Botox is it worth it?

Im 50 and all of a sudden I have wrinkles and lines which are really aging, I also look like I’m permanently scowling or growling with collapsed eye brows. Also hate my 11 lines.

I just want to look like a fresher version of my self. Anyone relate? Did Botox fix it for you?

I love botox I've had it twice and the results are fantastic. I desperately need to get some more when I can afford it. My mum who is 62 gets it now religiously and looks fabulous.

Touty · 29/01/2024 23:43

@todayshappening oh thanks, what do you get done? Do you feel that it makes you look younger. How long does it last?

Yes it is totally worth it!

OhSmitty · 29/01/2024 23:45

I'm in my 40s and only started last year. The results are better than expected. I do look fresher and smoother. I don't think it's obvious, the people I've told do seem surprised.

Ewoklady · 29/01/2024 23:48

100percent worth it
make up sits better, you look less tired and fresher

Morewineplease10 · 29/01/2024 23:59

Yep! Love it!
Choose your clinic carefully and don't overdo it.

MrsSkylerWhite · 30/01/2024 00:02

You really need to try Frownies for your 11s before Botox. I’m 59 and honestly, I just don’t have them. Stick with them scrupulously for a month and you’ll see a big difference.

Windmill34 · 30/01/2024 00:05

You have to keep up with it though, once you stop “ back as it was”
expensive hobby

Yes love it. I have a lot of movement in my forehead yet my lines have gone. Go to a medically qualified person. I can recommend someone in London.

WhatAMessAgain123 · 30/01/2024 06:23

It’s amazing. I’m early 40s and been getting it for a few years and I no longer have 11s, plus my forehead is so smooth. I wouldn’t be without it now. As previous poster said, make goes on loads better, and I just look fresher.

Purplecatshopaholic · 30/01/2024 06:38

I love it. Just a little where needed makes a huge difference - you look like you, but fresher. Totally worth it.

foodtoorder · 30/01/2024 06:41

100% worth it!

specialk9 · 30/01/2024 06:55

Yes. It's brilliant as long as you don't over do it.

My fave is smooth. I look brighter and more alert (it lifts the eyebrows slightly).

Only downside is, I haven't been able to afford it the last year due to various circs, and I feel awful looking at myself in the mirror.

I'm re booked in for March !

wereonthemarket · 30/01/2024 06:57

I hated it. I got it done by a gp with 5 years experience in Botox.

I thought it made my eyes look expressionless. Also one eyebrow dropped more than the other and it was both annoying and didn't look good.

Watermelon999 · 30/01/2024 07:00

How do you find somewhere good and reputable to get it done?

Can you get it done on the day, or do you need to have a consultation appointment first?

anyone recommend anywhere in Cheshire?

how do you know what to ask for?

Whatisaflatwhite · 30/01/2024 07:00

Obviously the Botox addicts are going to say its worth it 😀

todayshappening · 30/01/2024 10:25

@Touty I have it in my forehead and crows feet it makes you look more awake and fresher and youthful. Try find a doctor that does it and not someone who's done a weekend course. I go to a clinic in Cambridgeshire she's brilliant

Garlicnaan · 30/01/2024 10:27

I had baby Botox once and it was great.

Sadly can't afford it regularly

Not sure where you are but this is where I go.

Neverpostagain · 30/01/2024 10:34

Yes. I have it for 11s only and I can still raise my eyebrows etc, just can't frown. Now when I try to frown, I look pleasantly concerned instead absolutely furious.

HermioneWeasley · 30/01/2024 10:40

Yes. I just have my 11s done as my frowning had worn a permanent groove into my face and I looked angry all the time (to be fair I am often irritated). Just makes me look more relaxed.

Yes, obviously people who like something will say they like it. What's your point?

silverlentils · 30/01/2024 10:50

I've had it twice in the last year, for wrinkly chin first time, and second time was also for wrinkly chin and also to relax the frown muscles and stop 'resting frowning face'. It's quite subtle, I don't have forehead wrinkles anyway so that wasn't an issue. I can still raise my eyebrows but it subtly lifts /opens the face and has made my flat eyebrows more arched. I think it's great!
I am mid 50's. I am perfectly happy to get wrinkles, but if I can make subtle improvements I will.

CupOfCoffeeandaPineappleChunk · 30/01/2024 10:51

Makes a huge difference to removing 11s, opening eyes by lifting eyebrows slightly and getting rid of forehead lines or crows feet.
If its done we'll its fantastic. It makes you look regressed and rehabs and generality just a bit rejuvenated but without it being obvious why. I've also seen some done not so well, but researching who does it, their experience, training and qualifications, but mostly years in the industry and reputation is the key factor.
Be aware that just because someone is a doctor it doesn't mean they are any better at botox than the next person, unless they are a specialist aesthetic doctor or plastic surgeon who will be your best bet. Other than that choose based in experience and reputation, not Instagram posts.

pastypirate · 30/01/2024 13:20

I wasn't interested until I met a client who just looked incredibly well rested all the time. When I complimented her she raved about Botox. I honestly had no idea! I've been getting frozen lines and eye lines done for a while now and I'm very pleased. I chose a clinic I knew friends used and made sure it was doctors and not just beauticians. It's not cheap but I now pay £50ish a month for 3 monthly treatments which includes some facials.
I wish I'd started earlier as once you're forehead drops a bit they won't inject upper forehead to smooth it out as it risks pushing your eyebrows down and making you look worse. Imo a conservative prescriber is a good one.

It's also incredibly fast - my top ups take 10 minutes and it doesn't even fill a lunch hour. It's almost painless and between appointments is zero maintenance.

I love it
