Yes @Serenster it really looks as if each earring is one section of the brooch. I imagine it was made that way, or maybe Kate has discovered a creative bent and has had some pieces reworked!

Interesting. They are large, it could be linked? It's nice to see Camilla, Kate, Anne and (I'm assuming) Sophie wearing QEII's jewellery.

Kate looked stunning last night, wow.
I think she looks tired today but who can blame her after a 'big night out'!
Kate and Cams both look elegant today.
Not so keen on Sophie's black velvet dress, think it's the sleeves. Velvet is a gorgeous fabric though.

I hadn't spotted the earrings but not sure I like them. They look like the sort of earrings women in American daytime soaps used to wear - they'd have to take one off if they were answering the phone!

Sophie was wearing the same coat she wore to QEII’s funeral, embroidered with lilies of the valley. It’s lovely. I’m not a massive fan of the boater hat with it, though.

That coat is absolutely gorgeous. Agree on the hat. Although it's a lot better than the ludicrously oversized mad hatter style she wears more often than she should.

I've just seen that Sophie's hat costs almost £1000! That's a lot for a boater!!

I threw all mine away 7 years ago when we downsized. They're going for silly money now.
Kate wore a pair of mine quite recently the media called them vintage 😂

I prefer the hat Kate wore the last time she donned this coat but then I love a small hat with a face veil - it's very chic.

Yes the veil really works on Kate. But I do like it that she mixed it up. I would have been grumpy had she worn the exact same ensemble.

Kate’s had the hat she wore today for nearly 20 years! She wore it to William’s Sandhurst passing out parade in 2006.

I would LOVE to see the hat storage systems the royals have. It must take a huge amount of space. I'm imagining a huge room filled with hat boxes with photos on the front of them but maybe its fancier and computerised like Cher's wardrobe in Clueless

I wish Kate had worn a slightly darker lipstick today. She either had no lipstick on, or something very pale, and I thought she looked washed out.

I can see that the detail on Sophie's coat is lovely in an objective way, but it's just much too fussy for me.

Looking at William's uniform today I wondered whether he was trading the inconvenience of spurs for the warmth of that massive coat!

Apparently Princess Anne's dress last night was one she wore in 1999!

Most of the armed forces still have the EiiR cypher. It’s a combination of it takes ages to change them and they are waiting until stuff wears out

I also think Kate looks tired and pale today. I think this is partly because black just isn’t a good colour on her. Although obviously it’s inevitable and unavoidable on Remembrance Sunday.

Her styling is usually very severe on Remembrance Sunday and it can make her look a bit hard.

My Mum had lots of costume jewellery "big" earrings back in the day- both clip on and for pierced ears.
They destroyed her ear lobes, pulled them down. She's sorry she every wore them.
She got rid of them. 😀
