Beauty advent calendars 2024 #4

We still have 2 months to go so there's still time for dilemmas, decisions and discounts.

We have a few coming out this week including John Lewis, OK and No7. I'm still WAC (without advent calendar) but that may soon change!

It was in my basket but I restrained myself. I actually think I might prefer Sephora. There are some things I really like in the SpaceNK calendar, but quite a few I wouldn’t use. By contrast, apart from the Sephora own products and the dry shampoo I think I would use everything in Sephora. (Plus, it’s £50 cheaper.)

Just a quick question: Did those of you who bought the Sephora a/c get the GWP with it? I am annoyed at missing that.

Oh I was going for normal.

The normal one is out of stock and has been for a little while

I managed to buy it ok and add vouchers/ ndulge points bringing down to £105. I reckon the website is overwhelmed.

It was back in stock this morning but very low availability

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 15/10/2024 08:21

Hi @IlovePond no I did get as far as checkout but I was looking for the Sunday Riley kit and managed to get the deal better elsewhere. That said I'm generally a sucker for a lovely lip balm Grin

1apenny2apenny · 15/10/2024 08:22

The normal one showed as in stock at 7:30, I had it in my basket but payment wouldn't go through. Today was the rumoured day for a new drop.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 15/10/2024 08:22

My Penhaligons delivery should be at the shop for collection today! Very excited, can't wait to see the gift packaging

IDontHateRainbows · 15/10/2024 08:26

I advise caution to anyone trying to order space nk ( normal) calendar. They are not known for excellent stock control, I wouldn't assume it's yours until it's been despatched.

Growlybear83 · 15/10/2024 08:27

My Penhaligon's delivery is due today - I'm very excited too 😆

TriciaMcMillan · 15/10/2024 08:29

@MiaN wait for December and we can do Harrods together!

IlovePond · 15/10/2024 08:43

Thanks @tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz - I was wondering as mine came squashed, no box or foil seal. They have refunded me but I was wondering if they were all sent out like that. It’s put me off buying lip balm, etc. online. I really hate it when there’s no hygiene seal or sealed packaging.

On a related note: I was in TKMaxx the other day and a woman was opening all the bath and skincare products and dipping her fingers in whilst reporting back to her friend on the phone 🤢

TriciaMcMillan · 15/10/2024 09:02

@IIlovePond that is absolutely disgusting 🤢

IlovePond · 15/10/2024 09:05

I know @TriciaMcMillan - it’s put me right off (and I do like a TKMaxx bargain). What’s wrong with people???

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 15/10/2024 09:11

Eugh how revolting 🤢

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 15/10/2024 09:16

A few weeks ago I ordered a small perfume atomiser from L'Occitane and I've just now had a go at filling it with my Moon Carnival. Managed not to spill any thanks to the cute little funnel it has. I'm really pleased with it and it looks so cute and means I don't have to lug the beautiful but heavy bottle when we go away next week.

I'd recommend as a lovely stocking filler but either order if you a) can't get free delivery and would rather have a "thing" to show for equivalent cost or, b) wait until they do automatic site wide free delivery as then if you use a new customer 10%code you'll benefit from both as you can't stack codes.

@TriciaMcMillan I am really looking forward to December perfume advent chats, even for those that I don't have! Most are 12 days and I wonder how will this work? I don't mind either way but it will be good fun to read first impressions

Caramelandsalt · 15/10/2024 09:53

Do we all post on this thread after opening in Dec ? I know we have got a variety of calendars, but I for one would like to know what people have got and their thoughts on the products.

QueefofSheena · 15/10/2024 10:08

I’ve got the SNK fragrance AC in my basket but I don’t think I’m going to go for it. There’s only one I really want so I’m probably going to take my chances on Vinted

I have bought a couple of atomisers (the long tubes with a spray at the top) off Amazon, think it was £3.50 for 2, they work fine to decant the dab bottles into if anyone prefers to spray, as I do.

AprilLady · 15/10/2024 10:49

@Caramelandsalt there are usually threads for individual calendars but also a “Waifs and strays” general opening thread for everyone opening any of the calendars and wanting to share and see what others have got.

I thought you were meant to start the 12 day calendars on the first day of Christmas, so I always open my first drawer on 25 December.

Fancyateapottea · 15/10/2024 11:00

Sorry if this has already been posted but I noticed LF are doing an extra 1000 points on spends over £80.

So I’ve brought the AC and will get £15 worth of points in return. I think that’s really good value for some of the higher value products in it.

I’m going to get a few bits on Vinted to swap out some of the days of doom.

52crumblesofautumn · 15/10/2024 11:01

Korres advent is out - I did buy the CB £90 holiday set as the two eye things were on my Black Friday hit list so v pleased with that.

52crumblesofautumn · 15/10/2024 11:03

That's what I did @Fancyateapottea think LF is a bit funny as some products were great for those of us of a certain age and others younger but the overall value was worth it (alongside outing the unwanted items). I made someone's day offloading the DoDs v quickly!

QueefofSheena · 15/10/2024 11:26

If I Get HN Fragrance I’m going to start opening on Saturday 21st so I’ll open the last one on Christmas Day. I’ll join in on Harrods fragrance too, I’ve opened it but I haven’t tried most of them yet.
