With just under 3 months to go until 1 December, there are some big decisions to be made! Thread to discuss advent calendars while we wait for more content revelations and release dates.

Any suggestions for 21yr old son advent calendar, feel bad that his sister is getting one but not found one for him that he would like, he’s,defo not in touch with his feminine side, but does (of course) ladle on the lynx Africa…..

What has happened to me 😭

Harrods fragrance has arrived! Its the second order number that I placed on the day they were all cancelled. I presume they looked at and understood my orders because the first was cancelled/refunded but I had no instructions about phoning up like others.
Very happy it all worked out and hope everyone else gets theirs soon. It's put me in a good AC mood and now I'm considering SpaceNK!

I'm also in the lookout for an AC for my DS.

I've been told in these parts that there's a Lynx AC and a Flannels for men cracker.

From socials it looks like there will be 3 Boots calendars - a 'luxury' calendar, a skincare calendar and a 12 day calendar.

I'm not keen on the 12 day calendars - they are supposed to be for the 12 days of Xmas but I would rather a 24-25 day-er.

If the luxury and skincare calendars are both good (and not similar to each other) I may get both and not bother with JL.

I still use last year’s H&B box for small toys in my daughter’s room. And the Molton Brown box (which was very beautiful with great pull out drawers) turned into a luxury small teddy hotel…

I have a feeling Space NK will email those of us who signed up for the calendar, a few days before Thursday, possibly Monday or Tuesday.
I didn’t buy it last year, but I don’t remember them doing any sort of discount on it.

@virgocatlover Has Boots actually announced the contents of their premium calendar?

No they haven't announced the full list, just 'sneak peeks' on Instagram. There is a bum bum cream, Drunk Elephant product, Grown Alchemist product and Huda Beauty lip product. It's annoying as they show which doors they are in (while I want to know the products, I would rather not know when they are 'scheduled'.)

It sounds very similar to the one they did last year so. I really liked it but wouldn’t be interested in getting it again if it’s too similar

There's definitely a gap in the market for something for younger men. My DS who'll be 17 by December is really into fragrance but not bothered by skincare and doesn't really shave much yet so grooming type calendars would not be a hit, and he'd turn his nose up at Lynx! Last year I made him one from fragrance samples that I got on ebay etc. I may do the same this year if I can find new things. He's already had a couple of ones from the Flannels cracker and the Perfume Society seemed to have stopped doing men's Discovery Boxes

Hi, I went into a Rituals store today- no a/c in store yet, but they were doing a GWP for purchases over £45 if you were signed up with them. It was a travel-sized perfume. I was tempted, but restrained myself.

They claim it’s worth £405 but there’s nothing listed about cost to buy the bag and the minimum purchase price that I could see.

I am underwhelmed- it’s even more sparse than last year’s offering. I usually get it every year as I use the night serum and eye serum daily. However, I am leaning towards giving it a miss this year - there’s not even a mini moisturiser to bulk it out a bit!

The Ester Lauder Blockbusters are disappointing now. I’ve been getting them for twenty or so years. It was a good Christmas present for my dad to buy me each year. The earlier ones contained several lipsticks, nail varnishes, a couple of eye-shadow palettes, blushers, pencils etc. It was a real treat. I haven’t wanted it for the past four or five years as it’s such a pitiful offering now.

I think I’ve settled on Space NK. Anybody know when it’s likely to be for sale and whether it’s likely to sell out? I would quite like to know what’s in Boots premium before I commit but then worried it will sell out!

I feel very prepared this year! I’ve already bought my kids advent calendars. I never normally buy them toy advents but I had a bit of the guilt this year of getting myself something extravagant and them the usual cadburys. So they have Jurassic World, Polly Pocket and My Little Pony. Bet they get bored within a week and decide the chocolate is better anyway!

Didn't know H&B did one til I saw this thread, it's really good value for me as would use most of it. Ordered one for my mum for Xmas too!

Last year I got LIB, OK. glossybox and M&S (get this every year from my mum) and really liked them. Looked at LIB as I had a discount but don't think I'd use enough of it. Cant really see any others I like yet. Waiting for the OK & glossybox ones to be released to see if they're worth it.....

My 21 year old son is getting a lego star wars one.
