I couldn’t see a thread for the JL calendar and know a few of us have gone for it so thought I would start one. 😃

No objection to today's but it was always going to be a bit of a letdown after yesterday. My four year old opened the box for me and gave it to me saying 'I suppose it's okay'.

I agree with your 4 year old! It's fine but not very exciting. It also doesn't seem to pick up as much product as my old blusher brush but it is nice and soft so will be good for blending.

pinkchampagne1 · 03/12/2023 12:47

Hopefully tomorrow will make up for it 🤞

The app offer is quite good today - I have an item in my basket that's a present for my SIL which should be included in the 20% discount (own brand hats, gloves and scarves).

DragonFly98 · 03/12/2023 23:40

I like the colour of the brush, nice and bright.

Roundaboot · 04/12/2023 07:19

Ooh, this is more like it! Votary Super Seeds Serum looks perfect for my skin especially at this time of year as it could do with a bit of soothing.
I have a serum on the go at the moment so I really should put this away for now but fuck it, I'm going to start using it today 😁

pinkchampagne1 · 04/12/2023 07:24

Wow, this serum is worth £75!

Sorry, it is £79 not £75!

Watch the app offers, I just went to use Saturdays 20% of bedding to find it was one day only!

How daft. I was going to do a massive order with all my codes collectively but now can't. What a way to lose sales JL 🤦🏼‍♀️

Chickydoo · 04/12/2023 07:45

Perfect! So pleased with the votary serum. This was one of the main reasons I chose JL above other calendars. Happy day Grin

HumourReplacementTherapy · 04/12/2023 09:43

Anyone tried it yet? I'm not always a votary fan due to their vegetable smell! I just had a quick leak but haven't tried it yet.

mynameiscalypso · 04/12/2023 09:48

I think I've had this before - maybe in a Liberty calendar in the last couple of years? I remember liking it (and it's not knocking around anywhere in my bathroom) and I think I didn't re-buy because of cost so pretty pleased to have another.

It is a bit vegetable-y though although doesn't last long,

Roundaboot · 04/12/2023 09:53

I tried it this morning. The smell is quite neutral, with hints of vegetable. I don't find it unpleasant and it didn't last long. I used 2 pumps but I think one would have been plenty. It feels lovely on the skin - not at all stingy or irritating to my sensitive skin and sinks in quickly.

WhompingWillows · 04/12/2023 10:53

Running total of £198 over four days.

This is where TenaLady comes in handy. It’s the excitement. 😂

Evening 👋🏻 Can I join you please... my first year having a JL calendar, I normally have M&S but thought I'd push the boat out and I'm now spoilt! I'm not going too be able to go back ...Really happy so far and the serum today is just gorgeous on my super sensitive skin. Love the lip balm case but the colour is not for me, just too white / pale / not flattering at all. might have to bite the bullet and buy a colour that suits

pinkchampagne1 · 05/12/2023 07:21

of course you can join us, Ingles2. Glad you are enjoying your JL calendar. I used to get the No7 advent but this is the 3rd year I have had the John Lewis and there is definitely no going back now! 😁

Very pleased with the perfume today. It is a very pricy fragrance. This little 10ml bottle retails at £60! 😮

Not sure about this perfume! At first squirt, it is quite heavy and overpowering. I need to try it on my skin in a day when I'm WFH but I think this might be the first one for the swap pile

pinkchampagne1 · 05/12/2023 07:36

I think you only need a little as it is a strong scent and apparently lasts a long time. Sure you could sell it on Vinted as it is a very expensive perfume

OP posts:
pinkchampagne1 · 05/12/2023 07:39

I have just looked on Vinted and there are already 3 of the 10ml bottles of this perfume listed for around the £50 mark!

Morning... I LOVE this perfume.. I was hoping for a new scent as everything had run out and this is delicious! and strong!. Fragrances last no time on me, so feeling hopeful about this one

Chickydoo · 05/12/2023 07:52

I love Portrait of a lady.
I usually go for light citrus scents, however at this time of year, something warmer works well.
I have loved everything so far in the calendar, really pleased

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 05/12/2023 09:12

This is a new scent for me. I wasn’t keen last night when I sprayed it on my arm just before bed but it’s gorgeous this morning.

tuvamoodyson · 05/12/2023 10:05

Love this perfume! I might treat myself to a bottle…..

Roundaboot · 05/12/2023 12:05

I'll persevere with the perfume then. Maybe it's one that needs to be sprayed on skin?
I don't really mind if it's not for me though, as long as I can sell or swap it. Last year, I sold a few bits on Vinted and swapped here too so I wasn't left with anything that I didn't want. All part of the fun and you'll never please everyone, especially with perfume and make up.

Ingles2 · 06/12/2023 06:54

what a fabulous palette! Sadly It really isn't for me with my mid 50's hooded eyelids 😆.. any suggestions of how to sell on please? never done this kind of thing before
