Botox is it worth it?

Touty · 29/01/2024 23:36

Im 50 and all of a sudden I have wrinkles and lines which are really aging, I also look like I’m permanently scowling or growling with collapsed eye brows. Also hate my 11 lines.

I just want to look like a fresher version of my self. Anyone relate? Did Botox fix it for you?

Regressed and rehabs? Grin

Yes. I just have my 11s done as my frowning had worn a permanent groove into my face and I looked angry all the time (to be fair I am often irritated). Just makes me look more relaxed.

Exactly this. I have a perma-frown and apparently strong muscles there and have just started getting it done there. It doesn’t last very long on me but my doctor said after 2 years of doing it every 5-6 months it will last longer!

How much is everyone paying?

Annoyingly yes it's very good.

You can pay anything from 80-800
For me it's not about the price it's about the practicioner
You want someone good experienced and qualified

Bearpawk · 30/01/2024 22:09

Yes highly recommend
I have it 2-3x per year, a lighter touch so it's not 'frozen' looking
£200 for 2 areas
It's not a secret but nobody has noticed yet !

NewYear24 · 30/01/2024 22:30

I get it done twice a year and have done since I was 50, I’m almost 55 now. It works out about £10 per week. I see my dermatologist at a local private hospital.

InAMess2023 · 30/01/2024 22:31

Im 38 and started getting Botox just after the first lockdown lifted. Not going to lie im absolutely gutted that I waited so long! Best decision I have ever made!

123Valentina123 · 30/01/2024 22:40

I paid 500 to have it done by a celeb doctor in London last year and 300 a couple of weeks ago by a different but even more brilliant and highly qualified doctor. The latter was much much better in achieving a very natural look. Happy to recommend her if anyone need a C London practitioner.

Yes please, I’d like to know. Thank you.

InAMess2023 · 30/01/2024 22:44

@123Valentina123 I pay £140 for 3 areas in NE England and absolutely over the moon with my results 😬

aliceinanwonderland · 30/01/2024 22:46

Would Botox help lift "hooded" eyelids?

Contraversialcate · 30/01/2024 22:46

Pls can I have details!

itsgoingtobeabumpyride · 30/01/2024 22:47

100% worth it.
I've had:
Lips (smooths out the lines around my mouth).
Lumi eyes.
5 point facelift.
PDO threads
Nasolabial folds
Do your research first, there's a lot of unqualified people out there

Variable results but worth a go.
You need to be careful who you go to because if you get it in the wrong place it can make it worse.
I can recommend someone in London if you're interested

MonkeysandParrots · 30/01/2024 22:51

Can anyone recommend a rockstar practitioner in Bristol? I think it’s time to take the plunge …

Missingmyusername · 30/01/2024 22:55

I only know a handful of women who have had it done, they can’t seem to smile. It’s very obvious, they can’t move their faces- DH said its like they’ve had it injected in their forehead and it’s leaked down their face. I don’t know if that’s the point or it’s just bad Botox but I would avoid personally. How can you pay between £80-£800?! Just be careful where you go.

InAMess2023 · 30/01/2024 22:56

@Missingmyusername and if that's true then they've definitely all been to bad practitioners

You probably know plenty of women who've had it done, you just couldn't tell.

I eventually told my partner of many years that I use botox, I told my mother and my own adult kids - none of them had figured it out for themselves, even though I do tend to go too long between appointments so the 'before and after' is quite obvious to me. I can smile - I don't get my mouth botoxed!

I get forehead and crows feet done but there is still movement in both areas.

The difference in price is partly due to the practitioner but mostly due to the amount used. A woman in her 30s who needs a few ml in her 11s is going to pay a lot less than someone in her 50s getting several areas done.

Itsjustafly · 30/01/2024 23:14

Worth every penny. I had deep 11s and they're totally gone. I get those, forehead and crows feet. If it's done well, nobody will know you've had botox, it's just you but fresher. One of my colleagues was stunned when I said I couldn't make a late meeting because I was getting my botox, she had no idea.

I only get it done twice a year, I'm coming up for my appointment now and have some very slight frown lines. I'm in the North east and pay £120 and she sees me 2 weeks after the initial appointment in case any adjustments are needed (included in the price)

todayshappening · 30/01/2024 10:25

@Touty I have it in my forehead and crows feet it makes you look more awake and fresher and youthful. Try find a doctor that does it and not someone who's done a weekend course. I go to a clinic in Cambridgeshire she's brilliant

Who in Cambridgeshire please?

EdgarAllenRaven · 30/01/2024 23:35

Yes I’m not a Botox addict but twice a year get my 11s done only. I ask for it to be conservative, so no shiny forehead look and no one can tell!
Just look that bit fresher and more pleasant, less anxious. Can still move my face!
It lasts 6 months so doesn’t break the bank .

EdgarAllenRaven · 30/01/2024 23:39

£150 for the one area (North London)

Trust me, you know lots more people who have had it done. Those are the ones who have had it done badly.

Snoozymoozy · 31/01/2024 07:49

The only thing you'll regret is not having it done sooner! It makes such a difference.
I pay £145 for 2 areas in Yorkshire

WhenWereYouUnderMe · 31/01/2024 08:02

Yes! I get my forehead and crows feet done and I look fresher now at 44 than I did when I was in my mid 30s.
