New thread, thanks for the brilliant title suggestion, as ever!

Having parents at home every day when you finish school is an unattainable luxury for most. We as grandparents step in often.

The royal grandchildren don't have that fall back

Maireas · 11/11/2023 14:10

No, I agree @justasking111 - my point was parents being abroad together. For some it's unavoidable. I'm suggesting that maybe Sophie and Edward plan it so that only one of them is abroad at any one time, although I think they have done joint overseas visits.
I doubt very much that they're both there at the beginning and end of every school day, like most parents.

I've worn long evening gloves once back in the early eighties. I wore a black strapless full length boned gown with them. There's not a single photo of the event. I was a size 6, 25 years old, probably peaked glamour wise. I gave the dress away years later to a friend of my sons. The gloves weren't terribly practical.

Yes, but you'd probably still want a parent at home before and after school, even if you're in yr11.

I disagree.

Fine. I think I tried to clarify above. I meant overnight ie going abroad. Anyway.

Anyway. More on the Borbons visit to Denmark. I'm not too keen on Leti's large pink coat, but I do like the very elegant crepe dress.

Leti definitely has feet of steel looking at the nude heels she is wearing

Maireas · 11/11/2023 18:59

She does, @LadyEloise1 ! I feel pain just looking at her footwear sometimes!

That's lovely @Maireas I wonder if pearls will be appreciated again

Kate looking lovely this evening. Wearing the late Queen's pearl necklace. Her hair looks so good.

Gosh, she looks great this evening. I love the pearls.

themessygarden · 11/11/2023 21:58

Kate looks beautiful, I really like the cut of that dress.

Sophie also looking gorgeous.

themessygarden · 11/11/2023 22:02

This photo shows the shape of the dress, I love the full skirt and the waistline.

Yes, that's really elegant.

Perfect dress on Sophie too.

MotherofPearl · 11/11/2023 22:29

I love Kate's dress, but I don't think that high neck or ruched waist do Sophie any favours. With velvet I think elegant simplicity is best.

ChicoryDip · 11/11/2023 22:58

That's a great dress on Kate and I love the pearls. Sophie's is ok, the sleeves are nice but a lower neckline suits her better. Good on her though, I'm sure after a week of engagements in Canada she'd have rather enjoyed relaxing in her jammies with a glass of wine watching Strictly.

Anyone placing bets on Kate's outfit for tomorrow? Buttons, epaulettes, fringing...

KillingMeDeftly · 11/11/2023 22:59

Sophie's dress looks a bit like she might detach the sleeves to go partying later!

Serenster · 12/11/2023 09:06

Really pleased to see both Anne and Kate wearing some of QEII’s impressive collection of pearl necklaces last night, they both looked lovely in them.

I don’t mind Kate’s very military styled jackets for Remembrance Sunday. I also don’t mind the odd one on Fergie, though she does rather do them to death!

KillingMeDeftly · 12/11/2023 09:24

Fergie always looks like she's about to conduct a marching band!

KillingMeDeftly · 12/11/2023 11:05

Kate and Camilla today. I think both coats are repeats (if Camilla's isn't then it's v similar to others she has) but possibly new hats?

Houseplanter · 12/11/2023 11:07

Charles and William both appear to have the ER cypher on their epaulettes. Seems a bit odd.

ChicoryDip · 12/11/2023 11:08

Both ladies look very elegant. I like Kate in the wider brimmed hat. I think it might be this one from 2017 but not sure.

KillingMeDeftly · 12/11/2023 11:11

Ah yes, that does look to be the same hat.

Serenster · 12/11/2023 11:40

I like Kate’s coat and hat, but am intrigued by her large earrings. They seem to be related to this brooch that QEII wore once in the 1990s and which Kate has also worn a couple of times before. So maybe they are all a set? Or the big brooch could have been broken up?
