Sandals that hide or mostly cover toes?

Newnamesameoldlurker · 20/04/2024 15:05

I have very ugly toes. Every summer I start an extensive search for sandals that don't fully expose them and I always find it very difficult to find attractive styles. I keep coming back to fisherman styles but they look a bit clunky on me (I'm very tall and can't pull off anything too bulky/masculine). Any other ugly- toed women on this board who could make some suggestions?!

Toes are ugly, everyone has ugly toes. What about getting a pedicure to give them a little colour?

paristotokyo · 20/04/2024 15:47

I hate having toes on display and love my menorcan sandals. Also called avarcas. I buy them from Solillas as they are the most comfy for me but they're more expensive lately but you can find others online. Or cheaper in Spain!

KirstenBlest · 20/04/2024 15:52

I was going to say avarcas too

drawnfrommemory · 20/04/2024 16:01

Menorcan Sandals - I get mine from Palmaira.

I do get regular pedicures so they are well- groomed and ugly 😅 - I know I'm just being vain and probably nobody notices or cares about my misshapen toes! It's just a hangup I can't seem to shake

Thanks everyone for these very helpful suggestions! Going to get a pair of menorcan sandals. I will look at those hotter choices too. Really appreciate the replies

Try Josef-Seibel, I have ‘ROSALIE’ but there are others in the range.

yarnwitch · 20/04/2024 17:28

Have a look at Saltwater Shark sandals, they mostly hide the toes

Weighnow · 20/04/2024 17:29

I have horrible damaged toenails and have spent a fortune over the years on sandals that cover them, but are just as ugly as my feet 🤣

I've given up and spend the summer in trainers

marshmallowhearts · 20/04/2024 18:03

I have a pair of huaracha sandals that are more delicate than fisherman styles. Mine are mostly backless with ankle ties to hold them on.

Cheeesus · 20/04/2024 18:12

Espadrille types can be good and some have gappy bits in the toe for more summery-ness.

Google fisherman sandals, I hide my hideous toes in various versions of these

Solillas sandals

I love these (although I don't have an issue with my toes!)

These are lovely! Do they size up big or small? I also hate my toes and these look perfect.

paristotokyo · 20/04/2024 23:41

@JAS1983 in my experience they are very true to size and don't slip off the heel like some others do

This year mesh ballerina flats are really in fashion, I’ve seen a few around. I’m curious about them, haven’t tried any on but maybe they could work for you?

I've actually just bought a pair of these!

I'm a bit worried to wear them as they're quite 'trendy' 😅 but going to be brave

I have a selection of cage sandals from previous summers. If I find some that work I get them in every colour and sometimes two in the neutral colour as they’re so hard to find.

Yeah, I like the look of those! They have an edge. I think I might try some. Please report back and tell us what you think of them.

Bought a pair which arrived yesterday - currently breaking in for upcoming city break, they are lovely!

Lavendersquare · 25/04/2024 23:24

These are lovely and super comfy.

I'm not a fan of my feet but have bought this style for the past couple of years from Zara and as they come quite a bit forward, they I don't show so much toe.

Lots of colours to choose from (I'm usually a 6 bit sized up to a 7).

FrogTheWarrior · 01/05/2024 20:28

I totally understand where you’re coming from OP. I always felt very uncomfortable baring my toes in the office! They’re not particularly ugly, but it’s just….feety 😂

I think you’re sorted now anyway, but something like this might work too.
