I couldn’t see a thread for the JL calendar and know a few of us have gone for it so thought I would start one. 😃

My most used products so far are the good genes and the AA bath oil. Both things I've used before. I probably need to get more adventurous with the new stuff!

Roundaboot · 20/12/2023 19:06

Agreed the Votary serum is lovely, I'm really enjoying using that and the lip balm too.
I've given up on the Portrait of Lady perfume though and concluded that it's not for me so it'll be on the swap thread/Vinted in the New Year.

pinkchampagne1 · 20/12/2023 19:08

Oh yes I forgot about the Sunday Riley GG, that was another favourite. Also love the bath oil but so does my DH so I have to share it!

Love the eye crayon, used it today and it looked good (I think)
Favourites so far. Portrait of a lady perfume. Aqua de Palma. Votary serum and the line wrinkle thing.
Only 5 more days left :(

SaltyFulmar · 20/12/2023 21:14

Not a John Lewis advent person, I’m Space NK. Would anyone be up for swapping their bath oil for some make up from mine?

I’ll swap a Charlotte Tilbury eye pallete, Rare beauty eyeliner and the lip gloss we got (3 items) for the bath oil! I don’t really wear make up but I do love a bath!

I'm really loving the Votary serum so far. I didn't have high hopes as it looked a bit 'all natural ingredients' and smells bizarre, but my skin feels so soft after using it.

Me, too. Think it's quite nice, actually :)

pinkchampagne1 · 21/12/2023 08:02

Disappointing day today. I don’t really use blusher but even if I did, this is tiny and such a light colour that it looks more like face powder!
I think they would have done better to have given us the candle and sleep spray on day 2 and have put this with the hand cream maybe, then it wouldn’t have been such a DOD! 😏

I’ve just switched to cream blusher so this will be given away.

Floralovesflowers · 21/12/2023 08:14

It the world's tiniest blusher! Tend to wear a bronzer rather than blusher so will hand on.

Yesterday however, I loved and will be wearing a lot I think. I nearly bought it at the weekend so great timing

pinkchampagne1 · 21/12/2023 08:21

I tried out the eye crayon yesterday for a family meal out. I was wearing a bronze coloured top so it matched perfectly.

This is very tiny. I had a similar sized box of Nars blusher in something last year and the actual product inside was 50% bigger. I'm not sure about the colour either (as I tend to wear Nars Orgasm) but I will probably put it in my travel make up bag.

Roundaboot · 21/12/2023 09:22

I'd been looking forward to this as I need a new blusher but it is very tiny and very pale! I'll give it a try later though

Livelifelaughter · 21/12/2023 16:04

I had to be a sample size ? Bit silly really. How is that colour a blusher?

pinkchampagne1 · 21/12/2023 16:06

It is so light that it just looks like a small face powder rather than a blusher.

OP posts:
Livelifelaughter · 21/12/2023 16:22

I thought it was some mini highlighter...tbh.

Roundaboot · 21/12/2023 18:51

I've tried both the eyeshadow stick and blusher now and like both. The blusher is actually quite buildable despite being light so it does actually show up!

pinkchampagne1 · 21/12/2023 20:08

Oh that’s good to know that the blusher actually shows up!

This glow mask looks interesting and something we haven’t seen in a JL advent before

Just done a little research on this product. It is £60 on the JL site. You apparently apply to face and neck (avoiding eyes) and leave on for 15 minutes before washing off.

Going to try the mask now, will report back. I love masks like this & a good size pot too.

pinkchampagne1 · 22/12/2023 15:59

How did you find the mask? I am going to try it this evening before I go out

OP posts:
Chickydoo · 22/12/2023 18:23

It was lovely, a little tingly at first, skin felt lovely afterwards xx

Chickydoo · 23/12/2023 07:50

Not too bothered about today's. I don't really use a separate eye cream. I probably should, so will give it a whirl.

Floralovesflowers · 23/12/2023 07:53

Went out last night wearing the clarins perfume, nars blush (initially underwhelmed with this but fab colour for me) & the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow all preceded by using the last of lasts years Evolve face mask.

Was very happy with yesterday's glow mask.

I'll be using today's eye gel to counteract the effects of my night out!

pinkchampagne1 · 23/12/2023 10:18

Another pricy product today. This little eye cream is £59 on the JL site!
