I cancelled yesterday and it showed as cancelled on my account, logged in today and it says subscribed. What gives?

click on manage subscription.. then there's another thing to click on then you should see cancellation date on next screen

i've actually uncancelled for now as I am due £10 loyalty voucher and have £20 on account so may as well let them take last payment and buy something decent without paying postage ..

RedPandaFluff · 14/02/2024 10:29

I received an identical email, @ElleWoods15 - here's hoping they don't mess up! I'll be keeping an eye . . .

MidnightMeltdown · 14/02/2024 10:37

Mine says it will cancel from 15th Feb and my next payment was due on 16th, so they are actually cancelling it BEFORE the payment. It may depend on whether or not you made any payments before receiving your first box

I had built up £180 credit 😱. However £160 of this is in the form of a Liberty gift card as I bought and then returned something in the sale. I spent £60 on a lipstick and a concealer (which I actually needed) before cancelling. Will have to think about what to spend the £140 voucher on, but it's valid until Jan 2026.

MidnightMeltdown · 14/02/2024 10:41

Actually, it was £200 credit that I had! I didn't even realise that it had built up so much!

Pinenu · 14/02/2024 11:02

No interest in the new kit, sadly. I have AB coming out of my ears and that foot cream was given as a freebie by space NK after an item arrived damaged.

I’m sure I’ll find something to spend my credit on though.

RJnomore1 · 14/02/2024 11:13

I’ve got £60 credit plus £30 loyalty voucher. Thinking of getting the full size Boemia perfume from the box before last. I should get student discount too… then cancelling. I’d rather stick £20 in a saving account too and buy from anywhere than get locked in for nothing really.

edit : autocorrect of perfume name

RJnomore1 · 14/02/2024 11:14

Oh ffs cancel that… it was in stock yesterday and now it’s not.

yes, definitely cancelling!

@TragicMuse I eked that miniature out as if it was made of melted gold - I was quite upset to finish it, thought I'd buy myself some and nearly fainted when I saw the price - I mean honestly I'd say I'm on the extravagant side but not £650 for 100ml extravagant Grin

You could check Vinted for another sample size as a lot of people sell their beauty drop stuff on there.

Just checked and there are a couple for £5 plus postage

deepsea9 · 14/02/2024 12:38

I've gone for the kit as I'll use pretty much everything in it and had some credit.

I also finished up 3 products this morning and replaced from my stash, so I feel I have made some space!

Prawncow · 14/02/2024 13:05

I’ve cancelled thanks to this thread. I was busy when I saw the email and only scanned it. I clocked the £5 increase but not that it was a charge - I thought it was just an increase in the subscription amount.

Twinsandsome · 14/02/2024 13:06

My skin has been so dry and every time I wear make up Cakey. I use medik8.

im thinking of maybe buying a dr Barbara strum cream to use my remaining credit. Anyone any recommendations between the cream, the rich cream or super anti aging cream? So little reviews on liberty.

or is there anything you would recommend instead I love medik8 but would love nice nourishing cream as a treat. Failing that I’ll buy p50 lotion or is there anymore of their products you would recommend as it was this tread that recommended it and I love it but put off b it saying not to use with vitamin a and I’ve been trying to get into my retional at the minute xx

ah yes thanks @listsandbudgets March 4th.

omnishambles · 14/02/2024 13:29

I would really like some more of the Ren cleanser that I think I got in the JL advent 2022 but it doesnt seem to be available in the same format as that one so cant tell which it was. gah!

Pigtailsandall · 14/02/2024 13:59

I love the washbag and the perfume and candle sound like I'd like them. Always use cleansers but I'm not keen on the foot and bath stuff. I just did a £85 order last night, otherwise I might have bought it. Odd timing for a kit - surely they knew people would rush to cancel and use their vouchers? Would have made sense to launch the kit first

MidnightMeltdown · 14/02/2024 15:05

Ah see I like the sound of Neom bath foam but I don't want yet another candle (already have a huge stash) and I don't rate that AB cleanser.

I also think that £130 is too much - particularly given that I'm supposed to be on a beauty buying ban! Will probably pass, although I do have enough credit for it.

EuniceLopril · 14/02/2024 15:10

So 24 hours later and after giving it a lot of thought, for me Liberty shot themselves in the foot here.
As a BD subscriber I was buying most of my beauty stuff from them. I was becoming increasingly frustrated by how much is out of stock though. This was my major gripe. Yesterday was a case in point, of the several items in my Wish List most were out of stock. I did manage to spend all of my BD credit but it was a struggle.

The way this has been handled along with the dire website, the ongoing stock level issues and their inability to send me promotional emails (no birthday voucher for me!) has left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't see myself shopping online with them again. Probably would pop in to the store during a trip to London but I visit London around once a decade!

I hope that my cancellation has gone through okay and that I won't be charged again.

Cyclingmummy1 · 14/02/2024 15:15

I will buy if it goes down to £100 next month as I'll have enough credit and vouchers to buy then can cancel.

periodiclabel · 14/02/2024 15:18

Apologies if it’s been already explained and I’ve missed it but how do I stop them taking the next payment from my credit card. I’ve cancelled my subscription but they’re still going to take money on the 29th of February. I object!! Report

Camdenish · 14/02/2024 15:29

@periodiclabel I emailed Libertys last night and told them I didn’t authorise them to take any more payments. That I could do
this because I’m out of my first 3 months of subscription and my next payment is two weeks away. I’m received an email just now from Liberty saying they’ve moved the end of my subscription forward to the day before the money is due to leave my account.

I spent my £20(plus £4) on Malin and Goetz perfume samples last night. I was concerned that all the low value items would go out of stock and that’s all I can afford! I was threaded there last week so not due a Blink visit for 6 weeks and I can’t afford to lose £20. I’m looking forward to receive ng my perfumes anyway as I tried them all on last week in Liberty but couldn’t decide.

OooScotland · 14/02/2024 15:46

I bought a Lisa Eldridge lipstick last night. I wanted to hold off and do a bigger shop later in the summer but as its just come back in to stock after about three months I thought I’d better do it now, at least I got free postage on £27 due to BD. Having thought about it overnight I personally have no gripe with BD charging for the boxes (no shade to anyone who does) but I’m so tired of everything on my wishlist always being out of stock and the lack of range is shocking. If they stocked Kanebo Sensai and Chanel I’d be stoked.

EuniceLopril · 14/02/2024 15:52

For the people who have contacted Liberty about their cancellation and received an actual reply, what email did you use for them?

periodiclabel · 14/02/2024 15:57

Thanks @Camdenish I’ve emailed them. [email protected]

OooScotland · 14/02/2024 16:01

@Twinsandsome I gave up on medik8 because of the silicone. Huge problems with pilling in general and cakeyness under makeup. Now I’m happy with Pai retinal booster (as a serum) and Bonne Nuit night cream which has no silicones and so rich that I can’t use it every night at 54 years of age. I like that its made in London, is organic and comes in lovely packaging. Not cheap though (Bonne Nuit is £64 for 50ml) and to be avoided if you don’t want / can’t use essential oils.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 14/02/2024 16:02

If only liberty stocked Pai Smile
