And that I can wear with socks

Any ideas? Not as heavy as boots and not as casual as trainers but comfortable

@RampantIvy , tidy. The heel height on them looks spot on.

KirstenBlest · 06/10/2023 16:19

@Marriedtoanofficer , not bad at all. A bit of a deck shoe vibe.

Bananaman123 · 06/10/2023 16:21

Clarks hamble oak brogues

HerMammy · 06/10/2023 18:02

@Canyoucheckonme
Toms do half sizes

@HerMammy thank you, I actually wear TOMS in the summer - their slip on alpagatas I think they're called. Only ever with jeans.

Umm... I'm not sure what I'd wear those loafers with?! Do people wear them with socks and jeggings / trousers or skirts?

I have these from Moshulu and they are very comfy.

I love those so much I’ve just bought them! Thanks 😊

LimeCheesecake · 07/10/2023 08:04

sounds ridiculous, but have you looked at school shoes? They are usually smart but designed for teens to be able to walk to school in, so comfy.

VelvetVoice · 07/10/2023 08:55

Hi guys

I’ve given up and bought some ankle boots instead
If I like it I will post a pic, if I don’t I will return

I figured I will update my wardrobe and try again next autumn - my clothes at the moment don’t seem suitable for brogues

Really like the moshulo purple shoes posted above but they don’t even have my size

Thanks for all the help

I bought Fitflop Allegra crush back loafers for work. They are much more comfortable than they look- it feels like you’re not even wearing shoes. I wear them with thin black socks ( I wear leggings rather than tights with dresses).

There’s a cushioned sole, but it’s not really visible from the outside ad it would be in a chunkier sole.

'I never see loafers styled with socks? I need socks!" OP

To be honest, any shoes styled with socks are gonna look pretty crap, especially if you're trying to look presentable for work (and I'm hoping these are to wear with trousers and not a dress/skirt)! Wouldn't you wear thick tights instead if wearing a dress/skirt with shoes?

And yet men wear shoes with socks in workplaces every day!

Sue6667 · 08/10/2023 15:51

Maybe skechers but the winter one has a good sole

Hopefully not wearing loafers (men) Looks dreadful.

I need to stop reading these threads, have just bought these having clicked on the link!

Very good point. I hate to admit it, but I have often looked at Clarks school shoes, and wondered if they may be the answer. But I don’t understand their width fittings, I am a standard width so how does that translate into their kids shoes?

Canyoucheckonme · 09/10/2023 12:09

@ScoobyDoesnt (love the name btw!) Have you used LaRedoute before? I liked the biker boots on there someone on this thread linked to, but am not sure about the website as it's got some bad Trust Pilot reviews?

I haven't used them for a long time (probably about 12 or so years) - but did regularly when the DC were small, as the kids clothes (and womens) were always good quality and well priced. Never had any issues.

So we'll see what happens with my order now!

Canyoucheckonme · 09/10/2023 20:16

@ScoobyDoesnt fingers crossed all is good! Would be fab if you could report back on here when they arrive please, as have seen a few things on the site I quite like.

chalkyc2 · 09/10/2023 22:33

I've defo ordered a few things from la redoute no issues. Maybe not the quickest delivery.

Year13novice · 10/10/2023 05:38

I ordered a few things from La Redoute last year and had no issues at all. One was a dress I wear very regularly and love!

Wolvesart · 10/10/2023 11:03

La Redoute delivery is fine. I think they make their money on furnishings and footwear. Clothes are bit more competitively priced

Ginandtonics · 12/10/2023 14:54

Hotter have some moccasin style leather shoes, boat style and slip-ons. Would probably be ok without socks. They closed the branch near me so I've not had a chance to try them unfortunately.

Lookingoutside · 12/10/2023 15:11

Fitflop do patent lace up brogues which I find as comfortable as trainers.
