With just under 3 months to go until 1 December, there are some big decisions to be made! Thread to discuss advent calendars while we wait for more content revelations and release dates.

There is a Harrods beauty advent on EBay for £670 too. Why would anyone buy that when it is still available online for £250?! 🤔

I’m considering the Space NK beauty, there’s quite a few things in there I’d like for myself and would gift a few of the full sizes to family as Christmas presents.

Did my analysis of Vogue and Cult Beauty last night. Vogue is actually a bit better on a closer look. It’s the only calendar which has a genuine, £20+, full size item in every draw - even if this includes scarves and playing cards. Quite a lot I will use, and everything else is sellable given that it’s proper full size items.

CB is the other end if the scale: a small number of good big ticket items like the EGF serum, a few cheaper full size items, and then lots and lots of what are essentially samples and tiny sizes. Because it’s a bit cheaper anyway, and because of the few high value items, it’s not bad value, but I think probably best for someone who wants to try lots of little bits.

Also looked at Next - not bad at all, I think better than LiB for that price point, though still need to add LIB to the spreadsheet.

Harrods and SpaceNk remain the pick of the bunch this year for me.

In other news, my Harrods fragrance calendar is finally out for delivery with DPD, scheduled to arrive this afternoon!

Good they seem to be dispatching straight away, I ordered mine on weds so hopefully it lands next week

Maybe someone living outside the UK? Still mad though.

In fairness, it is a thing of beauty.

I'm annoyed as I signed up for the waitlist for Anthropologie only to find out it's on sale now. For £88. It's not bad but everything is so small and nothing that really appeals now. Pretty box though.

Still waiting for Boots: apparently out Sept 12th.

Took delivery of the H&B calendar this morning. I hadn't paid much attention to the format of the calendar (and expectations were low based on previous years' experience - I had to tape it back together one year!) so I was pleasantly surprised that it's a nice sturdy box with two drawers filled with boxes. It'll be ideal to re-use for storing Christmas decs, or tags and ribbonss etc.
If I don't end up with another calendar for some reason, I'd actually be pretty satisfied with H&B

Mine has shipped. I ended up ordering 4. One for me, one for dd, one for dn and one for a friend.

Just did my daily Harrods check and my Fragrance Calendar is preparing to ship. I will miss logging on to my account every day if I finally get it , it’s become a ritual. @MiaN I have been loving hearing all your knowledge about the fragrance houses byredo Bal D’Afrique is one of my favourites so I will definately be checking out the Rare Beauty Body mist (Is it the find comfort one?)

That's the No.7 ones. I'm talking about the multi brand Premium Boots calendar. Was amazing last year for about £99

My Harrods fragrance has come

According to Beauty Detective the White Company advent is £195 this year and the picture seems to show a lot of mini shower gels and creams, one full size candle and a couple of smaller candles.

Seems a bit of a rip off, which is a shame as I’d really like a decent bath and body care calendar (and I’m not a massive fan of either Rituals or L’Occitane products).
