How old is this bride?

I'm thinking of wearing this for my wedding. My friend think it ages me considerably. Wedding is informal and low key. How old would you think the bride would be wearing this?

I’m going to go against the grain here and say you can do better. It’s a pretty dress, but doesn’t have the wow effect. It’s perfect for a low key wedding where the bride wants to keep it simple but definitely not for someone who wants to wow, which you can still do for a small wedding.

The Maggie Soretto dress is beautiful. Can you afford it or find a similar one?

Try Rixo! They’ve got some lovely bridal dresses that aren’t over the top but still have a boho/vintage feel. It looks fabulous on you, much better than on the model.

I actually like the dress (especially the pattern) but I’m not sure it’s flattering. I assume the model has a tiny waist but it makes her look like she’s holding a little weight there. Mind you, I think it perhaps lacks a belt or something. I’d speak to a really good seamstress and they can advise.

The dress is nice, it's just way to big on you! Could you size down and then get it altered to fit perfectly?

As an aside, you have a gorgeous figure. Really and truly. You will wow your husband to be in any dress.

Not sure if anyone has suggested this, but I have limited lunchbreak left! Look on vinted and ebay. I found the designer dress I tried on that was over 1500 on vinted for 300. I will probably sell it on again after so I'm considering it a rental. I love it so much. I would never have paid the full whack for it.

I really like the dress on you, however I agree the sleeves are too long. If you have a decent seamstress near you it might be possible to get them trimmed and finished to a more attractive length?

If you really like the vintage/boho vibe then take a look at Needle and Thread - some really pretty (albeit a bit more expensive) dresses.

Wed2B also worth a look if there's one nearby. It's hit and miss with what they have in your size, but for example this has a similar bridal feel and wow factor to the one you love but is 1k cheaper.

I think any tall, thin / willowy woman would suit this dress - whatever age they were.

It would not look good on me - 5'2" and pear-shaped.

My point is you need to go for a shape / style that suits you. From what you have shared, I think there would be better shapes out there for you. Loads of nice dresses on John Lewis

I'm a bit older and a bit plumper than you (!) but found beautiful dresses on needle and thread. I ended up getting mine from there for my also v informal 2nd wedding in June.

If you do order then from though my advice would be to size up.

I think it's a timeless ageless casual/boho look.
It is a lovely flowing shape on you. Loose or half up/down hair, flowers or lace in hair and light makeup and you will be stunning.

I'm not keen on the 'fancy one' but the fashion for dresses which have a sheer overlay on a nude lining to look transparent isn't to my taste really.

As others have said: it needs to feel beautiful to you. If you aren't loving the first one and don't want to spend as much as the second one you need to keep looking.

I think that dress is gorgeous on you and more striking than the usual wedding dresses you see. I think it will look really special in photos and won't 'date' your wedding really obviously.

A seamstress/tailor would sort the length and sleeves for a perfect fit, and a bit of tailoring needs to be done with any wedding dress.

But having typed that, if it doesn't feel right then I'm sure you will find something equally lovely.

My DD just found the most amazing prom dress on Depop. Might be worth a look, and Etsy has vintage ones.

It's gorgeous, really ethereal. I'd imagine a bride with long loose curls and maybe a braid or two. Id wear it
