New thread, thanks for the brilliant title suggestion, as ever!

That's the one, @Serenster . They do look similar, though I prefer this one rather than tonight's.

Yes, me too. The gloves just look a bit naff.

ChicoryDip · 21/11/2023 21:19

That's the one I was thinking of @Serenster. It's also Jenny Packham. I prefer the one you've posted.

So nice to see new tiaras! Actually it's nice to see any tiaras at all on the British royals - I still feel a bit short changed by the coronation. They all look lovely.

And here is Leti looking amazing, although I am wondering what happened to Felipe and the other gentleman before the photo(!)

She looks fantastic in that LBD!

Maireas · 21/11/2023 21:24

Yes, I don't like the long gloves either.

Kate's wearing my tiara! ❤️
I am inordinately pleased about this. 😊😊😊

And how kind of you to lend it to her for the occasion

Jellycats4life · 21/11/2023 21:30

Camilla really seems to be enjoying having full access to the vault! And who can blame her 😄

Serenster · 21/11/2023 21:30

Looking at Kate’s dress tonight, I suspect we’ll see it being worn in future if she and William attend the State Opening of Parliament - it has that kind of feel about it (they didn’t go this year, but William was in Singapore for Earthshot, and Kate was unlikely to attend by herself).

CliffsofMohair · 21/11/2023 21:33

KillingMeDeftly · 21/11/2023 20:56

I preferred the previous one too. The gloves look odd as do the shoulders.

Camilla looks great! Is Sophie wearing Eugenie's wedding tiara with her coronation dress?

The WonderWoman tiara

According to RFP, Kate's gown is new and not a reworking of an older one. But I'm not sure that's correct - why make a second dress that's almost exactly the same as one you already own?

Well I mean, it is a very Kate thing to do?* *😂

Cackle · 21/11/2023 21:38

Holy hell, Kate’s day outfit today was very Spanish Inquisition x BeauxBatons wasn’t it!

gluenotsoup · 21/11/2023 21:39

Tonight’s dress is ok - is it her coronation dress? I don’t like the gloves, and prefer the previous white capey dress. I do love the Strathmore rose though- beautiful!
Camilla nailed it. I think that’s the best be seen her look, she can certainly carry those jewels.
Leti looks good, but slightly underdressed. I love the Korean ladies dress, she is so elegant.

gluenotsoup · 21/11/2023 21:40

No it’s not, just another similar style

Maireas · 21/11/2023 21:41

No, Sophie's looks like her aquamarine tiara, it's definitely not Eugenie's wedding one.

Am I the only one who hates the Burmese? If it was mine I'd have it remodelled.

I don't think she's attending the state banquet! I assumed that photo was from some event in Spain.

I see Major Johnny is there in his evening kilt...

This can't be right? Three layers? It wasn't that cold today!

I came to see what all you tiara experts have to say about tonights outings, you are so knowledgeable.

Don't know if it's the short cape sleeves I don't love or the gold embroidery, but I don't particularly like the top of the dress, however the overall fit of the dress is gorgeous, and the fabric and fit look really comfortable. Camilla looks amazing, love the matching rubies in the tiara, I don't think I have seen that before.

Could Kate have worn the yellow 'post-it' on the sash rather than on the opposite side? or is there some protocol around how they have to wear them, Camilla has her attached to her sash, I find it is less distracting.

thebabessavedme · 21/11/2023 22:10

My first thought for kate was 'god, her poor feet' in those red shoes, very beautiful and elegant but look like instruments of pure torture after 10 minutes . Tonights white gown was so elegant, except for the awful arm bits and the gloves (my gosh she is slim) I think I would have worn the tiara as the queen mother did, over the forehead, very pretty.

justasking111 · 21/11/2023 22:12

Camilla's dress is so beautifully tailored her undergarments the best ones I suspect.

Sophie's tiara the stones do look to be a different colour so I'm not sure. The Strathmore a lovely nod to the queen mother. I like the duchess wearing a long hidden one too.

Serenster · 21/11/2023 22:16

The post-its ( 🤣 ) are worn on the left shoulder, so you can wear it on your sash if that is worn left to right (as the Order of the Garter sash is, on Camilla). But Kate’s Royal Victorian order sash is worn right to left, so that won’t work. People have been hoping that Charles will hand out his own family order (the yellow one was a personal gift from QEII) but then they’d have to wrangle two of them - I think they are better off waiting a bit!

I saw the Crown Jeweller pointed out that this year marks 100 years since Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and George VI were married in 1923. The Strathmore Rose tiara was Elizabeth’s wedding gift from her father. So it was a lovely gesture for Charles (presumably) to lend Kate his beloved grandmother’s wedding gift tiara.

justasking111 · 21/11/2023 22:20

Charles is quite decorated tonight too. 😊

Makemydaypunk · 21/11/2023 22:28

Camilla looks magnificent, she really does rock a tiara, the red is stunning on her. I’m disappointed with Kate today, the red day outfit was a monstrosity, I don’t know what possessed her. The evening dress was also a disappointment, why did she go for something so similar to what she had worn before but was nowhere near as stunning, can’t say I was keen on the tiara either, I think it looked very dull.

justasking111 · 21/11/2023 22:34

Is the Strathmore tiara made of silver? There's so few pictures I can't even tell if it has any gems. There's no sparkle
