Yes, Leti's shoes are fugly. And the whole outfit is drowning her.

gluenotsoup · 25/11/2023 11:27

I really like Kate’s outfit, especially the boots. It looks stylish and appropriate for the occasion.
I really don’t like Leti’s shiny coat, it looks like the type of texture that would make me cringe to touch it, although it probably is very soft in real life. I like the grey streak, and the fact that she’s wearing flats, but that particular pair are clumsy looking.
I don’t think the cut of the jacket is right for Eug, it’s too square and stops at her widest point and so isn’t particularly flattering.

justasking111 · 25/11/2023 11:30

Rare miss for Leti.

Eugenie is feeling post baby fat which means that you throw a jacket over a loose fitting dress and hope it hides your backside. 😂😂

Maireas · 25/11/2023 11:38

Sorry - I said Beatrice, I meant Eugenie, and you have a point, @justasking111

I’m not for a minute suggesting that Leti bought her shoes in M&S but I was in there last week and most of their flat shoes are like these. Why anyone would want to wear something like tractor tyres on their feet is beyond me.

KillingMeDeftly · 25/11/2023 12:19

Leti looks a bit too Herr Flick of ze Gestapo there and it's a rare shoe fail from her.

ChicoryDip · 25/11/2023 17:59

The Luxembourgs have been out at an exhibition with our mascots. 💙💙

They really are an adorable pair.

It looks great to me. Royalty tiaras are very heavy and not easy to keep steady on the head. I remember reading an article years ago talking about how the tiaras affect the person's movements just by making sure it doesn't get dislodged. Letizia mentioned years ago that they give her a headache and I'm sure she's not the only royal getting one.

We'd love to wear one of those sparkly things at least once, but I'm sure they'll lose their appeal if we ended up with a headache. Mmmmm.....maybe! 😋

Going back a couple of days as have been catching up on the thread, and have name changed in case this is outing Wink
We have a family tiara which I wore for our wedding. Contrary to that article you read, it wasn’t heavy at all and I didn’t feel it was going to go astray at any point (even with some pretty energetic dancing at the reception).
My mother insisted I use a hairdresser “with tiara experience” Grin - there was a lot of back combing and hairspray involved and talk about a hairpiece which luckily wasn’t needed!! I was very insistent that I didn’t want to look like Princess Anne (nothing wrong with Princess A obv but she wasn’t my style icon at 28) and actually it looked very natural for an up do.

Tiarawearer · 25/11/2023 19:41

So the message to everyone with a tiara on this thread is to find a hairdresser with tiara experience Grin

Maireas · 25/11/2023 19:47

Good advice! I like to think that some hairdressers have tiara expertise!
I remember reading at the time of William and Kate's wedding that the hairdresser practised with a tiara from Claire's Accessories! I don't think they had access to the real thing before the actual day.

Heh!

Max looking gorgeous in a cape:

I love the way she combines colour (recognising that grey may technically not be a colour)

gingercat02 · 26/11/2023 10:12

Love that on Max. I wouldn't have put that warm green and gray together but it works.
Absolutely love the pearls 😍

Serenster · 26/11/2023 10:15

Oh my goodness, those black pearls! 🖤 Max looks gorgeous.

The green is lovely, and we have a Pringle hat!

Beautiful black pearls! Love the green, love the cape and hat.

On wearing tiaras, I think size/weight makes a big difference - I remember Silvia saying in an interview that the Braganza is very heavy and very difficult to wear.

Papergirl1968 · 26/11/2023 11:57

Max looks great. I don't usually like pearls but I do love her black pearls.

Eaumyword · 26/11/2023 14:31

Yes indeed - Max looking fabulous as ever!

justasking111 · 26/11/2023 15:15

I love black pearls

Maxima and a headhehog with orange gloves. Too cute!

(When I saw what Kate was wearing I thought it was actually a deep cut from her wardrobe and she’s pulled this dress out from 2011 again. Similar vibe, though)

It makes me laugh how Kate has aged so little, many photos you can only date because of how William looks lol.

I'm sure I read somewhere that these tiaras can weigh several kgs (all the gold and huge quantity of genuine gemstones), and basically have to be sewn into the hair. Nothing like your commoner's wedding tiara.
