Princess Anne has I think 3 and I would guess she'd be utterly uninterested in faffing about with an unfamiliar one.

You are right - three that she wears regularly, but there are also three mystery tiaras that she has worn once each, and that may come from the vaults. The double meander one is one I’d like to see again - it looks like one that Camilla would wear well.

(I agree that dress is a fail for SamCam. It’s like the time she attended a formal service at Westminster Abbey - it may even have been William and Kate’s wedding - and wore a hair clip rather than a hat)

I think Akshata looks lovely - beautiful colour and fabric.
SamCam always looks pretty but agree, it's a day dress and out of place amongst the ball gowns, tiaras and post-its! She's the daughter of an Earl or something - I bet she could rustle up a family tiara!

That’s Sophie’s Coronation dress, isn’t it. The back is lovely with the appliqué but the front doesn’t have much going for it.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the embroidery on Catherine's dress was the state flower of Korea. I wonder if the tiara was chosen to match it?

I agree that the political wives look too casual but I suspect it is really hard to find the correct outfit when you are competing with tiaras and royal orders.

Akshata looks beautiful, I just thought the dress wasn’t a gown, and she surely could have pulled out all the stops if she wanted to.

Sam Cam's dress looks so out of place - I can't understand why she would have chosen that one. She's been around enough formal events in her time to know that it wasn't appropriate.

I think Sophie's dress worked for the Coronation with the robes on top but doesn't work particularly well on its own. The neckline is a bit odd - neither here nor there.

And whoever said that Kate may wear her dress for a future state opening of parliament is spot on - I bet it's marked on the spreadsheet already!

OMG I didn’t realise Blackpink were there! My DD is a big fan.

Whoever did Anne's make up never got the memo relating to the face and neck being of similar hue.

I'm quite sure Anne would have done her own make up, and I expect she's not wearing foundation so it'll just be natural variance between the two!

The wife of the Lord Mayor of London who is the official host of the event. Or so I read. She's German so I think there's a hint of National dress going on there.

I'm not usually much of a fan of Akshata's fashion choices, but that dress last night might just be my favourite outfit I've ever seen on her. Just gorgeous! SamCam... wow the less said the better, she is completely under-dressed for the occasion IMHO.

I think it's SamCam's style to be underdressed. I still remember a similar number she wore to a state dinner at the White House. At least it was floor length, but it created a bit of a stir at the time.

Have we managed to i/d the woman with William yet? It gives off a sort of adapted "Scandi folk costume" vibe. The woman must be fairly important to have been partnered with Prince William for the procession into the banquet.

Lady Samantha of Chipping Norton's dress choice was just awful - it would be OK for a lunch or political supper but too informal for such an event, Surely she owns several evening gowns and must know what is expected having been PM's wife. Very odd to turn up to a state banquet in a day dress - is she trying to protest DaveCam's return to politics?

Certainly in the photo @whiteshutters posted of PAnne there was quite a difference colour wise between face and neck, but it may be down to flash photography or the lighting @AllTangledUpInTitlesAndTiaras
