeremono That got me thinking! Two spritzes of perfume. One on neck, one on wrist and then I dab that wrist on the other wrist and my neck. It just be something I read in a women’s magazine decades ago about how to put on perfume and I’ve been doing it automatically since. @MiaN you seem to be the perfume guru here - is there a proper way?

DownThePubWithStevieNicks · 01/10/2024 20:17

I had Liberty last year. I have used almost everything, but thought the stuff looked a bit samey this year?

Thinking about SpaceNK for this year but haven’t taken the plunge yet. Also looked at Cult Beauty but was less fussed for the contents. Don’t need/want three new blushers…

Isabelle70 · 01/10/2024 20:27

For perfume I do one or two pumps each side of the neck and maybe a pump on each wrist area. I don't touch and leave to dry as I am sure I read that rubbing affects the molecule's ?
I normally have one or two perfumes on the go and use them up before going to the next ones..

Jeremono · 01/10/2024 20:30

That’s interesting. I do two on the neck as I don’t like it on wrists in case the cat rubs on it and it makes him do that >.< face.

I wondered if others sprayed more so got through their bottles quicker than I do.

Growlybear83 · 01/10/2024 20:35

Maybe I'm overdoing it - I usually have at least six squirts on my neck and one or two on each wrist 😆. I don't find thst most perfume masts very well on me, so I usually have another spray late afternoon, and then I spray a different perfume when I go to bed.

MiaN · 01/10/2024 20:40

I think perfume does not go off. Maybe some of the newer alcohol free type do but most perfumes don't. I don't worry about going off, not for years anyway.

How many sprays depends on the perfume. 2 will be enough for Victoria Beckham Porifino as its very strong, 6 for something light and fresh as Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt and I am likely to top up in the afternoon - it's so delicate.

You can wear perfume for yourself. How I feel and how I want to feel are often deciding for me, as long as it's suitable for the office/location. I could end up wearing expensive perfume while walking the dog if it will put me in mood. One that is clean and fresh when on public transport - I spray it on my scarf and it offers me escape from whatever smells I don't want to deal with. I use one of the SpaceNK from last year on my fluffy dressing gown and it makes it feel so comforting and cozy

CorneliaStreet · 01/10/2024 20:42

I usually do three sprays on my wrist and two on the back of my neck under my hair. Less if it’s a really strong perfume like Si or Scherzo.

If it’s a lighter perfume I sometimes spray a couple more sprays onto the front of my top (from a distance so it doesn’t mark it) just before I leave the house. I can smell it on myself for longer if I do that.

I pretty much always do two perfumes a day, one in the morning and a different one for the evening (and sometimes another one again just before bed). Daytime ones tend to be florals or citrus and evenings warmer, more amber or gourmand perfumes.

I’m a bit obsessed with perfume!

MiaN · 01/10/2024 20:43

Also some last better on clothes but make sure you spray from some distance and test on tops you don't care much to avoid stains! Do not spray wool coats/puffer jackets and anything that is hard to wash or clean as some fabrics hold perfume for long and you may want to move on from the scent without washing/dry cleaning
