I wonder if they realise they’ve lost a lot of the excitement, buzz and chatter that introduced others to their products? Sigh! It was a lovely treat but I’m not paying £60 annually for it.

OooScotland · 14/02/2024 16:17

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz I buy it direct from Pai because of the free returns for any reason. Their CS is generally very good as well. I use about six of their products plus boosters. I once bought some from John Lewis and got a faulty, half empty bottle, no returns, £50 wasted.

Camdenish · 14/02/2024 16:20

Yes they are fab and the guarantee is so good when you've been chucking ££ down the loo to help sensitive skin. Female owned company too which I like

I would really like some more of the Ren cleanser that I think I got in the JL advent 2022 but it doesnt seem to be available in the same format as that one so cant tell which it was. gah!

Which one was it, @omnishambles ? The one I use (Rosa cleansing gel) is available in pump and tube, which threw me, but it’s the same stuff inside.

It was in a short pump probably special sized. When I looked at the JL advent in question it wasnt there so god knows which box it was in but it was really good. Pissed at myself for not taking a photo of it.

I doubt they’re this organised but I wonder if they calculated a lot of people would use their credit which would then be realised spend or profit as they approach the end of the financial year.

That’s what occurred to me. A lot ay to spur spending in order to be technically solvent by year end.

Might have been the Ren cleanser that came in one of the beauty drop boxes last year? That was a small size and pump action. If I can remember what it was I’ll tell you!

Yes thats perfectly possible! Thanks!

deepsea9 · 14/02/2024 18:42

I've just finished that Ren Cleanser today - it's Gentle Cleansing Milk if so. I had a trial size tube of it as well from something or other.

omnishambles · 14/02/2024 18:48

Ordered! No messing about.

I don't think we would. But who knows what the rule will be on a particular day?

D20 · 14/02/2024 19:09

The gentle cleansing milk is thicker than a milk if that’s the one you are thinking of @omnishambles I don’t think it matches its name.

Im glad I’d already cancelled but I’m looking forward to seeing if the next box is a good one before restarting. I’m on the fence like a PP said. £15 for a good box isn’t bad but at that price point it risks people being easily disappointed. I’m a bit miffed Liberty think beauty drop customers would think that was a good deal. I’d stopped Latest in Beauty which was a similar price because I was no longer getting a good deal.

Before the drop I never shopped at Liberty as I’m nowhere near London but have spent around £600.

OooScotland · 14/02/2024 19:31

@D20 Me too. Never shopped at Liberty for beauty before (I live in Scotland and have visited the store once, with my husband, and so didn’t browse the beauty hall😢)

Because of the free shipping I’ve spent about £300 (mostly on Suqqu brow pens!) since starting beauty drop 7 months ago, on top of my BD payments.

From a marketing standpoint I still think they were nuts for starting a beauty box scheme with ‘free’ boxes, even though its only 4 a year.

Countmeout · 14/02/2024 19:44

I think it’s this one. Apparently the pump is discontinued @omnishambles
I liked it a lot. Didn’t cause me spots.

I get the boxes (thinking of cancelling now) but haven't had an email about kit and can't see anything on website. Am I missing something?

I don't get these emails about a kit either. Presume this is just for members as that kit doesn't come up in a normal search on their site.

Countmeout · 14/02/2024 20:00

It’s on general release tomorrow @Pootle40 i think.

OooScotland · 14/02/2024 20:27

These ‘kits’ are a new thing for me, can’t say I’m impressed. The Valentine one had a sex oil in it. Lets just say that’s not for me.

And now the Mothers Day one is AB cleanser, foot cream and a candle, none of which I consider treats.

I like the surprise element of the beauty boxes even if I don’t like the stuff in the end, but I’m not spending hundreds on the mish mash of strange products that these kits mostly seem to contain. And I need another washbag like I need a hole in my head.

Ignore me, I’m just shocked and more than a bit miffed having found out that LbTy perfumes are £225, I really want the Wild Rosinda one after the last box but there’s no way I can justify that much money for only 50ml atm!

It’s £225 for 100ml, which is still a crazy price point. I hate it when brands inflate their prices just to give a false sense of luxury and exclusivity. But having said that, if they sold 50ml bottles for circa £120, that wouldn’t seem so expensive to me. I have too much perfume to ever want a 100ml bottle of anything!

They do sell a tiny 8ml bottle for £45, which works out at £5.63 per millilitre. Have a word with yourselves, Liberty!

forcedfun · 15/02/2024 09:37

I've decided not to cancel my subscription.

I like the quarterly suprise and there don't seem to be many good subscription boxes around at the moment. I am often housebound (although thankfully able to work) so I can't get out to the shops and subscription boxes are a nice way to discover new products. And free delivery helps when I do nearly all my shopping online.

I will be interested to see what the next box is like though, I think people will be a bit more unforgiving if the boxes are disappointing. I have spent my built up credit though as there was some jewellery I wanted.

And I would really love to see them doing some kits with something other than a wash bag.

medicalmysterymachine · 15/02/2024 09:41

For those of us who have cancelled, does the free delivery last until the date our next payment would have been taken?

Ducksinthebath · 15/02/2024 10:22

My Subscription was due to end at the very specific time of 8.06am this morning which I assumed was so that my next payment could be taken. However I see it hasn’t been. I wonder if all the angry responses mean they eventually thought better of doing it.

The whole thing is just very shoddy.
