New thread, thanks for the brilliant title suggestion, as ever!

Late to the party here, but thank you for the new thread!

StartupRepair · 09/11/2023 05:29

Oh...just read that with her lovely sparkly skirt Mary had a necklace with the letter F on it.

CliffsofMohair · 09/11/2023 05:45

Mary usually wears jewellery with F on a chain and bracelet with C, I, J, V. I think it’s just being emphasised this week…

themessygarden · 09/11/2023 05:50

Love that tweed skirt on Mary., or is it a dress ?

Gosh, those events look so boring, you have to hand it to them for getting through them with a smile and interest on their face.

chesterelly1 · 09/11/2023 07:33

I think Mary's tweed skirt is a re-wear, I'm sure I remember it being a bit marmite in an earlier thread, I love it though. I think the style on this visit has been first class (with maybe Fred as the exception).
That picture of Kate in the tank is going to be one that we see again and again. I caught a couple of comments about her not being with William due to staying at home to support George in a bit of a derogatory mumzilla way so I'm glad she's out and about to show that she's still working, just making sure she's here if needed and not out of the country. If you see what I mean.
Anyhow, for light relief here's Camilla pitching to Deborah Meaden at a reception last night. I think she's getting a "no"

MrsLeonFarrell · 09/11/2023 08:17

I like Camilla's dress. She has found a silhouette that works but still mixes it up with details, just like the late Queen.

Incidentally the phrase late Queen always feels wrong because the Queen was never late in her life!

AllTangledUpInTitlesAndTiaras · 09/11/2023 12:57

@chesterelly1 Yes she's worn that skirt a few times now.

Papergirl1968 · 09/11/2023 23:47

Camilla at a remembrance event. She suits dark green. And I like that little cloak.

I don't like that sort of hat that she wears a lot: she probably started buying them from stands at horse shows. In green tweed they are fine at a point to point but I don't think they are smart enough for that outfit.

AllTangledUpInTitlesAndTiaras · 10/11/2023 10:17

Oh no, that hat will be from the oldest and most prestigious milliner in the country...what’s it called again?

I quite like them (Very County, aren’t they?) and think they suit her. But I do know what you mean, they don’t exactly scream smart attire.

Eaumyword · 10/11/2023 10:18

I rather like Cam's big hats! I bet they are super cosy and she can carry off a larger hat. Ilike that dark green on her too.
Having just spent a wonderful week in bonny, beautiful Scotland, I can see how she'd look at subtle ways to keep warm in the biting cold of winter for outside engagements and a cosy hat is a good idea.

Eaumyword · 10/11/2023 10:20

Definitely @AllTangledUpInTitlesAndTiaras as my DM would say in hushed tones, very county!

That's some serious bling! Max looks amazing even though I'm personally not a fan of the pink dress.

I am a sucker for an 'arty' black and white photo though...

SqueakyDinosaur · 10/11/2023 12:55

And it's great to see the whopping Stuart tiara (though I think there may be an even more enormous configuration of it possible), after we were CHEATED of tiaras at the Coronation.

justasking111 · 10/11/2023 13:05

I'm a fan of big furry hats in cold weather. So Camilla has my vote.

justasking111 · 10/11/2023 13:08

Max is such an asset to the monarchy, think also of Mary, Leticia and Rania. They were parachuted into an ancient tradition which without upsetting the apple cart they have enhanced enormously

That is a glorious tiara.

It must be nice to be able to celebrate your accession to the throne when the previous monarch abdicated instead of died.

justasking111 · 10/11/2023 13:17

Well most of us retire thankfully and aren't in harness until death

hopeishere · 10/11/2023 13:27

I think Camilla generally looks great. She's making her "uniform" work for her.

I loved Mary's skirt and top a few days back and Letzia's dress.

I saw some of Megan and Harry doing some stuff with veterans- she had a cute poppy cardigan on. I was surprised at their involvement though but apparently their foundation funds veteran work the in the US ( as well as invictus obvs).

MotherofPearl · 10/11/2023 15:11

Brilliant to see the ginormous Stuart tiara. Max, like Camilla, is a woman who can carry off a lot of bling with ease.

But I'm afraid that pink dress puts me in mind of those loo roll dolls like this. Blush

Maireas · 10/11/2023 17:03

That Stuart tiara is something else, isn't it? Of course Max can carry it off!
She always looks amazing, although I have to agree with you, @MotherofPearl about the pink dress!

Behind the scenes at the Earthshot Prize. I don't recall ever seeing William in white trainers and a suit but I like it!

Maireas · 10/11/2023 18:34

No, me neither! It's a nice look. I have to say that he looked very relaxed and happy at the event. It's obviously a great project.

MotherofPearl · 10/11/2023 18:50

I know everyone wears those white trainers now, with anything and everything, but I'm not a fan. They make people look like Smurfs. I often see women wearing perfectly nice dresses that are ruined by a pair of those awful plasticky looking white trainers (though I realise they might not be plastic and may have cost a fortune). Not for me.
