We haven't long moved into our home and i desperately need a vanity area. I have so much stuff in boxes (hair strangers, curlers, makeup perfume etc) that I don't want to leave lying around as I have small children. And DP would also like a bit of space to trim his beard and shave his head 😂 his words not mines.

I don't have a massive amounts of space. So I was looking for some inspiration for our bedroom.

Thanks!

Where would you put it? Can you make an area in your bedroom?

The thing I find awkward with vanity tables is the height. No one blow dries their hair sitting down. I think I would rather have a lit mirror at my face height, and a small dresser for all my stuff. Just like your bathroom vanity without the sink! In fact most vanities are sold with the wood base and then you buy the counter and sink separately. Just replace the sink top with solid surface.

Look for a small cabinet or sideboard about counter height, add a nice mirror, make sure there is an electrical outlet nearby.

I blow dry my hair sitting at my dressing table. Always have.

I also blow dry my hair at my dressing table.

I always sit down to blow dry my hair.

I have a larger version of this and have a plug socket behind it with my straighteners, curlers and hairdryer permanently plugged in and ready to use. I have my makeup and perfume on it, a much bigger mirror and a comfortable matching chair.

I don't have one but my teenage daughter does 😂 Small Ikea table (I think it was under £30) and Hollywood mirror. She does all her make-up/hair etc there.

P.S. Please ignore mess on chair and the dog 😁

My daughter also has this turning stand on her dressing table which holds her creams/perfume/make-up etc. It's quite practical.

This was my inspiration pic. I have a desk from Argos (handles changed) and then thin mirrored acrylic above it on the wall flush against the desk. It's by a window so didn't really worry about lights but would be easy to incorporate.

I couldn't manage with the tiny drawers you get on some vanities, have far too much stuff to hide away. The desk I have has shelves on the side where I keep my hairdryer. I also sit down to blow my hair.

I have one built into my wardrobes like this, but with doors on so I can close it away when it's messy!

Ignore the deodorant bottles that were waiting to go downstairs but this mine. I love it. Esp my fluffy stool!
