I couldn’t see a thread for the JL calendar and know a few of us have gone for it so thought I would start one. 😃

Like the Ren today and loved the wrinkle pen thing yesterday
Have used both already.
The pen has a week to work... crossing fingers.

Can I stick my nose round the door and ask how much the JL calendar was please?

Very late to the advent party but enjoying M&S atm. Having read this thread I'm a tad envious.

£195 full price, I think but then came down to £175.50 in the Black Friday sale.

I'm enjoying it so far but having had it last year as well, some of the things feel a bit samey so I may look for something different next year

pinkchampagne1 · 18/12/2023 16:00

It was £195 but I had a £25 off code in my rewards so got it for £170. They reduced it to £175 around Black Friday. I think it is pretty good value for what I paid but probably wouldn’t have bought it for £195

Thank you. That's significantly more than good old M&S, but from what I've seen on this thread it is reflected in the contents.

pinkchampagne1 · 18/12/2023 16:45

I think the contents are meant to be worth over £900.
I used to have the Boots No7 advent but upgraded to John Lewis 3 years ago and haven’t looked back!

Can someone tell me if the only moisturiser is The Ordinary one, I loved the Dermalogica, Sunday Riley and Augustus Bader last year...

Defiantlynot41 · 18/12/2023 17:24

Is anyone keeping score on the total value? I liked todays, have had the Evercalm moisturiser before. And I opened the hand cream from early on , its brilliant and smells lovely, not greasy

pinkchampagne1 · 18/12/2023 17:34

The Ordinary product is the only moisturiser we have had. We were spoilt last year with 3 high end ones

I agree with @Roundaboot, the calendar feels similar to last year with some repeats-several of which are for me a bit 'meh'

Todays face wash isn't a wow product, but it's nice and will get used and I've cracked open the wrinkle filler too.

I used the lumene face wash yesterday and so far so good-my skin felt so lovely afterwards.

Livelifelaughter · 18/12/2023 19:31

Thank you!

Refurbishmentino · 19/12/2023 07:39

Today’s Clarins perfume is nice. Not a ‘wow’ fragrance for me, but a nice daytime fragrance and I will use it.

£40 on JL website

Chickydoo · 19/12/2023 08:02

Love today's perfume, it's very summery though. Will keep for later in the year.

pinkchampagne1 · 19/12/2023 09:37

I am loving today’s perfume too. Not one we have had before in the JL advent and it smells lovely.

OP posts:
Roundaboot · 19/12/2023 09:52

Same here! I wasn't sure initially if it was perfume or body oil as the description seems to say there are some skin care benefits but it seems to be more like a perfume so I've splashed a bit on and it's really nice, very fresh. I agree it's very summery so I might also pop it away for later.

pinkchampagne1 · 20/12/2023 08:34

Bobbi Brown eyeshadow crayon today. Not massively exciting but a nice colour

I can’t believe we are on day 20 already!

mynameiscalypso · 20/12/2023 09:54

I can't believe it's 20 either! I'm not sure I'm feeling very festive...

I'm pleased with today's offering. I agree that it's not very exciting but it's a convenient thing to have in my make up bag.

Livelifelaughter · 20/12/2023 09:58

Last year there was a gold coloured face mask in a dark glass pot, does anyone know what brand it is? I love it and would like to get some more. There aren't any face masks so far unless I am missing something?

Roundaboot · 20/12/2023 10:05

@Livelifelaughter It was Evolve, It's also available in H&B and currently in their 3 for 2 (in case you needed any enabling!)

I'm quite glad we've had no face masks to be honest. I did really like that gold one last year and used it up fairly quickly but I have a few more on the go that I need to use. It's not something I do all that often.

Today's eye crayon is nice! It's more shimmery than I was expecting, and usually use but it might be good for evenings. Very wearable colour for me.

pinkchampagne1 · 20/12/2023 10:06

Oh yes, was in in a black pot? Smelt lovely

pinkchampagne1 · 20/12/2023 10:07

No exfoliating products this year either. Think we got two last year, one being the Kate Somerville

OP posts:
Livelifelaughter · 20/12/2023 15:57

@Roundaboot thank you so much. I think it's great !
I also like the shimmer eye pencil easy glam

Livelifelaughter · 20/12/2023 15:59

Yes, great stuff. I didn't read the label of the hair scrub last year and used it as a face scrub for a few weeks!

PinkArt · 20/12/2023 17:42

I'm really loving the Votary serum so far. I didn't have high hopes as it looked a bit 'all natural ingredients' and smells bizarre, but my skin feels so soft after using it.

pinkchampagne1 · 20/12/2023 18:22

My favourite things so far have been the portrait of a lady perfume, the Votary serum, the Neom candle and the Clarins fragrance.
