For those of us who have cancelled, does the free delivery last until the date our next payment would have been taken?

I have just got free delivery but mine says that it wont be cancelled until the 4th March. I realise this is not a very helpful post.

Oohoohpickme · 15/02/2024 10:32

For those thinking of holding on for the next box, they have just told me by email:

“should you still wish to receive your April beauty drop box It is recommended that you should keep your subscription active until at least the 31st March. “

omnishambles · 15/02/2024 10:33

It is a weird thing that they have effectively have got free indepth customer feedback from the group I presume they quite want it from in here in real time.
They can also marry up our account with our usernames which isnt great but there we are.

I find the while thing just so shoddy and embarrassingly disorganised for a luxury brand. I also wonder who their target market for these boxes are now? The very wealthy won't care about "banking" credit or getting random samples; they'll just go out and buy what they want when they want/need. I always thought it was specifically designed for middle class shoppers with a bit of splurge money who want to trial something before buying it.

Ah, that’s helpful, I might just do that, partly because I don’t trust them to deal with the avalanche of cancellations they have on their plate presently and partly as a final pressie to myself.

Then I will cancel.

Ametora · 15/02/2024 11:08

Dear Ametora,

We'd love to hear what you think of our customer service.

Please take a moment to answer one question by clicking either link below:

How would you rate the support you received?
Good I am satisfied
Bad I am unsatisfied

Best regards,

What?!! How can they do that? Confused -> panics <

D20 · 15/02/2024 12:21

I highly doubt it @tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz. They can’t even get people on the correct email list!

Only that I have told them when I cancelled and they know what I just bought! It wouldnt take Sherlock Holmes - of course it would be a misuse of personal data but ho hum.

GinandGingerBeer · 15/02/2024 12:45

If I go into store, in February (if that makes a difference, I'm so confused re these fantastic new benefits we have.....
not!)
Will they accept BD credit in any department (I know they have always accepted it on line but just checking!)
I want to spend it on jewellery but would rather look round in person.

OooScotland · 15/02/2024 14:09

Just thinking aloud here, really…
Having got over my initial disappointment at yet another seemingly spurious price hike, Liberty are a small and sometimes quite inept company in the scheme of things - Beauty Drop membership has clearly got too big to handle and we’re not splurging as much as they needed us to to keep it going.

They are clearly better off pleasing just the very wealthy customers, many of whom won’t be in the UK, so we’re probably talking about spends bigger than I can even imagine in some cases. I don’t think I’m an unusual member of this, having gone from not shopping at Liberty at all to spending about £300 plus BD payments in what, two years? That’s nothing, even at scale.

Beauty Drop’s days are clearly numbered even if they get it down to a much more manageable operation but unspent credits should surely be safe, its just a gift voucher, which they’ll still continue to sell and honour unless the store goes under or perhaps is being sold. I think the former is unlikely and the latter, well, maybe…

Yea, they could have handled it a lot better but (unpopular opinion coming up) offering specially designed and packaged free beauty boxes - and they were not just full of sachet samples you could have got by walking into any store - with free shipping and extra free shipping in return for simply buying a £20 voucher that you also got to keep 100% of each month - was always going to be unsustainable once it caught on and the free/cheap products stopped pouring in from the brands.

Come to think of it, as a form of advertising supplying all the various beauty boxes and advent calendars surely cannot be cost effective for brands or store, especially now the novelty has worn off the concept for most customers.

They have always accepted it in person in any department (not sure about pet grooming or eye brow bar)

Summerdew · 15/02/2024 16:00

I’ve had a bit of back and forth with customer services, to paraphrase they want to keep the beauty drop sustainable from a business standpoint in a rising cost environment. I gave quite a lot of feedback on the price increase which they thanked me for and said they had passed on, if nothing else I feel I’ve been able to give my point of view.

periodiclabel · 15/02/2024 16:49

There is PET GROOMING at Liberty. I'm in!!

If not you can just order the item you like online anyway, having seen it in store first?

Do they have the full range online though? Website seems a bit sparse in general and its so many years since I’ve been in the store I can’t remember what its like ☹️ last order I got came from a warehouse in Redditch so looks like they’re not using shop floor stock for orders?

RJnomore1 · 15/02/2024 17:06

I’m wobbling here. I think I’ll hold off and cancel once I see how the April box is, I’d happily have paid £15 for the box with boemia in it but the last one was rubbish. If it’s only going to cost me one more payment to get the April one I can see how it’s looking. And keep hoping boemia comes back in stock too.

Sorry can’t help there - I’m another in Scotland who wouldn’t be buying from there at all apart from the drop.

CornishPorsche · 15/02/2024 17:09

@GinandGingerBeer I couldn't get them to accept my BD at the Maria Tash counter because the staff didn't know how to do it so I just paid up and used the BD for something else online.

I go about once a year at most, and normally only look at things. Since joining BD, they probably get £500 a year from me.

I'd love to know the figures on this - how many BD members, how many they lost this week, actual cost to run the club from all perspectives - samples, boxes, shipping, associated discounts etc. It's probably people like me they want shot of as I'm a low spender by their standards, but I'm also £500 they didn't have before I joined the BD...

No, online stock is dire. These threads are full of posters struggling to spend their BD credit because of things being OOS, which are readily available in store.

A wave from Aberdeenshire then!

Funny, I really hated Boemia but wish I could easily afford Wild Rosinda. I could buy it but there would be resentment that I’d paid £225 for a perfume when that would get me a comparative shedload of Chanel makeup or twice as much of my favourite Floris scent.

Luckily I like Monotheme Tuberose almost as much for everyday, and for £20 I can put up with the initial alcohol blast!

So would I. Not because I’m puzzled (I think its clear where this scheme went wrong) or annoyed or anything, I just think the nitty gritty would be really, really interesting. I’d love to work in the offices of somewhere like Liberty, but life decided to make me a Highland farmer instead 🥲

Me 3 - but because I'm a weird finance person who loves getting to know the numbers side of most businesses

I’m super interested in the details too, my dull day job is promotional strategy and the impact on the P&L so this is right up my street.
